- What a send off to our 42 day vlog challenge! We stumble across this amazing event as we arrive to our end point of this leg of the journey!
We've driven all the way from Cornwall, the UK, to above the arctic circle in Norway in our trusty old ford transit van! We've been heading towards a wedding in Estonia and we've finally made it!

Who are we? 💁🏼♀️
We're Tom and Iz, who live and travel in our van La Bamba. We love nature and are currently traveling in Finland!
You might find Tom in the forest IDing a mushroom, fixing something or starting an ambitious project with his laid-back relaxed approach whereas you could find Isabel cooking up a storm, sunning herself on a beach and being a busy, energetic bee with her endless enthusiasm and positivity! We are total opposites but it works!
How did we end up here?! 😁 ⏮
We met 10 years ago when we were both finishing our A-levels and had a whirlwind summer romance, hitch-hiking around France together before before going our separate ways to travel and to university. We've both always prioritised travel and adventure and have worked hard over the years in hospitality jobs to enable us to keep exploring.
Tom hitch-hiked across Europe and road tripped around Australia whilst Iz studied Environmental Science at York. Iz backpacked around South America with her sister whilst Tom studied Forestry at Aberdeen University. Little did we know we just weren't going to get each other out of our minds! Fast forward 4 years later, we found ourselves in campsite warden jobs, living in a bell tent in a wild flower meadow together! Maybe without realising this was the start of our van life journey!
Next, we both trained to be science teachers and during training, we bought a van, ripped out it's interior and converted it to live in it. Iz managed to get a remote work-from-home job that she could do from the van and Tom was passionate about starting up a UA-cam channel.
Since then we haven't looked back and when the pandemic allowed us to, we travelled to Spain, Portugal, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and around Cornwall. We are now on a big European road trip! We are giving it our best shot to do UA-cam full time. We have a dream of one day owning a little plot of land and building ourselves a cabin in the woods. Our message on our channel is to inspire others to do what they love as life is too short! We love living simply, freely with less stuff but more time!

Everyone loves a bonus party, hahaha. That fire was crazy big I think you could have cooked a spud from 5m away. Next midsummer I will make sure I turn up with a couple pre wrapped in my pockets

Missed you after the past few days!
A trip to Slovenia would be rewarding, if funds allow. If not, following the German coast of the Baltic would reveal some good sights. The island of Rugen has some hidden sights including a huge edifice built by the Nazis. Horrible background, but amazing. Schwerin, a bit inland, has a fantastic fairy castle. Lubeck - with its marzipan!
Yes, I have heard Lübeck is very nice, home of the hanseatic league! Would have been brilliant to explore as we have been to many city’s now that where heavily influenced by them (lüneburg, Bergen and Tallinn). We are actually planning on heading south through Slovenia towards Bulgaria, Romania ext as they are not in the Schengen and we have a time limit within the Schengen zone of 90 day in the last 180.

We didn’t film at the wedding as I’m sure you can understand so unfortunately not. By the time of the reception we were both well into our cups, hahaha. I think our route is southward! We need to get out of the Schengen as we now have to have visas to visit. Our plan is to head to the south east of Europe to escape Schengen but extend our time in Europe

We will fill you in properly but I (Tom) have had a lot of time in Estonia and love it. Isabel had to leave for a bit, but going to spend a bit more time in Estonia yet!
Actually, traditional Estonian and Finnish kali/kalja is not made of black bread, but instead it's made of rye and barley malt. It tastes similar to Russian, Latvian, Lithuanian etc kvass, but is made a bit differently. 🙂
Kali is actually traditional beer. Back in times it tasted same but was more % in it.

We are continuing, we need to escape the Schengen as our visas will becoming to and end soon. We are planing on heading south towards Bulgaria and the south east of Europe

Hi, you do not need to pay attention to the toll bill, Norway has no payment agreement with Uk
Doh! I wish we had known, we actually got on our friend to add us to his toll account. It came to about £200 in total, so not to bad really
