The fact it was a safe haven for us Catholics during centuries of British oppression with their anti Catholic Penal Laws has made MD an almost mythical land in the American Catholic psyche. As someone who grew up in southern Maryland pray for the churches there that they are restored to there former glory. Although i heard the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea was restored. Never been to it but the photos from my cousins who go there look amazing.
Two things: 1) I'd love to see some edit like this of Moder-day Spain, please! 2) Now I wanna visit Maryland. Didn't know that state had such a great Catholic tradition. Any recommendation about which time of the year is best to visit? Maybe Holy Week?
@missacustodio I'll admit I haven't been to the very Catholic areas of the state, like Emittsburg and the rest of the panhandle. I would like to visit one day. My visits have so far been limited to the ungodly BWI corridor.
