This kid is the epitome of who we should be. So many fans treated him so badly, yet he still loves us. He gave his heart when he was here even though he was dealt one of the worst hands. Great to hear these things and wish nothing but the best going forward
Couldn’t agree more. He put his all into it. Did not have the outcome anyone wanted for him, but you cannot argue he tried hard every day and was one of the toughest SOB’s to play for UT.
@gnasty438 dude was worse qb tenn ever had his parents bought him playing time. Look at his record and stats he sucked why u think he's working at the ketchup plant now
I remember watching JG and talking to my dad about how tough this guy was. He took a beating and kept getting back up. So impressed with this young man. Thanks for all you did while wearing the orange. Would love to have seen him play for a better coach and a better oline.
JG, I wasn't most supportive, but there is no denying you were tough as nails and GAVE YOUR ALL for OUR Tennessee VOLUNTEERS! Thank you for being the man you became despite the lack of fan support during your time at TN!
Bro honestly I was a huge hater. JG was the QB when I was in college and I didnt support dude like I shouldve. But man this guy has character in spades and is tough as nails. So glad this was on locked on so that I can learn to appreciate this VFL the way I always should have. Hearing his story is such a joy. I appreciate it Cainer
I loved this interview, I have the greatest respect for JG, one of, if not the most underappreciated Vol of all time. A super talented athlete with a great attitude and leadership skills that found himself on a never-ending treadmill of incompetent and self-absorbed coaches. He was a real warrior!
Thank you JG, for everything you gave to this program! You are a legit great guy and regardless what went down at Tennessee, you are a VFL to me! Go Vols!
If you don't like JG than I don't like you. This guy gave his all for Tennessee and I love him for it. Thank you JG for your efforts and love for Tennessee. Much respect to you. Come back anytime. You are always welcome in Neyland stadium.
No Tennessee Vols QB has had to go through the adversity as what this kid did. Plus all the hate that he took from the fan base, if I was him I don't know if I would want to potentially subject myself to that again. He would take heat after a loss one week, and then if there was a win like at Kentucky all of the sudden he's the best thing since sliced bread. If he had been in the right system at Tennessee, it's hard telling how much he could have flourished. He could have been great in coach Heupels system if he came in as a freshman. But I've got to say hats off to the young man for jumping back in the deep end. He is well aware of the scrutiny and backlash he's going to potentially get. All I have to say is, welcome home Jarrett. You've been gone far too long. #2 Jarrett Guarantano VFL GBO
JG didn't have the best run in his time, but at the end of the day; he gave his all for the team WE love. That's all you can ever ask for!! I know they don't go out there and want to lose games. Hell of a competitor!
I was never a JG fan. Now, looking back, I wonder how good he could have done with a decent coaching staff. Love his loyalty. Lots of us didn't deserve it.
I always loved and supported JG. He gave every thing he had for the team and was certainly not always supported. He didn't deserve all the negative talk as he was tough as any player to ever play for TN! I appreciate him so much! 🍊🧡
I won’t lie, I JG made me throw my hat across the room numerous times especially at Bama. But his toughness was never to be questioned and I loved the kid. I always get some man tears hearing that post Mizzou interview at the end.
Glad that JG and Jonathan Crompton are on good terms with the UT program. Both of them took alot of abuse from vol nation. They both played in frustrating times, but both were better QBs than they got credit for. Crompton had a good senior season, but JG never had a good situation to show how good he was.He did show how tough he was because he was blasted alot. Gotta respect anyone who gave it all for the orange and white. I believe both JG and JC did.🫡
I for one would consider you a VFL! You went through a lot of changes during your time, the program was not in a good place at the time and I wanted to blame you and that wasn’t fair looking back now! Welcome back and hope to have you attend more games in the future. GBO 🍊🏈🧡
Wow really great show .toughest kid I ever seen some of those hits wow.JG will always be 1 of my favorites, wished he could have played in a better system .if I remember his offensive line wasn't very good .Dooley didn't recruit any players .so butch didn't have much to work with.
I must apologize to this young man . I took out my emotions I had for the university / program on him . I hope Tennessee does it right and include him in the family.
That was great hearing a former player talk about the current scheme and explaining it in simple terms. Always respected JG and hated how things worked out for him.
I have taken up for JG unconditionally. He had the worst coaches in UT history and never any stability at OC, but he gave everything he had for our team and got little respect in return from the fan base. I hope he can forgive the worst of our fan base and know that real fans still love him.
JG was treated badly. And that’s all on Pruitt and the coaches. The fans could see something was really wrong in the culture of the team. Trying to figure out what, was impossible because no one was talking. When the media said, JG went rogue in the Alabama game. He called his own play. Some fans were calling to get rid of him immediately. Then later as the bouble was busted on what Pruitt was doing. Fans thought that’s why they didn’t bring in the backup. Which was doing a better job. We thought JG had something on the HC. But the back up wasn’t in the game long enough to say he was better. We were so off base. That’s why I blame Pruitt. My thoughts at the time is why don’t the coaches help JG wight a quick release, and simply routs. They’re letting him get destroyed out there. I used to leave comments to Pruitt on his post comments to the press. Was stop drinking water. It was like check his sugar out. Tennessee’s going broke supplying his water. Hell he didn’t play, pass that out to the team. I used to call JG in General Motors crash mannequin. I don’t think that today. I am not embarrassed. Pruitt let all that happened. Today our problems are different. We took on the NCAA we took a belt to their butt. And left it with scars deep enough that they’re trying to attack at every opportunity. College football doesn’t need them anymore. They’re just getting rich making cash grabs and we get nothing in return. All we needed was a good A.D. and H.C. And new Laywers. Go Big Orange
I hate that you were thrown into the fire from both ends of the spectrum. The hate shown by vol nation and pieces of crap coaches. I was one the haters, sorry for my ignorance, as far as QB, I thought you were so so, but as far as character you were second to none.
Back to back pick 6’s against Kentucky…He would only play at “his best” when he was benched…Yea I don’t buy it… this kid was a bust…he seems like a good guy but his play was terrible folks not just with TN btw…

@@garyheath9531 have class dude, wtf is wrong with you

I have said bad things about his play. But I never rooted against him.
I remember watching JG and talking to my dad about how tough this guy was. He took a beating and kept getting back up. So impressed with this young man. Thanks for all you did while wearing the orange. Would love to have seen him play for a better coach and a better oline.

