I think Voevoda would get the first pull on the right hand, but that would be just about it. Larratt is perhaps the best at changing things up once he's felt his opponent, and you know it would be a Super Match format if they met; not just a one-and-done. You even see in this match Devon used about 6-7 different techniques. Larratt's also got perhaps the biggest heart and most endurance in history. I see him outlasting, and then outsmarting Voevoda. Power isn't enough to beat Larratt.
*Now he's a monster on the left, I mean. Years ago he wasn't that good, but when his right arm was decommissioned following surgery, he was basically forced to develop the left.
Maybe - my interpretation was more along the lines of Devon modifying his approach as the match progressed. I'm sure fatigue plays a big role too of course, the 6 round supermatch format is nuts.
Brzenks credentials, wins, and competition he has had around the world, throughout his carrer is what makes him the greatest puller of all time. As far as strongest/fastest/most explosive/powerfull armwrestler, there can never be a true answer, seeing as no 2 pullers ever pull eachother when they are both at their peaks. The best way to rank 1 puller above the rest would be to have a supermatch/elimination tournament once a year, and have the pullers have to qualify for this event in advance.
@bogdychamp I'll quote Richard Lupkes who was one of the strongest armwrestlers of all time, especially in 1989. Here is talks about Devon...'I have met a lot of armwrestler's in my 30 plus year's pulling, but I can honestly tell you that I have never felt the kind of power that Devon has. Not even John (no disrespect intended). Devon has my vote for #1 hand's down until someone prove's me wrong. This is just my experience and do not mean to disrespect any puller.'
He never said that, in fact, he barely even does interviews and is known to stay away from the spotlight. He makes more faces than he has words to say, so if you're gonna make shit up, make it sound like the way he speaks atleast.
do I that saw the elbow of Larratt leave only vary times of the cushion? do I know that Larratt is stronger, but, the law is not for all? thanks for post!
Voevoda would win on the right maybe 4-2; but on the left Larrat would win probably 5-1. They are both top of the line. Brzenk climaxed at 42. But before 42 Brzenk would come at anyone and hold them and slow press them all.
seeing as Underwood gave him a hard time at Arnolds and at the armwars Las Vegas. i wouldnt call that a flop.He himself in interviews has said that is one of his flaws. ( a slow start/against a fast toproll puller) However i do believe Devon is an amaizing puller and smart enough to come out with the victory in a supermatch.
Devon has amazing endurance. But his weakness is still a fast toproll hit at start while his wrist is flat. If he catches you with his wrist even slightly curl he wil beat you. I say Arsen would hit so hard that Devon can't react fast enough to stop it
heres my theory: john fluctuated in weight all the time, switching weight classes etc. voevoda went from what, 250 lbs to almost 300 on a year? whereas devon has stayed and worked at his current weight for a long as I've seen him pulling, this adds up to stronger and more toned muscle than from quick weight changes. my money is on devon over brzenk and voevoda. logic ftw.
lol. Not even close. Look, I loves me some Voevoda, but he became a bit of a one-trick pony. On the left, he was maybe 50th in the world, while Larratt is a MONSTER on the left. On the right, Devon had every trick in the book. Once his arm is healthy again, we will be reminded. Devon wins 6-0 against Voevoda on the left, and probably 4-2 on the right. People need to watch arm wrestling analytically and stop attaching emotion to what Voevoda appeared to be during his short little run.
50th in the world? The only person he lost to on left was bagent who left was untouchable in his peak. He beat Semerenko left-handed. I see you on every Devon/Voevoda video with pseudo-made-up bullshit acting like you know what you're talking about.
@bogdychamp That quote came from Lupkes, who armwrestled all of them except for Voevoda, so his opinion must count for something. I dont think Todd overpowered Devon, rounds 2, 4 5 & 6 Devon dominated, rounds 1 & 3 Devon was trying to get hand control and falling into Todd shoulder press which is very hard to stop. If he stays away from the press next time it would be 6-0. In my opinion. Devon beat john 6-0, Bath 6-0, lupkes 6-0, Bresnan 5-1, there's a lot of power there.
i think the 6 Match was not Fair Look at 9:02 his body Past half Table ... How some1 Can put his hand donw in this position ... The Pad is Under Devon Shoulder ... But Very Nice matches ! Yes i think Devon Will win Pushkar BUT Dennis , Voevoda , Lilliev Can beat Devon .
@Haxmaxxen wow, someone who actually has a working brain and doesnt kiss voevoda's ass. Dont get me wrong, the man was great. but he's no "legend" in my book. John (and lupkes) is a legend.
Guys voevoda will never ever be able to beat Larratt. He was great in 2004 "Yes" but lost to bagent even back then. Secondly he doesn't have fast hit enough to top roll Larratt down to the pad because of muscle fibers. In strenght i'll say there are maybe 3-4 through out the history of armwrestling stronger than Larratt atm. But when it comes down to endurance or technique Larratt is just riddicolously good. I'll say 4-2 vs denis (same result against todd) I would say todd and Denis is same lvl.
He lost to Bagent in 2003 weighing 30 lbs less than in his peak. From 2004-2007 no one could even move him from centerline. He doesn't need a fast hit, he will simply roll over Larratt.
Larratt is not the strongest but has an ability to adapt to many oponent's moves, he doesnt use strength to resist their offensive but positions where the rival cannot develop full strength and pin him down I respecti him but I don't admire such tricks
his left arm is the weaker one, so in this match he was at a disadvantage, but he has immense strength and I think he's one of the fairest and most sportive of all wrestlers
Roko Vujević No it is not. It was shown plenty of times that his left hand is weaker. Hence he even showed his training routine and the right hand (biceps) could lift 80 kg, yet left arm was far from that.
You have no clue what you are talking about.. You don't get anything for free at a table, strength is needed to earn the position + there are so many directions you can be strong. There is not one "general" strength. If Larratt would have every muscle weaker than Barboza, there is no fkn chance that would happen what we see in this video.
2008 Larratt wouldn't beat the best version of Alexey. Now Devon has built a much more solid career than Alexey, and is on a whole other level. But, if we're still talking about the reality of 10+ years ago, it was a different Devon (already one of the very best, but different).
And people say Larratt didn't pin quickly. He went straight to the pad several times here. Devon's prime
