Good video. I think some will never understand paying $400 for a knife but that's ok. We have been thinking about doing a video along these same lines. Very good points you bring up in this vid.
+BirdShot IV thanks for tuning in my fellow blade lovers! it's a topic that i've seen discussed a lot of time but, i wanted to add my own flavor to it.
Nice summary DK. That custom fixed blade I think was meant for the very tasks you mentioned, food prep and hunting. For a general purpose knife do you like that pattern? I like how you discussed the various reasons the knives become collectable. I would guess that the Case knives are the most collected of the bunch.
+Chumgeyser if i'm not mistaken, case xx are the most collected brand in the world and with good reasons, they are functional and affordable and are very diversely made as well as being released in small batches also makes them gain value substantially. the GEC knives are fine fine knives too. in my opinion they surpass the case xx knives by a mile. the J.P. Holmes is a good knife for a lot of reasons. the only detractor from using it in my opinion functionally speaking would be the roundness of the handle might allow the knife to twist in the hand given the right circumstances such as wet or oily hands, blood i would think not so much a problem as blood typically turns tacky and dries quickly.
+Bill22252 i think so. the umnumzaan becomes closer to my heart every time i use it. thanks for letting it go to me! gotten anything new to brag about?
he makes some excellent looking knives. gonna have to see if i can get one from him one of these days. i liked his partial tang utility style knives, they look nice and are light weight yet rugged looking knives.

When I have serious cutting to do, I reach for my Spyderco Tenacious.
+ima4ster that's a good knife for hard work! easy to resharpen.
Nice line up you got there.

I'm afraid not. Just becoming fonder of some of my older stuff, namely my McCullen Knives Utility Fighter.

I've handled his newer stuff with tapered tangs, they are really nice. I got a larger tapered tang on order with him.
+Bill22252 he is a very talented man.
