As a US submarine mechanic the valve puzzle for sure was a favorite. Looking at the pictures then trying to put that into reality with how the puzzle moves and functions seems alot like working with diagrams and troubleshooting equipment i work with. Having to be able to use the mind to watch the parts come together and work with each other without actually being able to see it happen is always a challenge and very rewarding in the end. Great job and great video!

A "US submarine mechanic?" That's pretty funny. Are you sure that you didn't mean an Engineering Technician or Marine Technician Submariner. A submarine mechanic. "Ay, go ahead and pull her into bay two and I'll have a look under the hatch. I gotta check to make sure these *valves* are all working." 😂😂

The cross one is my favorite. Not because it's the lowest skill level but when it comes together, it's so satisfying and that's the best part of these puzzles. There's nothing better than figuring out a puzzle and learning it's pattern. I remember the first time my dad solved a nail puzzle in front of me. It blew my mind and as simple as the solution was, I struggled with it for a couple hours before I figured it out. I've loved puzzles like this ever since.

The best part of the solve for me is when you explain how you are thinking about the puzzle. Most puzzlers show the solve and the sequences to get there, but it is nice to hear the thoughts as well. Great Channel Chris, been a fan since 2017!

I love the cross puzzle! The hidden maze puzzles like the valve I can’t stand. It feels like I’m just guessing and can’t see the maze inside. The planet is a close second, but the movement of the cross, how tactile it is and how satisfying it seemed, gotta put that one at the top of my list. I’m adding it to my Xmas list. I always get a couple of Hanayama puzzles for Xmas. 👍🏼

Fun evening watch with my young daughter. The reflections made it harder to track, but my favorite was the ball bearing and her’s was the corona planet. We have bought a few of these overtime to keep around the house. Always sleek and pretty.

The planet puzzle is so mesmerizing. All the little moves perfectly fit through the open. Just having them all together in a bowl on the coffee table with other ones to tinker with or on a shelf as a decoration cause they are curious looking.

I have the Cylinder (also level 4) from Hanayama and designed by Timonen.
I bought it for my 12 hour plane trip. I would recommend for people to do such thing!
I'm not an expert, had no experience at all. But was inspired by this channel to find a puzzle like that.
It was fun, and frustrating, but very satisfying when I finally cracked it. Bought another one for the trip back :)

For me, I like the Cross. I like the precision the moves have to be to get both pieces in position to split them apart and of course remembering how those were made to slide both pieces back into the home starting point. Great little puzzle. All are great but the Cross I enjoy the best. Thanks Chris.

I actually bought my first Hanayama puzzle after watching one of your videos. I then took it to work and watched my co-workers accidentally "solve" it thinking getting it apart was the entire purpose, not knowing getting it back together was the other half of the battle. No one ever successfully got the puzzle back together without me showing them. Thanks for all the awesome content. The planet looks like another great addition to the stash at work, as people could accidentally get it apart but not know how to get it back together.

Those all look very well made and satisfying. I think my head is wrapped around the valve puzzle. Find where the inside piece moves up and down the most. Keep inside relative to middle. From there it's rotate and step the halves down. Keeping the outer in the large area of the middle piece, using the waystations in the other half of the middle piece.

I love all three of these little puzzles.
I felt like I have done puzzles very similar to all three of these before. Obviously not these puzzles but similar. Probably some kind of simple copies of similar design. Anyway. I thank you, I enjoy your content.

    Thanks again.

I am just mesmerized by your videos. They allow me to stay connected with the puzzling world since I am not in a position to start my own collection quite yet. But can we just talk about the planet one for a second… that was so intriguing. I love the idea and I am like you in that I feel much better about puzzles if I understand them. The value one would be hard for me mentally because the mechanism is hidden. That is clearly the point of it but the planet puzzle is much more up my alley. I’m still up in the air about the cross puzzle but there is no dispute to the beautiful designs of all 3 of them. Hanayama creates such stunning puzzles. Anyway, I admire your patience and I look forward to your next videos! Thank you

It never fails, those puzzles are always great for mind numblingly simple approaches for the solution, yet sometimes they can be frustrating to the point where headbashing causes the same amount of numbness.

I love watching these. For the past few years, I have watched your puzzles and started getting them for friends. For Christmas each year. And now it's an ongoing joke with our group of friends we all get each other hanayama puzzles before Christmas and when we go to our families for Christmas we just text in our group chat our progress of them. Our 2 rules are we can't open them until Christmas day and cannot look up the solutions, i.e. watch your videos, and we have to have them put together by the end of the day and first one that does gets a beer from the rest of us!!!

The puzzle I understood the most was the valve puzzle because of how it was like a maze. Now, I haven’t always been the absolute smartest person in the room, but I have been exceptional in solving mazes. The valve looks like it would be a good challenge for me and I would love to get my hands on it one way or another and see if I can do better or worse than you Mr. Ramsay. But good job on all of those puzzles, enjoyed the content man. Keep up the great work 👍

These were the most interesting (i call them) pocket puzzles you've shown so far. And yeah, you're right, trying to brute force puzzles, regardless of their level, it's gonna eventually leave a bad taste in one's mouth. They're excellent to have a crack at between grueling tasks working or reading or something to clear the mind. TLDR: don't make them your task, make them your escape.

I enjoy these videos as they are calming and very relaxing. I preferred the valve puzzle and my wife loved cast planet.😁

I’ve never been much of a fan of these kind of puzzles, mainly because they make my hands hurt thinking about having to hold all the pieces in a way so they don’t fall apart when trying to put them back together. I’ve always been more of a Rubik’s Cube fan. But the Cast Planet made me go to Amazon and start adding these kinds of puzzles to lists. They are so pretty to look at and playing with them would be so much fun! Love your videos and will continue watching you solve puzzles for as long as you keep posting them!!

I love the look of the Valve since it looks so innocuous yet cool looking. I think I would have the most fun solving the Planet because of the pattern matching but my wife would totally love the Cross since the pieces move in all sorts of angles.

Cool little puzzles to just fidget around with. Planet Covid is probably my favorite of the three.

I agree with you Chris, the valve puzzle was harder to understand, but maybe because the maze was visible, that was why you blew through the planet puzzle.

I'm new to the whole cardistry / magic / puzzle solving thing, started collecting a few decks for the beauty of them... would love to try those! Thanks for sharing! ♡

The Valve puzzle reminded me of the Infinity puzzle. You have to rotate one side at a time to get each side to drop until they are out. Very satisfying. Thank you Chris.

You’re always the first videos I watch when I sign into UA-cam. I loved the planet, not only for the solve but for the aesthetic too. But would love to try the valve considering it took you almost an hour. I wonder how long it would take me. Love all the hard work, and your tenacity, that goes into constantly putting out new content.

I agree on your ordering for these puzzle's difficulties. I love the idea of having the Planet as a combination lock...

I really enjoy watching your videos and have a great admiration for what you do and realize that it takes a lot of work and commitment to be honest I would have broke my brain on the valve puzzle.
    Many thanks and much respect
