Appreciate all the mods you show brother. There might be something that slips by normally but watching your vids keeps me on top of it, lol. You never say we have to do this or that mod, you put options out there. Some people...LOL. Just like me throwing parts all over the place 😆, keep up the great content.
*You likely won't see this Matt, but for anyone else:
If, like me, you end up with a gaggle of Allen wrenches from various sources. One thing to make them more useful in awkward spots like this is to cut the 90 deg. bend out of them and make handles for the two straight pieces. Just drill a hole in a hardwood dowel or aluminum rod that will be a light press fit for the size Allen wrench you have. Little drop of glue/epoxy and press the Allen wrench into the hole. Machine the handle into whatever shape, size and/or length you need for your hands or use. The short cut piece can be kept short for higher torque needs and the longer piece for lower torque, but longer reach situations. Mark the size on the handle. Go basic or get fancy.
Good to know all this because I do plan on getting one of these to build up for a winter project. It does look like it should help performance greatly. Thanks for sharing
Very cool to see a full kit
thanx for this vid, awsome description, ive been waiting for a all in one bolt on kit and u desctibed it very well, thanx man
Nice! This is exactly what I was waiting for all the time. But now I just ordered the McCue links and longer driveshaft separately. Actually the price seems very attractive considering that the driveshaft is included already. But now I will not buy these. Few days ago I would have placed an order immediately!
It's interesting to me the direction of install on the lowers. At first I was thinking " oops, he's got that upside down" like a clearance link would be but nope lol
Yeah the McCue links are the same way. I have installed them flipped for higher clearance but you kinda have to trim the chassis or the link because they hit one another.
Seems like a worthwhile upgrade, but there's something so odd to me about mounting the shocks to the links vs axles! Lol. Have a good one!
I do the same on all my links, might have even picked it up from you. It makes a huge difference.
Super cool Matt looks great
I was literally just looking at mine last night and this morning. I have the printed arms and are too restricted. Was thinking of making some but will just order a set of these.
Great Video as usual, I like the looks of this kit and think it's pretty awesome it comes with the metal extended driveshaft as well. I already have the McCue links on my power wagon, but might upgrade to some aluminum in the future. There is always a chance my power wagon may become a second MT after Christmas and I see for myself how much fun the Smasher is to run. Have you ran any of your trucks with extended links as a MT and maybe tried using a 1/18 body? That RockVan body would make for an interesting looking MT.
How do you like them compared to the McCue links?
Awesome! I just ordered the mccue ones so hopefully I like them lol
man i love your videos and how you go in details to help some of the new ones to the hobby just like me. i just got the rustic wine one after seeing the pumpkin one that you have but it was out of stock. i think the red rustic still look cool. but i was wondering if the body bed would still fit with the extended links? and would go with these or treal links for it and some other parts like shocks and all in general. "commented before i saw the last 10 sec" 😅
I have always been of the belief that too much flex is absolutely a bad deal when trailing and especially crawling. As it allows for the wheels to drop excessively downwards into a gap or hole in the rock or on a ledge gap which allows the rc vehicle to flip off or be ome caught up and bind up which can cause stress and damage to the rc vehicle. I like a decent amount of flexibility in my crawlers. But I want the suspension to carry the wheel over a gap or hole in the terrain features and keep it from being flipped over by too much flexibility.
I totally agree. That’s why you don’t see any of my rigs flexing out like some peoples. I watch videos and see pics all the time of people showing all that flex and I just laugh because I can imagine those rigs flopping around like a dead fish on the rocks 😆
@@2fmrc i mean I put the 8000kv Godzilla and titanium jacker frame in an SCX24 C10
Now it cocks over about twenty degrees when you punch it
I wonder if anyone's sorted out sway bars for these things yet
i love the videos lately keep it up
I want some for the scx24, but the Mofo version is not extended it seems. I've got a rig that needs some extending.
Also the mofos look like they will get snagged on the shock mount that sticks out of the side of the trailing arm.
These are definitely long, but maybe too long. Lol
35mm is a lot longer, and i would probably need new drive shaft.
Great video! I like the idea of an all-inclusive kit, but 35mm is too much of a stretch. IMO, up to 20mm is a good length and avoids some of the negative aspects of a long wheelbase truck (reduced breakover angle, increased turning radius).
Looks like nice links could have used them months ago but me being a lot like u I made the scx24 links work the second day I had it nice to know though 🔥👍
Thanks for the video, helped me a lot :)
Awesome! Glad to hear it helped
Its the off road wrecker from matts off road recovery lol
I am putting high links and new shocks. Do i use the pivot balls with new shocks. I am a little confused on the pivot balls
What about the Firehorse? Planning some upgrades on any soon?
