Love the way you use simple colors to imply so much visual richness. It’s really cool how doing pixel art for a while this stuff becomes second nature and the world kinda melts away.
I have a vague memory of doing something similar in the 90s! If you are going to try it again I can't recommend Aseprite enough. Really is the perfect app for pixel art and it's strangely affordable. Thanks for the kind words 😃
The best advice I can give you is just go for it and learn whilst failing. I learned a process of blocking out basic shapes and then shading them by practice, failure and watching others. That's always been my main motivation for sharing these speedpaints. To hopefully inspire people to try the techniques they see for themselves. Have fun with it and thank you for the kind comment :D
my only question is why did you reintroduce the diagonal lines back into the skyscraper? at 13:56 it looks super cool, how did those lines end up back in it?
new to pixel art, is there a simple way to add that background grid (not the default checkered one, the red+blue lines) or do you just have to manual draw and copy paste?
Hi hi! I have a copy of the grid you can paste into a new layer above/below your artwork layers. As far as I know Aseprite doesn't support isometric grids without plugins at least. It's a pretty simple process setting up a canvas though with a premade grid. Anyway, you can grab the one I used here cleverbones.co.uk/parker8ball/isoTemplate.png Happy pixel artin' :D
Nice Work! idk but the isometric style always challenge me but since I saw your video I'm feelin super motivated to try it again :D just followed you on instagram. nice to meet you!
Здорово, но с тенью на автобусе небольшая ошибка. Nice, but there is a mistake with the shadow from building which fall down on the bus, it should be more right on the bus roof. The other all is brilliant.

Thank you! It's true, a few hours is lost to Aseprite when I get in the zone 😄
I used to do this in paint, back in the late 90's. Nothing special, nothing as good, but it was quite fun. Might try again. Nice work!

That burger on the wall must have taken up at least four bytes!
I’ll try and be more careful with my bytes next time!
lol
I'm wanting to start drawing pixel art and it's insane how you turned a few shapes into something with depth and shading with just a few changes!

Looks great! Thanks for sharing your process
Thanks! It was fun to make :D
I really love your music choice for this. And your skills are magnificent.
I appreciate your comment! Thank you 🤩

It was just a small study piece. I had no specific goals or anything solid to create. I'm not sure which lines you are referring to though.
They're reflections, they show the building is covered in glass (windows)
Как же это красиво!
🥰
That looks great! The ending shot makes it look like a Polaroid. :)
Thanks! I hadn't really thought about it looking like a Polaroid. But, now I can't unsee it 😂

@ thanks a lot!
Это прекрасно

Great work. Did you create the isometric grid manually or id you use a plugin or something?
Thanks! It's a custom grid I made before starting. You can get it here cleverbones.co.uk/parker8ball/isoTemplate.png
@@parker8ball thx for template

Amazing !!
Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to comment :D
@@parker8ball Your welcome :D
incredible work. I'm just starting to do pixel art. How long did it take to make this?
Thank you! If I remember correctly it took around 4 hours of work on stream. Then, I spent another 30-45 min tidying up things before finalising it
This reminds me of an android city building game with this exact same style, isometric and used a similar pixel art style
Do you remember what the game is called? I would love to see it
@@parker8ball Theotown, It's a neat little game with a nice community you should check it out!
Added to my Steam wishlist in anticipation of the upcoming summer sale! Thanks :D
the game is called Theo Town i Believe well its the only pixel art themed City building game i know
@@parker8ball ^ couldnt figure out the way to answer the message my bad

Thanks for the kind words and the follows! It was more challenging than I first thought it would be. But, a good grid really helped 😅
Where can I get this net for isometric art?
cleverbones.co.uk/parker8ball/isoTemplate.png here's a link to the grid I made for this project
how did you open the grid in background?
The isometric grid is layer that I placed on top and reduced its opacity
@@parker8ball thank! i will try it

Yes, I noticed this after I published the video and fixed it for the print! I don't know why I overlooked it :D
reminds me of spokane
Spokane looks so lovely! Especially in winter ❄
also the shadow on the bus is completely wrong.... its just a layer over top of where the shadow should be on the street...
Yea, I fixed this on the final after uploading
the music....
Not me watching the video like:🧘
Amei!! Ganhou + 1 inscrita!!
Thank you 🥰
