Hi My Names DragonBloodEater and I'm 24 years old going on 25 this year and for someone like me who watch and played both the Anime and Video games of Pokemon. I'm really sad to see "Ash Ketchum" Leaving the Pokemon Anime. I started watching pokemon back in 2004 up to now which is 2023 and for someone around my age. I feel like this is a good way to end a journey and bring up a new one for the younger trainers who will grow up loving their own characters and for the older trainers talking to them about their own characters that they grew up with.
So, Even though I feel Sad that Ash is leaving the anime, I'm Also Happy and Excited to see the next generation of trainers. Where we the old generation of trainers left behind for them. 😄
Now that we have New Characters and A New Journey coming Soon. I'm Greatful that I and everyone else around my age will get to Watch and Teach the new Generation of Trainers. Where we left behind for them to pick up and start all over again.
And with that "Goodbye Ash Ketchum" 😭😭
I really hope ash still has some screen time like those kids being interested in beating him or knowing he is the champion and wanna be as good. I also actually think that they won’t have that cast for multiple generations I think after the generation is over they will stop with that cast and create a new one.

I think that Ash is still going to be in the anime but not as a protagonist but as a character that we would see through out the series as a supporting character like the professor Oak or Delia I could see him through out the series being a character that would pop up every once in a while whenever that there’s a world ending threat being at stake
Pokémon is one of the largest franchises in the world. Doubt the new characters will bring down viewers for a long time
Just watching your video Gooey448 has reminded me how sad I first felt when we found out Ash and Pikachu were leaving the anime. I'm going to miss Ash a lot, and thinking about it now, I do think the new anime will have less fans. Live your videos as always!
Gooey, do you think that it is possible that without ash the new anime will flop leading the writers to bring ash back in the gen 10 anime? PS. Now that ash is gone there is a problem that the gen 9 anime will face that no one is talking about. That is the character's actions will not carry as much weight. You see since we believed ash would never be replaced all his actions mattered bc they would remain in his continuity forever. Now however, since it is established that the main lead can be replaced Liko's actions won't carry as much significance bc we know that she could just leave in the next series and the slate will be wiped clean.
Possibly, I think regardless they will bring him back in some way

@@gooey448 I just realized the ash thing is just the Brock and Tracy (forgot his name for a sec) "arc", Tracy replaced Brock and the fans hated that, so they brought him back
persons keeping Brock would be A mistake because he kelp his eyes closed so that wanted two get rid of Brock only for fan of the show two want Brock back persons who worked on the anime

I personally don’t think he should leave, as he is such a big role mode and major part of the Pokémon company. Him leaving will definitely make the show weaker and the only thing keeping Pokémon a float will be the games and if Ash makes cameos in the new series.
as someone who got into the anime since day 1 its ok for him to leave as long as he reached his goal. that was 1 of the things about watching a show. is seeing the journeyh of the main protagonist reaching his goal. Now yes the characters do give off an emotional point and stuff but who says this new protagonist wont have those type of characters. but it just has to give time for us to relate to the new characters on an emotional level. So it is sad to see him go but its time now. What else is there to do for a world champion and finally becoming a master? and who said that Ash might not come back? I think if he ever does as a non main protagonist that will be the biggest hype ever and grown men will cry and love to see the type of man this character has become. Just as long as they dont pull a boruto

I think it was recently announced that the writers of the Pokemon anime are considering bringing Ash back in some form. We don't know what way they plan to, but they seem like they might plan to.

Maybe they decided to finally replace Ash, because the series was getting old after 25 year, and they didn’t wanna go The Dragon Ball route where Goku appears every season. Sorry to go off task.
I love Ash, but I'm glad he's leaving. I was a fan of the show for the first 3-4 generations, and then I starrted watching less and less. I've seen at least a handful of episodes from every season since, but it felt like their target audience was just a little too stale for me to be interested. Getting a new protaonist is a chance for a soft reboot that they can really use to change up the entire dynamic of the show. Plus I was too bored with Ash to bother tuning in when he was in a new epiode every week, but I'll be way more interested in seeing Ash when he inevitably comes back for cameo episodes. I'm hoping they give us some time without him for a while, then have Riko lose a quarter finals tournament match against him at the end of her first journey. It would be a nice call back to Ash losing his first tournament, plus Ash could be shown to win the whole thing and then come give Riko some motivation when she's feeling defeated.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but there was a time when everybody actually wanted him to leave and everybody said they didn’t have the balls to retire him and then when he’s going to be retired after going out in spectacular fashion, people are asking for him back I know not all of the Pokémon community wanted him gone, but there was a point Before journeys in between sun and moon and XY where people felt that way and from your own pole and the communities consensus, nobody thought they would retire him anyway and they did I’m gonna go onto the series with an open mind because Pokémon knows they can’t fuck this up because if they do it really will be dead. Will the amount of people tuning in be less probably but if the anime is good and high-quality, it will have enough to sustain being relevant like the show with ash in it because good animes always get good viewership

I feel like Liko and Roy can be good characters, but they feel way to "Game-Character Based"

Like they could tease Region names right with Champions?
Or are there no champions/gym leaders etc in upcoming Regions such as Paldea, in the time Liko and Roy life.
So many questions that can change the aspects of the animé.

If ash left. I think the best thing for them to do is a time skip. I know there are some theories saying that the girl is ashs daughter which would be much better than switching to a complete stranger. They at least have to connect the two if they are gonna get rid of ash
How can Ash stay? He is supposed to be the best pokemon trainer in the world. If he stayed it wouldn't make any sense, since he is supposed to be the best. Why would he fight gym leaders and all when would destroy them? I think is gonna be like Leon, someone that young trainers are going to look up to.

