Teenagers are the future. You've probably heard that phrase before. It sounds corny and cliche and it kind of is. But there is a lot of truth to it. In the next 20 to 30 years, every major and important position in the world will be filled by today's teenagers. The presidents, generals, and CEO's will all be the 14 and 15 year old's of today. In some ways that is scary, but in other ways, it just shows how fast time flies.
Having said all of that, it is important that future generations move forward not making the same mistakes as the generations that came before them. This is critical. We have to learn from our mistakes, otherwise we are doomed to repeat them (another often heard phrase). Today, we have dedicated our list to this endeavor. Of course, the advice you are about to read isn't anything groundbreaking or Earth shattering. It won't solve world hunger or cure cancer, but it will make the adjustment from teenage life to adult life that much easier. So if you know anybody that can benefit from this list, forward it to them because these are 25 Bits Of Advice Every Teenager Should Hear.

I think that should be changed to " have sex responsibly" because not everyone ignores precautions like choosing the right partner and only being with that person. Always use the right condoms and learn how to have pregnancy preventing sex.

Respect isn't about the other person so much. It's how you represent yourself. You give it whether they deserve it or not. This speaks volumes about you.

Karen Dobrowolski Yeah well there's different culture everywhere. This is how I was raised and in other places you earn respect and until you earn it you're treated poorly.

Wow! I'm so sorry. The giving and the getting seem to go hand-in-hand to me. I have shown respect to people who threw it back in my face, but I believe it spoke more about their hatred of themselves rather than what they thought about me. Having a true respect for yourself is a steppingstone to respecting others. Blessings to you!

I wish I knew these things when I was a teenager, I learned most of these the hard way. One advice I would give teenagers is: don't be so eager to grow up, being a teenager gives you some advantages as you don't have to go to work, you don't have to do house work and you don't have to pay bills, enjoy it while you can. As the years pass life will get a lot harder and you'll also find out that years pass faster (the same 10 years from when you were 10 till you were 20 seem a very long time, well, the same 10 years from 20 to 30 will pass in an instant).

    1) Don't be the smartest person in your friend group. You learn from the people around you and this is key.
    2) Don't chase relationships. It may look like you're alone if your friends are with their partners, but jumping into a relationship will cause more damage than finding the right person for you. It's okay to not be in a relationship because you are still young, but nowadays people seem to have forgotten that.

    • @epeglab1o1
      @epeglab1o1 7 років тому +5

rgpfighter I would say go for a relationship, but don't expect it to last. When you're young, it's the best time to explore what qualities you like and dislike in people. Sure heart breaks sucks, but you would at least have experience with such powerful emotions with training wheels.

1 Get your parents to teach you about:
    Paying taxes
    Opening a bank account
    Getting healthcare
2 Don't try to avoid taxes, especially income taxes. It will affect you negatively later in life
3 Get a job before moving out. save money for when you do.
4 Don't smoke. You already know it's bad for you but it also costs the average smoker 2000$ a year.
5 When it comes to your first time drinking don't do it at a party. Make sure you're around people you trust. I first got wasted drunk at home. I had family in the house and I learned my limit in a safe environment. Also take it slow. Alcohol can take a bit to kick in. Get up and move around every once and a while to see how drunk you actually are.

Start hiding it in places she'd never look. Like in her own possessions. That's if she goes out regularly.
Even better would be to get a bank account. Don't set the pin to something she could guess and never share it.
You could try to report her but living in what I assume is her home is a tricky situation.

I think that is pretty common actually. You can notice it with kids often. Kids (or anyone) who won't listen to their parents, and get corrected by / talked to by a third person (friend of parent, school teacher, or youtubers) will take the third persons advice more serious. Some psychological thing that makes you listen more serious to third parties instead of your parents. Perhaps you have the same thing ;) and I think many of us do, unconsciously. Which is fine

my advice, as a slightly older teen(being about 19)
keep your friends close at heart, but always be ready to bludgent them to death.
not the physical beating, but in a work sence. you both want that job, so you both apply. you want it more than him, so beat him in the sence of applying to the job. if you both get rejected, your still friends, but if you get accepted over them, and they are upset, be ready to kill them, and explain how compedetive job markets work.
if they hate you, and stop being your friend, thats thier choice, don't let it get to you, just let them go(beat them to death in your heart). if they stay, you have a true friend,

    Advice to teens?
    Say no to drugs!
Learn to choose your battles wisely! You don't have to fight over everything!
Don't sweat over stuff you can't control. You can't control it anyway, so you're stressing for no reason! When it comes to stuff you can't control, you need to learn to respond responsibly instead of reacting irrationally.
Learn the power of saying 'no'. You don't have to say yes to everything.

Here is an easy one: "if it looks dumb, it most likely is", so best to stay away from out of control parties and the whole #yolo thing. Live your one life to the fullest, but please do not try to receive a Darwin Award in the process, or even to less extremes messing yourself up from idiotic "rites of passage". Earning your license, finishing school, being with the people you care about and cherish are the best keys to living a good life. I sincerely thank you for reading this message in its entirety, and possibly considering the wisdom it contains even if it's a tad unfocused. Have a good one.

Stay in school and don't run away from your problems ok. Face them head on you'll learn a lot from it all.

I'm gonna go ahead and piggy back off that piece of advice where he says "don't worry what your peers think". That's such good advice. That should have been number 1. Nowadays you find it so common that teens tend to want to do the trendy cool thing that some teens give up their beliefs, put their morals to the side, and don't value their values for the sake of being recognized by their peers. Stay strong minded and strong willed, teens. Trust me, after high school, you won't hear from about 99% of the people you met in high school. You'll only stay in touch with just a handful of people that were your close friends. Be a leader. Make it the "cool" thing to not do the cool thing. Once people start seeing that someone else shares the same beliefs, morals, and values, you would have started a new "trend" but in all actuality it's just how you feel and you would have changed several people's lives.

I have eight children and homeschooled for 17 years for many reasons.
One thing I think is important is to teach the child/teenager about life and to even talk to them about how making this a good interactive topic among peers, mentors, etc. matters, as talking with others about this helps give new perspectives instead of being "fixed" on one "school of thought."

Someone who got in an argument 1-2 weeks before wanted revenge for something waited until the time the party started an called the cops. Only two or three people had or was smoking it, but everyone got in trouble, a few were arrested and I think all but 1 person dropped out to go to other schools or never finished college just by being associated with it.
