Neil Whatley: Sustainable Crop Production While Protecting the Environment

Neil Whatley presents notes from the field about the steps farmers are taking to protect the environment while earning a living growing marketable crops. As part of the Climate and Environment Working Group Seminar at the ABS Conference in Atlanta this past summer Neil gave a comprehensive view of food security and environmental challenges. This presentation focuses more directly on agriculture and environmental issues.
About Neil Whatley
Raised on a farm in Saskatchewan, Neil spent ten years working on the family farm and thirty-four years working with farmers in crop agronomy, applied research and rural community development. Neil has a Bachelor’s degree in crop science and a Master’s in adult education and rural social studies. He has worked in Western Canada, West Africa and Latin America. Neil currently lives in Alberta, Canada where he continues to work with farmers.