Honestly, in my opinion, I blamed the writers and the producers for doing a terrible job in Journeys of creating Goh and Koharu who are the worst traveling companions for Ash, useless fillers episodes, pointless plot, and they did a poor job with Ash and his Pokémon. I can not believe that this is Ash's last adventure. Its sad Ash is leaving the Pokémon anime, a part of me is glad that he's finally retiring, and a part of me will miss him because he's a part of my childhood. Sometimes I think. What is he going to do now since his adventure is over?
Also, they could have done a better job of giving him a proper send-off in his last adventure instead of making a fan service show. Kind of like that Pokémon: Aim to Be a Pokémon Master, which I hope this show will be a proper send-off for him.

i don't think it's a mistake on my opinion, they did say they're going to end "his" story because he's become the world champion, and the only question now is how close is he on becoming a Pokemon Master, meaning he's closer to his dream and his story might end from there sooner or later.
Sure, some old fans will leave and never come back, but for example I never wanted to watch the anime because of Ash, (I never even new who he was) when I was a new fan.
I was excited that there was a TV show with the Pokémon game I loved, and I'm sure many new Viewers will come for this reason as well.
Also don't forget, if they exchange the protagonists more often from now on, I don't see this becoming a problem, since Pokémon did that everywhere else, including the anime if we're including the other main characters.
I forgot to add: you make it sound like only Ash was ever capable of being a relatable, optimistic hard working rolemodel.
I think you can imagine that I would highly disagree on that.

Atleast give the new character a chance, guys. I know the new guys will never be as iconic as Ash but Ash is leaving, and yes you have the right to be sad but Pokemon was always about children. I highly doubt many people who used to watch Pokemon when they were kids still do now. Pokemon is always about changing and adapting, think of it this way: The new show is like a new region, instead of being sad that you are leaving Kanto, be excited about the new adventure you will get Johto (doesn't help much, I know). Let Ash finally age, being 10 years old for 25 years must suck and think about the new friends we will make along the way, with perhaps some old friends (wink wink). He finally became the very best, like no one ever was. After all, we all knew this day would come. Life goes on, you have to do too. Ash wouldn't want you to be sad now, would he? Gotta catch'em all!

I hate that he’s leaving due to the fact that he has a lot of unfinished business like reuniting with pidegot or going back to kanto and challenge the kanto pokemon league again and win and then going to johto and challenge the johto pokemon league again and win and then going to sinnoh and challenge the sinoh pokemon league again and win and then going to unova and challenge the unova pokemon league again and win and then going to kalos and challenge the kalos pokemon league again and win and get reunited with Bonnie and ash-grenija and zygard again and then go to the hoenn region and get reunited with max and battle with each other and then challenge the hoenn pokemon league again and win and then open his own gym in the battle frontier as a battle brain and finish his Pokédex etc!

Unpopular opinion: I think thats a great idea to replace Ash,now don't get me wrong I don't hate Ash but I think it's time for him to retire, he's already been a trainer for 25 years and he already fullfill his goals to be the best trainer in the world
And look at the bright side maybe we can finally watch pokemon changing their main character for each season and who knows maybe all of the main character including Ash will gets a crossover just like Digimon & Yu-Gi-Oh. Beside Pokemon also done this thing too in the pokemon adventures manga so thats the reason why I think Ash being replaced is a great choice

Gooey, the Pokémon anime loses viewers anyway. Ash being there or not didn’t change the fact viewers left. And even if Ash leaving causes many people to leave the anime behind, I think Pokémon is trying to accommodate the new, younger viewers. After all, Ash has, in our world, been at this journey for 25 years, so several older viewers have grown up and possibly had or adopted children. I think the new protagonists are here to allow the new viewers to grow up with a character *they* can relate to.
Maybe it’s a mistake to send Ash off of the main character slot, or maybe it isn’t. We have to deal with the fact that the world changes, and the anime is changing to fit this new world. This isn’t just about the old viewers. This is also about the next generation.

I completely disagree. I think removing Ash was the best thing for the anime and I think more people will watch the anime now with new characters. I've been on a pokemon fansite for a long time and almost everyone who talked about the anime wants Ash to leave or a new anime to come out. Even so, you are completely leaving out the fact that all the current anime cast in Japan are in their 50s. Ash's voice actress specifically being about 54. They are getting older. And unlike in America, VA have completely different rules in Japan, like two people cannot voice act the same part or they'd have to go through all kinds of special stuff.

Pokemon shouldn't have released in North America and Europe in the first place itself . Their audience really are stubborn and not willing to move over. Come on you and me we know that Ash is just being replaced as protagonist. He is not going out of the anime , he will return in cameos time to time . Majority of fans are reacting like Millenial kids who lost their lollipops and are now complaining for another one . And you think this will affect Pokemon greatly? In symbolic way - yes ? In literal way - no . Pokemon is the highest grossing media franchise of all time and it's income doesn't only depend on games and anime . It does everything a franchise can possibly do and earns from there . For a company with a market cap of 120 billion US dollars this will be a minor loss .
While I agree with most of what you said, saying it shouldn't have released in NA or EU is very stupid. If it hadn't, Pokemon would have never gotten as big as it did and the games would have probably stopped being made after Johto which was when they were originally going to end the franchise.
The audience in Japan is even more stubborn when it comes to show development tbh
