Excellent ideas. You are very creative and talented. And for the people being rude complaining about stupid stuff like dirty fingers, bad music choice, and too fast. First of all its crafting ya get dirty, second there is a mute button and surprisingly you all do have volume buttons on your phones, tablets and computers that you can use and lastly the video is self explanatory it doesn't need dialog or slowed down. No one needs to see every little detail of each step to know whats going on in a video, if you need that much direction from someone else then you are not using your own creativity
A super video my dear Gio!!! Thank you... I'm going to look at the second part now, well deserved looking at it entirely even if I know most of the ways, your video is a fabulous (and beautiful!) summary
Great ideas. I have one extra. You can use gesso on surfaces like cardboard, canvas panel, etc then decorate and let dry completely to create homemade texture plates.
Ehhe, thanks for watching , dear Coco. I just split the blog posts in two due to the large amount of photos, you are not the first person who thinks there were two videos. Let's say making this one took enough time ;-)
What great ideas! Thanks for sharing! I can't wait to try using gesso on regular fabric. I had only ever seen it used on a canvas before. Love the image transfer idea- I always forget you can use gesso for that! Subscribing so I don't miss anything.
Wow these tips are amazing! I really wish people would keep their negative comments to themselves, I'm sure alot of work went into making that video. TUFS ☺😗😙😚😍
Couldn't agree more. What the heck is wrong with people? So a creative person goes to the trouble to share some pretty ingenious tips and tricks (and she clearly has mad skills) and some have to nitpick and criticize? If you don't like the tip, don't use it, but don't criticize the person sharing. Thanks for saying what I was thinking!
@@trinacorbett4827 Hello Trina, that is a very old design of mine, not in stock anymore. I can cut it for you, you can pick a round stencil from my shop and let me know in the message that you like the old doilie so I know it is you. www.etsy.com/listing/737726707/stencil-spiral-reusable-laser-cut-mylar?ref=shop_home_active_32
@@giogiocraft ... that is incredibly generous of you. Thank you !! It is a really beautiful stencil. I found ithers I love too. Thank you !!! ... and thank you so much for all your BEAUTIFUL videos!!
Incredible; have never bought it or used it but you convinced me! Gesso companies should pay you, as I'm sure many will now be inspired to use it. Yours looks thick. What kind do you recommend? Thanks for a truly inspiring video!
Great ideas!!!I would like to do a leaf transfer on top of my acrylic pour painting. I have only used gesso to prime my canvas. Could I use acrylic paint or acrylic ink mixed with gesso and put right onto the leaf and then press it on my canvas...would this work?
I really don't know, sorry. Maybe It could work if you paint with white gesso over the top of your pouring, just the shape of your leave, and than try to do the transfer. Make some experiments, before!😊
Hello Leslie! A cheap way to make your own gesso is starting from gesso powder...it costs a couple of buck for 1 kg, you can find it in the hardware store.
hello, thank you for your videos, very fascinating. I am an absolute beginner and if possible I would like to know what do you use to clean your stencils of the gesso. thanks!
Water and an old tootbrush. Please consider to stop whatever you re doing and wash your stencils straight away, always!if you are in a hurry you can use baby wipes( but these are not environmentally friends). Hope It helps😊
When you transferred the black and white lady picture onto the board was that a picture cut from magazine or a special transfer paper? Thanks I have never done a transfer
This was incredible and so helpful. Thank you! I have a question: what is the wax-like paper you smeared & dabbed the distress oxide onto? Afterwards i believed you sprayed water onto it as well
@@sierrafrancesca Hello Sierra thank you so much for your comment. Sorry I didn't add more subtitles, it is not clear at all: I swished Distress Oxide on a plastic sleeve, any plastic bag is good for this. For gesso I used cheap paintbrushes, because unfortunately gesso spoil brushes, wash always them straight away. And yes gesso stain clothes , like white acrylic paint, please wear always something to protect your clothes. Hope I helped a bit :-)
Hi there can you use gesso on chipboard shape as leaving a pattern also the same with decorative dies , I'm very confused, want to have a leaf pattern but they don't make the one I'm after anymore n I found both similar in chipboard n decorative die thank you, wanting the thickness of gesso once the stencil has dried, n using chipboard cut outs I thought be ok, not sure bout the decorative die
Lots of great ideas. Didn't realise there was so much more I could use gesso for then just prepping paper. I'm off to play! Tfs x

Well, It never happened to me. You can try to make It powder and add a bit of water? But never tried this, I am sorry☹️
