Mark Samek don't forget the 1st gen lightning and the only problem I have with the cyclone is you can't put shit in the back of it which kind of disqualifies it as a pick up ?
I wouldn't put the Extreme on the list, and for the Lightning, I'd have chosen the '04 that was rated at 380 bhp with a 0-60 in 5.4. Lastly, I'd have included the late model Silverado SS.
the lightning had the higher top speed over the syclone, but the syclone could run 0-60 in the high 4s and the 1/4mile in the low 13s which makes it the quickest truck on the list
The lightning 5.4 is a different engine than the Cobras/ Mauraders. The Lightning has an f-150 triton 16v V8 and the Cobras have a 32v V8. I don't think much is left to speculate...
The syclone should be number 1, it is to this date the fastest production truck ever built. Not the lighting. Also the S10 w code, first gen w code 200hp 4.3 was killed off in 95, the Xtreme got the second gen w that made 190hp. First gen ran from 92-95.
Not to mention the "lil red express" which had more HP than the corvette that year. You gotta Mopar at number #1 but it the wrong one. That ram is as heavy as a pontoon boat.
No, +Adam Woolley, the 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 SRT10 would make mincemeat out of the 1978 Dodge Adventurer 100 Lil' Red Express/Midnight Special/Warlock. You want to REALLY impress someone with a classic truck game, how about you go to the model of truck that Dodge had PRIOR to the Adventurer/Ram body, specifically, the Sweptline (which also looked good, and kind of Chevrolet/GMC like, oddly enough) and soup up a Dude model of that truck with an engine that is sourced from a high performance version of a Dodge Charger/Charger Daytona/Challenger/Coronet/Super Bee or Plymouth Barracuda/'Cuda/Road Runner/Road Runner Superbird or turn the fuck out of that engine until it reaches numbers in the terms of horsepower and torque that rival the Hellcat Demon engines of the top of the line Dodge Challenger of modern times, thus YOU have the wrong one here. Furthermore, the Viper engine is sourced from a vehicle that has rivaled the Chevrolet Corvette in the terms of many track races as well as endurance races, most notably the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
03-06 SS Silverado> extreme s10. I'm sorry but you can't beat the sound of a 6.0 liter grumble. Plus naturally aspirated makes the same as induced. So just slap a blower or a turbo on that 6.0, and you'll make some serious horsepower.
I drove the typhon alot when i younger. A friend had one. Fastest thing I've drove. And crazy fast for teenagers to have. Made me fall in love with turbos. Currently building a turbo 4.3 to go in a 99 Tacoma
Aldair delibrado-1967 Royal Plum L-79/M-21 12 bolt w/4:56 Black Bench seat El Camino rolled off the line ordered that way car spent first 7 years or so as a purpose ordered drag car had a 66' Knee Knocker tach in it that's my choice for El Caminos and what I learned to drive in, it didn't have the L-79 motor or the gears by then tho @ the time I was driving it had a L-48 350/300 turning 3:55's though my dad stumbled upon a guy at the Portland Swap Meet w/ a L-79 on rollers w/ great back story of being from factory ordered drag raced supposedly Rare paint code 67 El Camino my dad said hair stood up on his neck called his buddy he had sold it to, by then probably early to mid 90's an had him get the Trim plate out started ready the #'s to my dad over pay phone lol at the old Portland Expo Center an guess what it was the original# matching L-79 motor my dad gave the guy a check to hold it tell guy got down there. Back in ‘04/‘05 I️ use to blow the doors off SRT10’s in my ‘03 Lightning all day long. Had a cat back pulley intake and tune about 1200 bucks all in at $34k vs $45k and a fortune for aftermarket parts
Bro, you need to get your facts straight on the Srt-10. You showed a single cab( 5100lbs) and gave 4 door automatic numbers. 0-60 in 4.9 and 13.1 in the 1/4.
What you basing this on? Top HP rating? I think there are more deserving trucks than the Xtreme and I don't think the SRT10 should be number 1. There's the 454SS, which was underpowered but its still more of a muscle truck than an Xtreme. I agree with Wesley, what about the Lil Red Express or the El Camino 454SS? And what about the Ford Tumor and Raptor, the Silverado SS and the Shelby Dakota? Even Toyota had the X-runner and TRD Tundra. Personally, I think the Syclone should be at number one.
I don't know where you got your times man...the srt 10 record for 0 to 60 was 4.9 seconds. 1/4 mile was low 13's. And the lightning...in 2003 the upped the hp to 380. It did 0 to 60 in 5.1-5.2 seconds and the 1/4 mile in thé mid to high 13's...
I had a 94 Dakota single cab with the 318 and a 5 spd. Beat 4.3 chevys and r/t Dakota all the time. Also had a 04 joe gibbs Silverado 5.3 that was charged. Only got to race one lightning and beat'em and out ran my bros new, at the time, 05 mustang. The guy I knew with the srt10 was scared to race. Don't know how that would've turned out.
My list of muscle & performance trucks would be: # Ford Ranchero GT # El Camino 454 SS # Little Red Express # Shelby Dakota 5.2 & Later 5.2 # F-150 Lightning 351 # 454 SS C/K # Syclone 4.3 # Dakota RT 5.9 # F-150 Lightning 5.4 Supercharge # RAM Sport Truck/ Super Bee 5.7 # Harley Davidson F-150 5.4 SC # RAM SRT 10 8.2 # Lincoln Blackwood 5.4 4v # Silverado SS 6.0 # Sierra Denali 6.0 # Cadillac Escalade EXT 6.0 # F-150 Tremor 3.5 TT # Silverado 6.2 Late models # Sierra 6.2 Late models # RAM 5.7 Sport Late models # F-150 302 Coyote Late models Although some of these are not muscle trucks, they make for some fast sleeper trucks. For example an 2015 single cab RAM Sport with an 8 speed auto is a fast truck along with other v8 models from Ford and Chevrolet.
