  • Solo with Rolo - we stayed 7 nights at Kendal Caravan and Motorhome club site, Sedgewick Cumbria in July 2024.
The site is really straightforward to get to, we exited the M6 at J36 onto the A590 (Barrow, Kendal). Then we took the exit 'Barrow /Milnthorpe A590', and took the 3rd exit off the roundabout, towards Sedgwick/Hincaster. Then left into Nannypie lane. This is a long narrow lane but it does have some passing places, and areas where dog walkers can step aside to let vehicles passed.
Kendal Caravan and Motorhome Club site is set in National Trust Woodland. The river Kent runs adjacent to the campsite.
Kendal Club Campsite is on the site of a 19th-century gunpowder mill, and the remains of buildings can be seen within the site.
The site is set out over a wide area and the use of a map is recommended until you get used to the layout.
There are lots of walks around the site, including a riverside walk, a walk to the 'Low Sizergh Barn Farm Shop', and various walks around the site and dog walks direct from the site.
The site is a great base from which to explore Cumbria and the Lake District, with Windermere just 13 miles from the site and Keswick a further 20 miles beyond. It also makes an ideal stopover point for onward travel towards Scotland.
