  • SWIFTIES FOR TRUMP
US Presidential Candidate Donald Trump is facing criticism for sharing AI generated images of Taylor Swift to support his campaign. The pictures were shared by Donald Trump on his social media platform, Truth Social. One of them has a caption telling people to vote for Trump, while others are of Swifties wearing shirts that also support Trump. However, most of them are completely AI-generated. The post has sparked a lot of backlash from some Swifties who have accused Trump of spreading misinformation especially when Taylor Swift has actually been quite vocal about her support for his opposition, Kamala Harris, in the past. The whole thing has added to concerns about the rise of AI generated content in politics, especially when a big election is just around the corner.
    DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Meanwhile on the other side of American politics, tens of thousands of Democrats have gathered in Chicago for the party's national conference. US President Joe Biden gave a big speech where he said his goodbyes. By the end of the week, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz will walk away with their official nominations for president and vice-president.
    SUPERMOON
If you looked up into the sky last night, you might have been treated to a rare blue supermoon. From a cloudy Sydney Harbour to the ancient temple of Poseidon in Greece, stargazers around the world enjoyed the moon being a little closer to Earth than usual, making it look a lot bigger than usual. As for the blue moon part? Well, that's not about colour, it's just what it's called when there are two full moons in a month.
    LONDON ZOO WEIGH IN
It's been weigh in day for the animals of London Zoo today. Every year, 400 of London Zoo's animal residents take to the scales with the results of the big day being shared with other zoos around the world to help experts keep track of animals in the wild. Some endangered lion cubs are newcomers to this year's weigh in as well as a camel. As you can imagine, things start to get tricky when it comes to groups of animals like penguins, who all want to get on the scale at the same time.
    400 CONSOLES
It's fair to say Ibrahim Al-Nasser is into retro games, so much so that he's collected more than 400 game consoles. He regularly plays them on the one TV that all 400 consoles are connected to. In case you were wondering, yes, that's a world record.
    BOSNIAN OLYMPICS
The Paris Olympic Games might be over, but a small town in Bosnia is keeping the sporting flame alive. They've just held the annual Nevesinje Olympics, which is a rural sports competition where two teams battle it out in some less than conventional events. Like a sack race, pole climbing, tug-o-war and arm-wrestling.
    SPEED DRAGGING
To a game where the objective is to be dragged behind a moving motorbike - speed dragging. Jonny Davies is a stunt driver from the UK and has just broken the world record for the fastest speed while being dragged behind a motorbike.
