I got this game for Christmas from Santa. So far, I unlocked Ness, Wario, Falco, Dark Pit, Dr. Mario, Lucina, Ganondorf, and Bowser Jr. 100-Man Smash always gives me the most trouble. Even the unlockable characters gave me the most trouble (but I haven't unlocked them all). I always try to complete Classic Mode on intensity 4.0 as Mario, and I ended up using a continue, and I didn't unlock Dr. Mario. The only way I unlocked Dr. Mario was by playing versus matches. I also created myself and I chose to be a Mii Brawler, but I decided to not gear myself in equipment.
You're 4 years late, people that play this game definetly unlocked all the characters already, specially since unlocking characters in Smash 4 is really easy. I unlocked all of them by accident, lol.

I know what happens if NOBODY challenges you in this game! I have a hacked 2DS XL with Smash Bros. I installed a mod (Neos) but it gave me all characters when in normal game had a few left. It appeared, the challenger screen but with a withe image, it's just 1 stock no time Mario battle in Magicant. When it ends, the name is corrupted but after that, nothing happens.

When I beat 6.0 intensity with Bowser and I got 30 unique headgear at the same time it gave me Jigglypuff to battle instead.
Actually it’s really easy. All you need to do is 10 matches and 1 character will appear. Keep doing it until it says you unlocked all the characters
There was a cheat to do something like that in brawl. You do a 1 stock regular match, jump of the cliff/run off the stage and it counts as 1 match.
In The *3DS* Version: Unlocking Ness, Falco, Wario, Dark Pit, Lucina, Dr. Mario, R.O.B. & Mr Game & Watch, Are *VERY EASY!*
