Yeah I noticed that too. I was really hoping for a redub for the Blu-Ray release. Nothing against the original voice cast but I've yet to hear an English version of "Ai no Tenshi" and "Alone but at Ease" that sounds as great as the originals.
I feel like the English version is so good for being an English version. Since the dub was made for a western audience this version sounds like it's from a western girl band and not a Japanese one, I feel like this kinda helps with the cultural bridge if that makes since
I wish the DVD or blu-ray included the other dubbed songs. I might know someone on MySpleen or Cinemageddon who might be able to sample the songs from the audio track. *Fishman* on UA-cam seems to be pretty good at that too.

If I try to hear this as a passing pop song that happens to be on the radio, I wouldn't think twice about who the artist is or what their life is like. Cham was probably the equivalent to the 3-4 hit pop bands that last a few years in the mainstream. And she left before they even became ~huge or international. I think it still fits with the theme.

In "Ai No Tenshi" you can distinctly hear 3 different voices from Cham compared to "Angel of Your Heart" where you only hear Mima's voice.
This film is timeless, I just watched it a couple days ago and the effect this film had on me, I felt like I was going insane, much like the main character, good stuff!
now that i'm super into kpop i always think about the situation from perfect blue happening in real life. Like what if one of my favorite kpop stars starts to lose her mind all because of her fucked up fans.

Believe it or not it was thanks to Robin Williams on how I heard of Satoshi Kon in the first place. The film icon was a huge fan of anime, even had an autographed DVD of Kon's series Paranoia Agent. After that I looked up who Satoshi Kon was and what other anime he made. My goodness he was such a great filmmaker who also died too soon. RIP to both Williams and Kon.
I haven’t watched the original with subtitles but the English dub was A1. Usually I can’t take subbed movies seriously but I think it was realized that this movie deserves to be appreciated in all ways. The “stalker” pushed it pushed it for her love.

During his lifetime capitalism only existed in embryonic form in the process of enclosing common lands in England and Holland. Remuneration (being paid for shit) predates capitalism - in fact, the only capitalist part of Remuneration is surplus labour value (paying someone back a fraction of the wealth they produce as a wage). So - the art of Michelangelo was not a product of capitalism. Some fine art has been produced on a capitalist basis, especially during the late 19th C and going right into the mid 20th century (although even most art produced in this period has little to do with capitalism per se). Its just that the natural tendency towards monopoly erodes the quality and complexity of things it produces and seeks to monetise (make it a profitable enterprise) things which are produced for reasons other than profit and, again, erode the quality of these things in search of the bottom line.
