  • Is Erling Haaland actually a robot? The Norwegian striker has always been ruthlessly efficient against Pretty much every opponent with a scary 80 minutes per goal record that is better even than Premier League greats such as Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero. So far, Haaland has scored 8 hat tricks, the same number that Michael Owen, Harry Kane and Thierry Henry who have played over 250 premier league games have. Some have thought that teams would have started to figure him out by now, but the Norwegian has already scored back to back hat tricks within the first 3 games! So How is Haaland doing it AGAIN this season?

You are a premier league manager how would you actually try and stop Haaland? 🤖

This Norwegian robot has made a mockery out of the “best league in the world” and at the moment, he’s currently unstoppable and doesn’t tend on slowing down anytime soon and he has made the premier league look like a farmers league. In such a short period of time, at the age of 24, Erling Haaland is dominating the premier league in a way we haven’t seen before from some of the best players this league has ever seen. Right now, he just can’t stop scoring goals as the guy scores a hat trick every game and I don’t know how a team can have it all, Manchester City has the best striker in the world, the best players in the league, greatest manager of all time, generational midfielders, the best team everything and I just don’t know who can compete with them and stop these guys from winning yet another league title. Haaland has always been known as an elite striker who’s prolific in front of goal, even though he’s had an excellent scoring record throughout his career, and I know that he plays on a world class team with a lot of playmakers, it’s a testament to his ability that at the moment he’s scoring goals at a higher rate in the premier league than he ever did in the Bundesliga and I think this will raise some question marks about the overall competitiveness of the league as he’s easily having a stat pad session against some of these mid table and bottom half teams. I mean, this is the best striker in the world on the best team meaning that the numbers that he’s putting up are absolutely staggering. Is Haaland that good or is the premier league an absolute joke. It’s both. He has more goals than games played in the premier league (72 goals in 70 games), he has won back to back Golden Boots in his first 2 seasons, he has the 3rd most hat tricks out of any player in the premier league despite being in England for 3 years, he has the record for the most goals in a single season in the premier league, he has scored against almost every team he’s played against and I can keep going since he has broken so many records.
At the start of this season, it’s the same story for Haaland and I can make an argument that he’s in the best form of his career and looks more clinical deadlier and lethal in front of goal than he did in his record breaking season and this is a warning sign for the rest of the premier league. At this point, they need to cancel the season because they’ve already played 4 games and he has 9 goals meanwhile the rest of the players behind him are stuck on 3 goals and he is stat padding his way to his 3rd consecutive Golden Boot. This includes back to back hat tricks, 3 consecutive games with 2+ goals or more, he has scored in every game that he’s played in, he was player of the month for August and a scary thing about it is that there’s a long way to go in the season and since he’s Manchester City’s only natural striker, assuming he’s able to stay healthy and continues his red hot prolific form, I think he has the potential to break his own records and while for him it’s difficult he’s that good. Forgot to mention that his crazy start to the season is a perfect example on the importance of players needing a lengthy rest. Right now, the premier league needs a separate Golden Boot and that’s because he’s on another level, he’s not even competing with other players for who’s going to be the top scorer, he’s trying to outperform himself and break his own records and he’s also outscoring teams and what he’s doing right now isn’t normal. As much as we focus on his technicalities as his linkup play isn’t the best even though it’s kinda improved this season, when it comes to pure goalscoring, Haaland is the best out and out striker in the world and he makes his job look too easy and he has made the “best league in the world” look like a joke in such a short period of time.

I see a lot of people point that out these days, but I've followed him since he played at RB Salzburg, and his overall game and ball involvement have regressed quite substantially since transferring to Man City. What people refer to as him "improving x" these days is more like re-discovering some of the technique that I assume was fading out of his muscle memory after barely touching the ball for two seasons 😂

@DillaryHuff Exactly. I always thought the reason he was considered such a bad player was because in a possession based team like City where he's pressed so much, when he does get the ball, it's probable he'll make a mistake, and people will notice more. When he was constantly getting the ball and passing in a team like Dortmund, his mistakes weren't nearly as noticed as they are now because he actually completed most. Now that he's playing like he was in Dortmund, people are finally noticing that the people defending weren't lying. To summarise this comment, his all round abilities haven't improved that drastically, he's just gotten better in tight spaces and a possession based style.

The scary truth is that the prem is not as good as british people think it is. Statistically other leagues make it further in the CL, score more goals, concede less etc.
But when pundits keep telling idiots that its the best league, you end up believing it.

Cool story, except multiple people have been saying this for so long. No one says Prem teams are the best, apart from City, they're saying the league will probably always be more enjoyable to watch for a new fan that the other leagues.
