Yessssss! Self study is so important in this industry! It moves so quick and if you’re not learning you’ll get left behind! Thanks for this video Lucy! 🤩🙌🏾
Wa-hey! I was waiting for another video here! Key takeaways: - 💡Focus on what brings you closer to your goals, not on putting in tons of hours to learn everything there is to know - 💡Reading about something is one thing - actually getting your hands dirty and doing it helps to solidify and even expand your knowledge Very interesting .. "Learning Roadmap" makes me think of the "curriculum" that we had in school, except we're the ones calling the shots on it. I remember setting up a Trello dividing up all the skills I wanted to learn for a mid/senior Software Engineer and it was really satisfying studying and testing myself and then moving the cards to "Done" at the end! And I did end up getting a job after doing this. The power of self-learning is really something! Thanks for the video Lucy! 💯
Great video Lucy! 😘 One of my own issues when it comes to self-study is discipline or lack of motivation especially if when having a full-time job studying other stuff after work gets tiring and can lead to burnout. What I typically try to do is just try to enjoy the process and review the reasons why I'm trying to learn something. There's always something new to learn so its better to pace yourself for the future.
It all starts with understanding the big picture. Mapping out the exact courses related to the dream goal that will push my career forward. Thank you for these insightful tips Lucy😊🙌😊
I love the “I get to do this” mantra! Might be off topic, but it reminded me of a part in the book, Factfulness, which divides people’s income in 4 levels (with 1-3 ranging from $1-16/day and 4 more than $64/day). The author mentioned in the book that we readers might most likely be in the 4th level (and I think in some cases, 3rd) to be having the “luxury” to be reading the book. And that mantra you mentioned reminded me of just that!-that many of us who had the accessibility and time to watch your videos to learn about the cloud, may equally have that exact same opportunity/luxury and that we have to always not to take that for granted. Thanks for sharing your study tips and nuggets as always✨
Thank you Lucy all of these are good, but I really liked your note taking strategy and will try it out. Plus, love what you said about I get to do this instead of I have to do this. That can be applied to many things in life not just studying for a cert.
This "cloud journey" got me shook. Have been trying to learn ALL of DevOps at once. Too overwhelming. Goin to a place called nowhere fast. Better strategy is to know what a specific job requires and what questions will be in the interview. Just define and study that. Vid was what I needed. On another note. We need some "Tech With Lucy" swag. Full zip hoodies (black) with logo on front. Also, heavyweight cotton if possible. Size (M). Chest 38 -40. This is for study motivation and confidence during the interview. Thanks!
being a mother it is very tough to me get time for studies, after watching u r video i am thinking to follow u strategies to reach my goal ,moreover i like gaming strategy i think it is quite interesting.....
Thank you lucy for this video!❤ I'm in the process of learning about cloud computing. Whether you're a fellow beginner or an expert, I'm excited to connect and embark on this learning journey together. Let's make learning enjoyable and educational!
Hey what's up Lucy/!! Thank you so much for these great strategies for learning! My favorite is Taking notes. I'm a tactical learner, If I write it down I remember it better! And I have a technique where I go back and read my notes over like a new text and highlight my notes as well so that helps drill the material into my brain and it's locked in now!😁 I appreciate all that you do for us and as always, be well, be safe and Cheers!!!
If I may ask how come you stop working as an AWS Solutions Architect? I’m looking to learn AWS Architect right away and I’ve looked on LinkedIn and there are some jobs that say Entry Level but in the requirements also say 5-10 year’s experience and Bachelor’s degree etc. I don’t have any degree unfortunately. I know I’m looking way ahead but I just want to see what I’ll be getting myself into and hopefully land a tech job.

My favorite strategy of the five was 1. Start broad, Not deep, and 2. Learn just enough. Thanks! (I'm a laid off older IT worker)
