So apparently there is a blood Angel successor chapter called the Blood templars who are mentioned once and have no art to show. Just figured I'd add this.
I am probably gonna revisit the Black templars for a more in-depth video on their own at some point. My Imperial knight video is taking way longer than I expected.
... Remember, we do not wear his symbol...we are his symbol...- M. Grimaldus. I'm a XIX legion fanatic but after watching "Helsreach" , the Black Tempars are way up there! Many thanx for the vid.
Templar fan myself. I agree with the Hospitallers having massive lore potential, it would be nice get some heroic stories about normal imperial citizens being saved and protected by the Emps angels of death. Hospitallers fit that bill
If your a Templar fan, maybe expanding on them and telling of some of the battles etc they have been involved with could be a good video. Keep it up man !
As a newbie to 40k and a history fan I randomly stumbled upon the black Templar’s really cool story and a well don’t short video packed with information.
Another chapter to mention is the "Crimson Templars" they got a single mention in the 4th Edition Space Marine codex, there's no lore around them or a colour scheme other than the single name mention in the codex
I remember thinking back in mid-3rd-ed. "Black Templars? White Templara? So many Templars!" Well, I _was_ a sweet summer child then. Or winter child to be exact, but still.
I do wish there were some novels based around the hospitallers. I’m sure there could be some legit stories written about them. Only down side to them is their dreadnought did get kidnapped when their flag ship got boarded.
As a new 40k fan I respect this I got into 40k at the start of this year cuz if bolt gun on games pass nd than Space Marines came out nd now I can say I’m a big fan nd rn my favorite chapter is the silver Templar but their not in SM2 so black templars cool A space Christian if u would “believe in my god or I’ll kill you” absolutely love it
Thank you for sharing this vid I knew of the Red tamplers and Silver Templars and the Hostitallers but not the White's (Yeah that retcon makes no sense to me as well). I started a army of the BT's and recently learnerd of the Hospitallers that I might make a squad and leader for them to. 😁
Check out the Excoriators, they're hardline atheist Marines. They're also kinda the blue collar, working class Marines often looked down upon by their brothera on the Imperial Fist successors.
The silver Templars appear in Renegades: Harrowmaster. Their vibe in that book is that they’re a chapter of duelists who get really anal about wanting to fight their enemies fair and square wich makes them easy to trick by the Alpha Legion. So they’re not just a generic UM successor chapter.
@@Bumbaclart247 Yeah, Grimauldus put himself on the line to help them out. The Spears are still fighting alongside them to try and retake their homeworld from chaos and may be letting the lions recruit on their own homeworld to help them rebuild from the invasion/war for Armageddon
Remember GW gave them a 180 degree retcon back in 6th, the original BT that people loved were about the most "atheistic" (regarding the divinity of the Emperor) Marines and the only group in compliance with the Nikea decree and therefore not traitors to the Emperor. All kinds of coolness involved. Then evidently finally realizing they had painted themselves into a corner, GW turn the BT into whiny Empy worshippers who cried about how Empy wouldn't let them have witches. Ignoring the fact that novices undergoing evaluation to become Neophytes were tested for psychic ability and if it was found, the got given the Emperor's Peace or converted to servitors. Finally, one thing both versions would have agreed on was absolute rejection of Primaris Marines. But GW wrote Helbrecht having a "come to Jesus" moment with Robot Girlyman, despite the Sons of Dorn despising anything Smurf. After all, pre 6th retcon and possibly with a bit of retcon here, the BT were progressing towards pocket Legion status at a slow but steady rate, with the *minimum* estimated number of BT being about 6000 Marines. They also had recruiting worlds all over the Imperium.
I don't want this channel to devolve into just me ranting, but I have strong negative opinions of the primaris Marines. I understand on a meta level why they exist, GW wanted to copyright the name of their poster boys, and it's hard to fault wanting that level of control over your IP.
I was gonna include them in a video called something sarcastic like "I can't believe they're not dark angels". In Legion of the Damned they were elitist pricks to the Excoriators, acting like spoiled rich kids.
Hello there, I just watched your Hulk video and I found it pretty good it seems like you know alot about old media. If I may present a scenario how well would the Beast Ork and his group of Prime Orks leading their Ork Waaagh with their Battle Moon and resources last in the Star Wars Expanded Universe galaxy Post Endor? Would they make a big impact?
I don't know much about Disney Star Wars. If it's the origonal heir to the empire post trilogy timeline I'm a bit rusty too. I do think that numbers alone would be an issue for two nearly depleted armies technically still waging a war.
@@ADeadmansperspective I do not intend to include Disney Star Wars as that is terrible and doesn't deserve any recognition. I intend only to discuss the first and true continuality of the EU and EU only. How big do you think the manpower of the War of the Beast Ork army is? They attacked the Imperium a thousand years after the Horus Heresy and the Great Crusade Imperium isn't as big as the 41st & 42nd millennium Imperium is in demographics and planets and systems owned. So I doubt the War of the Beast Imperium is as large as the 41st millennium Imperium.
@davemoore8127 OH yeah, that game has been a big help. And I always get a kick when I see a chapter I covered get added. Working on a grab bag of oddball chapters right now. The knight video I was working on is getting put off for a bit, can't find a structure to it that I like.
I like how GW decided to recycle the old Blood Angels colour scheme and give it to an Imperial Fists successor chapter.... (In case it wasn't clear I'm being sarcastic, I hate this decision)
@@ADeadmansperspective I mean you hit it on the nail with your video, they've created these successor chapters and given them one battle histories. Why? Do something with them and why change the white templars Primarch? And why change the Blood Angels colour scheme and give it to another chapter and not doing anything with them? It's a beautiful colour scheme too. Anyway, rant over 😂
Just to let you know when I say the Expanded Universe Star Wars I mean the original. I despise disney Star wars and I reject it and I do not see it as legitimate or having any authority as sources.