I hope everyone had a GREAT Christmas with their families.
I have to say, I'm impressed with Guarantano as a person.

We all make mistakes. It takes a man to admit it! 🫡
I love seeing our VFL’s. Thanks J.G. For giving your all.

Awesome interview 👏 great to see JG🍊
I always loved and supported JG. He gave every thing he had for the team and was certainly not always supported. He didn't deserve all the negative talk as he was tough as any player to ever play for TN! I appreciate him so much! 🍊🧡
I loved JG! He was so tough and I’ll never forget the touchdown pass to Jennings against South Carolina! He walked off holding his wrist. Tough!!!
Glad that you are in a good place in your life. Happy to have you as a VFL!
GLAD TO JG AGAIN,, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.
Loved this! 🧡
I’m not going to lie I use to blame JG for every loss but in reality we had a terrible coaching staff I’m glad he’s doing well welcome back JG GBO🍊
God bless you JG!

Good young man, GOD bless
JG I AS A 50 plus VFL you were awesome. Keep coming back you are loved by Vol nation!
Thank you JG,this was a blessing to witness. You are a great VFL and great man. Would love to see you on the coaching staff. GBO

He still shows up for UT even though the fan base was ruthless.
Bro is a true Volunteer and no one can dispute that.
We welcome you back with open arms
Really awesome episode. Love the content. Just two players talk ball & life! GBO!!!
He always gave it everything he had. Anyone who hates on him is legion of the miserable.
Great interview! Best of the future for JG. Keep on keeping on bro, God has your back! gbo🍊 vfl
Great episode Eric! JG gets a LOT of undeserved hate for his time at Tennessee. Glad to see him doing well and still proud to be a Volunteer!
I remember seeing his announcement video in Times Square. JG had to do what he had to do, he is a VFL. Thank you for giving UT your all.👏👏👏
Class act!
JG loves Jesus keep on keeping on my friend
Welcome home JG 🍊🍊🍊
I'll always have love for JG. He stuck it out during a rough era. He deserved better
He really needed a better O-Line
Guarantano was a warrior. We didn have the best coaches to support him, and he got absolutely destroyed but always got up. JG is a VFL.

Extremely well spoken dude. He could work in the media space easily if he wanted too
JG is very well spoken. He would do well on the Vol Network as football analyst on game days,, but also even his own show.
I must apologize to this young man . I took out my emotions I had for the university / program on him . I hope Tennessee does it right and include him in the family.
That was great hearing a former player talk about the current scheme and explaining it in simple terms. Always respected JG and hated how things worked out for him.
I think Jarret would've played under Huepel hw' probably been alot better
We'd have won the SEC with him this year.
1,000%. Think he had all the intangibles to fit well within the offense
JG would’ve been perfect for Heups offense!
Welcome home JG
I have taken up for JG unconditionally. He had the worst coaches in UT history and never any stability at OC, but he gave everything he had for our team and got little respect in return from the fan base. I hope he can forgive the worst of our fan base and know that real fans still love him.
That Auburn game was epic as good a game as any Tennessee QB had especially on the road
Try ur hand out in coaching JG! Maybe huep has a spot open?
JG was treated badly. And that’s all on Pruitt and the coaches. The fans could see something was really wrong in the culture of the team. I have been and will continue to be a JG fan. He took a beating for several years and played well despite a lack of talent around him. VFL 🍊
Great kid. Amazingly tough and grit. Wish he had a different coaching staff!
He's always been a great kid. He got thrown to the wolves. Got shell shocked early. Probably be a baller in Hypes offense.
I hate that you were thrown into the fire from both ends of the spectrum. The hate shown by vol nation and pieces of crap coaches. I was one the haters, sorry for my ignorance, as far as QB, I thought you were so so, but as far as character you were second to none.
He was an Auburn slayer
He was blamed for everything by folks who knew nothing about football.
Bro if he had heupel he would’ve been a DAWG! Multiple coaches and coordinators lol he battled it!
Best of luck JG . I'm glad my sons were not QBs
thanks jg toughest qb i can remember
He needs to get into coaching
Still one of the TOUGHEST men to ever wear the orange. This guy took a beating, got up every single time, and competed his ass off.
Tough guy lots of records thought of highly
Was this kid a 5 star recruit?
No one thinks about the coaching changes and instability he had to endure. JG, we are sorry and you are a VFL
SAD INTERVIEW! JUST SAY ITS BASKETBALL SEASON! WOOOO!
If he would've scored that touchdown against Bama every one would be wanting him to be a coach..maybe we are a rabid fan base
Not a hater but if he runs the play called, we would have scored! However, we might not have Heupel now so…
@ soup sandwich! lol
transfers are not vfl’s
I’m pretty sure he graduated from UT! JG gave his all for the Vols. He will always be a VFL. JMO. GBO
He’s got like 2 degrees from UTK. Who died and made you decider of VFL status?

I got nothing but respect for JG! He looks back on it now and realizes those experiences help mold him into the person he is today. 🫡
