This is such a good song. First time hearing it, it preps you for the tone of the game, the second time (reuniting) just screams "this is what matters, Family."
I cry every time I listen to this song...and I've come back many times. Someone very close to me was a pianist & brilliant piano teacher, and I used to come home to the sound of her music. Somewhere between dementia and her illness the keys fell silent...and I understood the pain of missing someone who's still here. I couldn't give a shit about Somerville; what you did with this piece of music was profound and invoked a far greater emotional response than I could've imagined. Well done.
Beautiful piece. Simple but so effective. A family theme, it has it all - hapiness, sadness, longing, tension but love above all else. I was just dissecting Somerville soundtrack looking for cues, loops and stings. I'm at the begining of composers journey taking my first baby steps. Wish me luck!
This soundtrack and especially this piece in particular is a testament to how great of an impact beautiful music has on a game. Amazing piece. I bought the sheet music to learn it myself

Everything sound related from this game is marvelous. No words can describe the amount of awe I had during the gameplay, even if some parts dragged a bit. But even then, the sound design and OST carried the whole experience. And this track. Wonderful way to open a videogame and get you hooked start to finish. I believe strongly that you would find commonground with his work. For me, Tom's music means many emotions and moments to me, and by this alone you're immediately up there for me. Should you two ever compose together...that'd be something to stick to the mind.
