I was there for this at Atlanta Pop 1970. Tripping my ass off, walked right up to front of the stage for C Bros and stayed for Hendrix a little later. Doesn’t get any better.
I agree this need to be reissued for a cheap price not whats floating around now. I want to thank you for sharing this great tune for all. It one of these songs you never get tired of it has stood the test of time and will will keep on standing.
This truly takes me back. I remember hearing them play this as night fell on the Atlanta Pop Festival on July 4, 1970. Imagine, 500,000 people flat out frozen in amazement. They truly don't make groups or music like this anymore. Saw them first at the Filmore, Christmas, 1969 with my future wife. We were mesmerized.
1970 taking the bus into Cambridge with my brother to buy the album and blasting it when we got home. Even my Mom loved it! Loved the Chambers Brothers back then and still love them today. Thanks so much for posting.
san francisco 1971, just graduated from lincoln high. night time looking out at the lights in the city playing this long version and smoking panama red. there will never be a time in history as the 1960's and early seventies. went into the marine corps july 12th 1971. The Chambers Brothers are a soul music group, best known for its 1968 hit record, the 11-minute long song "Time Has Come Today". The group was part of the wave of new music that integrated American blues and gospel traditions with modern psychedelic and rock elements. Based on their Southern roots, the brothers brought a raw authenticity to their recordings and live performances that was missing from many other acts of that era. Their music has been kept alive through heavy use in film soundtracks..........Eddie

brought this album back in the 1970's when music was music,it inspired me to learn how to play the bass, and i still play after all this time.this song was a song you could play if you were smoking some gooood bud,or you took a tab of window pane, purple haze or orange sunshine, and if you had a bad sound system.....it was all over, the mood this would put you in was awesome, thanks chambers brothers for the memories.
SO happy to find this here! I was driving in St. Louis once (in 1969) and this was playing on the radio. I got completely caught up in the music and didn't remember where I was going ... it was like being in a 'Twilight Zone' episode (and no, I wasn't tripping!) *¬◊

Thanks for sharing, I saw them live at Villanova Univ. in 70' will never forget that concert. The group that open the show was called Goliath, very good. The Chamber Bros. were sitting in the audience in different places, then they all stood up and walked up on the stage. One of the best groups from back in the days.
this song (long version) was played over and over and over and over, until the grooves were worn thin, and even with the raspy sound i still loved this song ... and i still do
Bless you for putting the long version of this song on here in its entirety. I had the CD for a long time but it got lost somewhere. Now, the cheapest I can find the CD is about $80. Thanks for making my day when I found this entire version on here.
Talented drummer and composer Brian Keenan was largely responsible for leading the Chambers crossover into rock and psychedelic territory. George Chambers praised his contribution numerous times. Killer drummer, too. RIP.
they are the only black hippies a fantastic powerful, psychedelic, soul, rock band of the end of the 60.ies ,they still sound amazing today peace on you guys

Always thought it was another extended Jam of TIME but when I heard the intro when I pressed play today I was jumping around and dancing like a fool and went with the Jam.
