I have to say.... I really loved Skillet when I heard "Rebirthing" when I heard Korey sing along in in chorus. It was a sound unique to modern Hard rock. The fusion of a male and female voice was amazing and then I head Awake and Alive.....
Oh my.... what an amazing duo.

Korey built the foundation with the complimentary vocals, but Jen just took it to the next level. I'm so glad because her voice is the perfect balance with John's. I can't imagine songs like Hero, Awake and Alive, Not Gona Die being the same without her. Bless Jen Ledger. ❤️

@@MrMOd3RnW4rF4R3 I'm obviously not a Christian, and ig I was a little bummed about them being Christian, bcos for me religion (Hinduism) focuses more on classical vibe and less about suffering/recovering and more about positive stuff(I don't know about Christian values and I don't want to assume or impose anything)
And I obviously didn't get the metaphors about Jesus n stuff, until people commented about it
So I was bit confused when many songs had emo vibe but they were called "Christian" songs
But who cares, they sound nice and music is the universal language, a good song can unite even the most different of people

Wow what a story and awesome interview
Interesting relationship dynamics happening at 2:44. Corey takes over the question and really comes across as the business manager of the band. Then at 3:45 it's interesting to hear how she felt about being the only woman in the band before Jen. Wanting 'some help on the road'? Sound like she has a lot of influence when everyone else was thinking Jen wasn't a good fit.

Calen Moore it's kind of amazing to me that people didn't know they were a religious band until they saw this interview...I mean if you listen to their lyrics compared to non-religious rock bands' lyrics....it was pretty obvious to me that there was something different about Skillet, and it made perfect sense to me when I found out they were Christians

It is obvious that John is the boss here, no doubt Corey will always be there. Jen and Seth are outsiders but Jen has a lot going for her because of her star-power.

Jen is the most beautiful woman in rock & hugely talented. Her bloke is a very lucky bugger.
When I was 13 and just finished a gig. A guy walked up to me and said that he teaches drums but I have something he can't teach. That something is Feel!

When Jen recorded her first album with Skillet (Awake) she took eight hours to record her part of the album. When you consider that 1) Most bands will record 15 to 25 songs to see which 8-12 sound the best recorded, and 2) A lot of professional drummers will take up to a week to record an album, and 3) The fact that it was her very first album, it's astounding, really. If I weren't 50 years old I'd admit to having a huge crush on her. But that would be creepy. So I won't.