I’m wanting to extend my FCX 24 out to put on a WPL Toyota body. Do you think the rear extension pieces will make that wheel base long enough
Do you think the TRX4M Bronco body would fit the FCX24?
Have you seen the new axles for fcx24 from Nexxracing? They look cool but no brass....
Yeah I’m not much on the aluminum housings. Not at all for my crawlers. I got a set of cheap metal ones for one of my Smashers for $29. For the set! Not sure how they plan to sell them at $46 each.
Will this kit work with the lemur?
Hey I wondering if you could point me in the right direction for upgrading the shocks for the Max smasher???
I’d put oil in them and run them. They are pretty good shocks with oil in them. Not sure there is much better unless you go with a much bigger body shock like the losi mini ts or Traxxas Trx4m shocks.
@@2fmrc I appreciate the reply.. I tried putting oil in shocks but it leaked out already, an i used the included Origs. It was only 40wit.. ill try to get some heavier fluid.. have a good day bud!
This rcawd rear suspension extension is ok. But I don't see why everyone is extending the rear suspension to make it longer. I have sat the fcx24 next to my scx24 vehicles and for the most part the fcx24 is the same length as the scx24 trucks. Not the gladiator which is obviously longer than the rest of the scx24 vehicles. Doesn't a longer wheel base cause more issues than the stock wheelbase? Unless you are hill climbing all the time a standard length wheelbase runs more consistent and has a better break over angle. Which is beneficial for Better crawling and trailing running. But that's what I have experienced personally with rc crawlers and trail rigs.
You think this would be good for the max smasher
It would work but the body won’t line up anymore
They show pictures of them installed on a Max Smasher on Amazon, it looks absolutely silly, but they could potentially work if you were willing to try to find a body to fit.
Thanks for the video. Do you think they would fit in a stock scx24? I want to build an ultra 4 rig and trailing arms would look good on the rig.
I just checked the website. 85mm is a long stretch for the rear.
I would go with the MofoRC trailing arms for the scx24. I’ve even put them on the fcx and they work well.
@@2fmrc thanks mang!
I'd be tempted to put those in a vise and just tweak them a bit, into an "S" bend so the ball ends are more perpendicular to the mounting screws. I'm guessing this would be better. Anyone done this?
4:10 🤣😂
Injora just came out with some brass high clearance links. Just got done making the trip to the hobby store nine hours later I made it home with a green and red defender. I ordered them months ago going to take the wife and give them a test run ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️. Has anyone come up with a battery adapter for the m battery? Would be nice to run other batteries got some new 1000 mha batteries
Very nice
🔵🔵🔵👍👍👍😀😀😀🔵🔵🔵
I'm having issues with furitek on a. $400.00 order. It's been almost 20 day's and still notching. I have been communicating with Tony and one day he said it's been delivered and then I'll get a notification that the label has just been created ect. This has been going on for a week. Is furitek upstanding or should I be concerned?
Thanks in advance.
I haven’t had any issues with them but I do know that my tracking and shipping from anywhere (or company) overseas is very odd. It’ll update for awhile and then nothing. I’ll almost forget about it and then all of a sudden it shows up one day. I’m very sorry you’re having trouble and hope they get you lined out. Definitely keep me updated on it. Hate to see this happen to anyone.
@@2fmrc thanks bud and I will.
Have you seen there install video of these on smasher they use them on both side look dumb In my opinion
I did see that somewhere. Stretching the smasher is just wrong lol
You have the links installed backwards fyi
No these are actually designed to run that way. Would make more sense to be high clearance but look them up. Not how they were designed for whatever reason lol
Good morning
Good morning! What’s up?!
Just working. So many projects and no time, as usual
Damn I want these but $40 on Amazon on 24th scale parts is tough for me to swallow.
Yeah it’s a tough one for sure when parts like this cost basically 1/4 the entire truck price. It does include the driveshaft which is nice also but I totally understand.
Still appreciate you showing them sir. I just need to get off my butt and 3d print some and rob the driveshaft off my gladiator. My SCXs get less drive time now anyways since getting my FCX.
Well, I received my FCX24 yesterday only to find the instructions tell you nothing save for how to assemble the pat for the back, and when I got it charged I turned it on only to see the red light come on and nothing else. So it looks like it is only good for collecting dust on my shelf. Very disappointed.
