@@Toys4Life For me the sound of the whirling supercharger is deLIGHTful !! 😄
Am aware of the modifications You have done via viewing each previous video, thus the "three" of "four prongs along with obvious assistance with the 'fourth' => Congratulations !! 😆
      A. since the 'fourth' prong, cool air, has important and significant affects, have You considered adding a air intake cooling system-solution, as a intercooler ?
      B. Clearly the porting, air flow improvement with the supercharger is beneficial for improved air flow, thus engine performance, which is the purpose, goal with all 'boost' 🤓
      1. would and have You considered other air flow improvements in the intake valve seats, head ports, intake manifold ? 🧐
      2. perhaps view David Vizard videos [have recently discovered and viewed] about these air flow 'porting' techniques, expertise, measurements, etc. among his many other useful expertise as a high level, technical engine builder.
      3. also have discovered Pete McCarthy, former long time Pontiac drag racer from the 1960's, with his GTO & Firebird, via Justin Shearer [Chief] - Midwest Street Cars - in late Dec 2021 video near x-mas] who wrote books detailing with his developed expertise in 'porting' heads, etc., suspension, etc.
-> the books, information are still available via hs site - Pete McCarthy is still alive. 🤓
      C. Also am aware with Your use with "E-85" fuel, for improved power, performance too.
      1. since 'pump', fuel station "E-85" typically has 40% up to 55% ethanol, less in cooler temperatures, some warm temperatures have up to 65% ethanol [more rare], have You considered using higher ethanol content fuel for racing as C-85 [as NASCAR], -90, -95, -100 [As IndyCar] for improved combustion, buring, significant power, performance improvements and results ? 🧐- higher octane is only necessary and helpful for higher compression engines to slow the burning rate and does NOT increase power, performance; contrary to common 'belief'= misconception -> also proven in dynometer measurements, though previously known, established by experts, many decades ago. 🤓
      2. also the lubrication selection improves the function, operation, performance, power along with the durability
      1. certainly a quality synthetic oil, transmission fluid, gear oil, wheel bearing lubrication, etc. is beneficial, important, essential, vital
      2. Have You investigated, discovered the BEST synthetics yet? 🧐
-a. as known, established and used by the professionals for years - the BEST are from the private manufactures NOT the major petroleum oil companies = StndOilInt'l-NumerousBrands=Vlvln,Exn,Mbl,Cstrl,Kndl,QkrSt,Chvrn,Shll,Txco,Snco,Un76/Cal,Mrthn,Arco,BP,Mtl,Ttl,et al &store/distrBrnds,incl
-b. BEST synthetic, proven by vast, throughout testing, data, including performance, reliability, etc. is Amsoil - 1st commercial/production for the public& attained 1st SAE&API cert. ->Mbl1 was a poor, lower quality synthetic since inception, development, production - actual race teams never used though 'sponsored'
-c. next best and close are RoyalPurple,JoeGibbs,Schaeffer - ask and checking with lubrication expert LakeSpeed,Jr, previously JoeGibbsRacingTeam 🤓
      D. Enjoy Your well presented, prepared videos and Hope, Wish You Much Success. 😄
      E. As We know well, there are many simple adjustments, modifications which have noticeable, significant improvements, and results. 😏
All The Best and Much Success in Your Quest, Health, Happiness and Well Being. 😊
      Sincerely ☺

Ahh, I miss my 5-speed manual 1988 Fiero Formula which had just 30k miles on it. I wish I never sold it. I removed the 2.8 engine and installed a blueprinted 3.4-liter engine (actually closer to 3.5-liters with .40 over pistons) with comp cams street cam, roller rockers, and long tube headers, and man did that car rip. I had friends who put both that 3.8 supercharged Buick engine in their Fiero or a 350 chevy v8 engine (remember V8 Archie) in it and I road in all those cars. All I can say was those were scary fast and fun too. My car had the Borla exhaust and it used to crackle and pop on deceleration and I loved that sound. I sold it to a guy in the midwest who made it into an Indy Fiero and then he sold it to a guy in Michigan who offered to sell it back to me in 2006 for just $2,500. I was just married, had a project house, had a baby on the way, and my wife just sold her motorcycle, so I was not able to buy it back. ☹

My cousin had a red 86 GT Fiero back in 89. He had a hidden nitrous system, home made intake and exhaust muffler. With engine being the rear this thang was a monster launching it off the line. We did a lot of street racing with it against a lot Chevy z24's, GT Celica's and any other v6 sport cars. You could power brake it dam near to redline and launch it and it would pin you back into the seat barley spinning the wheels.

You got yourself a new subscriber. Just found your channel, your video guide on what to look out for when buying a c5 popped up in my recommendations and I ended up bingeing a bunch of your videos after that. I read that your fiero isn't intercooled because it's not really worth it, but have you ever heard of a company called cryo2? I read about them in the early 2000's when I was in high school when they came out with co2 intercooler spray bars, but they also had this thing that hooks up to your intake tube and there's a hollow ball inside with connectors so you can freeze it with co2 and cool down the air that passes over. It's not super expensive either. Just thought I'd mention it since it seems like it would be perfect for your situation 🤙from the Big Island of Hawaii

Love this build. I saw a small intercooler available for the SC 3800s somewhere that is pretty thin and bolts between the supercharger and intake manifold. The junkyard 3800 the guy put it on was making consistent numbers one pull after another on the dyno. I imagine his build was similar to yours, it was making about 389hp. I forget how much torque but it was high 300s close to 400. He hit that engine with nitrous and it made almost 700hp without hurting anything and was still running in a "safe" range according to the PC he was monitoring it with. I can't remember how much over 6k rpms it ran but what an amazing engine, GM should have never stopped making it. I would like to get a sc 3800 with a transmission and engine cradle from a Monte Carlo or GXP to replace the 3.6 and 6 speed in my 15 Impala limited/pre14 body style. The 3.6 hp and mpgs is okay but it doesn't have enough torque in the lower rpms for me. I like to have a lot of torque at around 3k rpms rather than 4k rpms, makes it easier to keep the rpms lower with my slightly heavy foot.

Man, that little white Fiero is really freaking Q-U-I-C-K!!! And I mean, LIGHTS OUT QUICK!!! YClearly, you gave that brand new Vette a whole freaking mouthful and that was just about more than he could chew!!! And while I’m fairly sure you already know this, but this particular, head’s up, race could have very easily been won by you, Mr. Toys 4 Life!!! The way I saw the pass, the Vette hit an 0.84 light versus your 1.17, for a slight difference of 0.33 seconds. You ran an 11.68 to his 11.29, for another slight difference of just 0.39 seconds. Ok so, please, just hear me out on this one… “IF” you had cut just a little bit better light, than the 1.17 second light that you did cut, you would’ve beat the Vette to the finish line… making YOU the winner of this heads-up race!!! Now, what do I mean when I say, a “little bit better” light??? I mean, if you had cut just a mere 0.07 better light OR, in Laymen’s terms, if you would’ve cut a 1.10 light, instead of the 1.17 you pulled, you would’ve still ran a SLOWER 1/4 time time than the $80,000+ fiberglass go-cart, BUT you would’ve beat him to the finish line, essentially winning the heads-up race!!! I would say, “if you cut a better light and/or he cut a worse light”, but you can only control the things you do and you have absolutely no control over what the other driver does, so that would’ve been a mute point. It's a very nice sleeper.. I have been in a bad ass set up 88 Turbo'ed 2.8L Fiero GT.. They stopped making them because once turbo'ed they were killing the corvettes at the time not just in a straight line but around track's.. Guy's were buying them for 15K putting another 5K into them and killing the vette's of the time that were over 30K back then.. But I have to say the badest car I was ever in back then when I was young like 16ish was a 1990 ZR1 Vette it was nasty for back then. They were $60K back then.. But GM got rid of these cars because they were hanging with Vettes for cheap and because they were dangerous for back then. But the car was way ahead of it's time for sure..

For drag racing on a budget, I remove the front shocks. As you can see tons of weight transfer so that it doesn't spin off the line, then the front end settles when traction is no longer needed at its greatest.

They aren't parachutes, they're air brakes😄. BTW, I own a 86 1/2 5 speed GT that I resto-modded. If I had the money at the time, an engine swap like yours would have been my first choice. I settled for a 95 Camaro 3.4 that I did a full port and polish on plus high lift roller rockers. Lowered 2 inches with max performance 17 inch wheels and tires. Designed a rear stabilizer bar and added all Prothane poly bushings. Handles like a go-kart

@@Toys4Life There's something nostalgic about the USA's only two production mid-engine sports cars going head to head on a dragstrip. And if you ratio in your cost versus the C8 cost, you killed it. But now you need to complete the cycle by racing a C8 on a closed circuit track like Watkins Glen. BTW, if I ever sell the Fiero, it will be replaced with a C8. Once you drive a mid-engine car, front engine is not the same BTW, I used to own a 1980 Mazda RX-7, which due to the compact, light weight rotary engine was considered to be a front mid-engine car.

I think it's impressive that you have successfully improved your little car with factory parts GM could have made work as well. However that C8 cost so much not only because it is faster in the 1/4 mile but also because it will stop 30 feet sooner than your car and it will run lap times at a road course much faster than that Fiero. I confess though that I would very much like to see both cars on an asphalt short track like they run what they call the spectator drags in the north east. With the most expensive low profile cornering tires made that will fit it, on that Fiero I suspect it would be difficult to beat.

84 - 87 Fiero brakes don't have much capacity for stopping more than a couple times in a row & would overheat well before the C8's! Would be fun to try though!!

@Toys4Life I would be surprised if you were unable to adapt a large front wheel drive 90's GM disc brake system onto a Fiero as they all used strut suspension and changing out the steering knuckle from strut to strut is very easy.
Was wondering if you have tried alcohol water injection to cool down the intake air temp or maybe a 50 hp nitrous shot ?