I would have personally chosen the obs lightning. I do have one thing to argue though. the srt 10. I dont find the v10 to be exactly muscle per say but definantly deserves a spot on the list considering the out right speed these trucks can get to.
exactly we are only talking ahout out of the box potential there are plenty of trucks out there 100x more powerful...but this was more of a stock production/ reliability ....otherwise i would have thrown the little red dodge truck in there😈
As for the dodge truck... The pickup had the v10 first when the viper came out they borrowed the v10 for the car! You must of not done hardly any research.... You didn't even mention the first real hot rod truck! The dodge little red express.
The v10 vipers had was actually alot different than the magnum v10. When Chrysler bought out lambo they helped development of the viper. The first pickup to use the viper engine never got put into production due to being an insurance nightmare and a hell of a handful taking it nickname the sidewinder. Sidewinder was a prototype dakota rt with a 6spd but it took its name seriously with the tail goin side ways everytime you got in the throttle.
Ya there's definitely a couple trucks that should have been out in front of those first two. The '92 Chevy 454ss, Dodge Lil Red Express and the SS Silverado
RC create Yes they're both Badass the Syclone & the Typhoon plus all of the cars, The Grand Nation, T-Type, GNX, Turbo Trans Am which had the same engine from the GNX and the Turbo GrandPrix That had a 3.1L Garret Turbo supplied by Mclarren! From the mid 80's to the early 90's GM was doing the Turbo shit long before all these ricer's did and now it's like they invented the fucking wheel! Good luck brother I hope you get your dream car just keep saving and you'll get there, just becareful who you buy from get a nice clean one, if you see any performance part's on it you know it's been beat on pull the plug and walk! Try to get one that look's like it just came off the showroom floor you'll pay more but you'll be driving it more then you will fixing it! ☺
The S10 info is all wrong. The 96-98 S10 SS was a standard cab only truck with a the much better L35 4.3. The Extreme that came out in 99 used the body cladding but the lower horsepower 4.3
Anyone else find it strange that of the 3 actual muscle trucks on the list, the slowest is number 1? I guess winning a drag race doesn't account for anything anymore! And as far as the extreme goes......lol they were birthing canals for all those bearded guys with manicures!
Hello, um any chance you could put these up against a Ford falcon typhoon f6 and v8 model as well :-) Also holden do a reasonable job of a pick up also called a maloo. Yea so hope you'll enjoy. Thanks Jazza
in 2009-12 you could get the GMC Canyon or Chevy Colorado with a 5.3 V8 and the ZQ8 (sport) package. this is a very Rare combo, and way more deserving to be on the list than the S10 IMO.
Though the Dodge Dakota R/T 5.9, and the Shelby Dakota, are both nice trucks, in the terms of sheer raw power, the Dodge Ram that was shown in this video would honestly obliterate both trucks, +Adam Woolley.
jr ftworth i had 00 dakota rt that ran 14.9 with a cut air box, exhaust, and a tune. Not bad for 245hp at the crank from the factory. Put a 100 shot of nitrous to it and it ran 13.7. If dodge would have supercharged it or put 6 spd in em from the factory they would have been as fast or faster than the lighting stock for stock.
The ford f150 lighting isnt really a detuned version of the ford gt and gt500 yes it does use the same 5.4 modular engine but it is a 2v while the gt and gt500 are a 4v
srt10 all the fucking way man. As soon as my current (might trade) car is paid off I WILL be getting a single cab srt10 dodge ram. These trucks are vicious.
Yes they are vicious, angry, piss people off, but yeah, they are nasty. I have one along with my 2013 Charger SRT-8. The SRT-10 isn't the daily driver, not surprisingly.
I guess you just gone forget the harley Davidson truck?? Só disrespectful bro an it was nice lookin with factory chrome rims!!!!oh an might I add Supercharged!!!!!!😠💪😲
1998 Dodge Dakota R/T Compare Car 0-60 mph 6.9 | Quarter mile 15.2. 1999 Dodge Dakota R/T Compare Car 0-60 mph 7.6 | Quarter mile 16.0. That's the only two they had on 0-60 times. The times must have not changed if they did not mention them.
Muscle trucks = Dodge Lil Red Express Truck, GMC Syclone, Chevy 454 SS, Dodge Ram SRT10, Ford Lightning
1. Lightning
2. Cyclone
3. silverado SS/454SS
4. Dakota 5.9 RT
Mark Samek don't forget the 1st gen lightning and the only problem I have with the cyclone is you can't put shit in the back of it which kind of disqualifies it as a pick up ?
Mark Samek. Cyclones are faster then them all.
Mark Samek cyclone then lighting and the rest don't matter .
Stock silverado ss run high 13 to low 14s
benchmstr he'll no
lol u chose the S10 over a Dakota RT?
I love the look of the ford f150 lighting.its my dream truck
I wouldn't put the Extreme on the list, and for the Lightning, I'd have chosen the '04 that was rated at 380 bhp with a 0-60 in 5.4. Lastly, I'd have included the late model Silverado SS.
Sorry, but the 02-03 supercharged Harley Davidson edition F150's shouldve definitely beat out the S10.
I'm surprised the Dakota R/T didn't make it in over the Xtreme. At one point the R/T was the best handling pickup ever built.
Dude. The Syclone should have been first. It's faster than the Ford or dodge.
The 5.4l in the GT500 and GT are 4v Motors the 5.4l was a 2v truck engine just with a supercharger slapped on it
what about the 454 ss ?
i was deciding between the syclone and the 454 but the syclone has more hp and awd. but just like the 90s lighting the 454 is pretty badass
Mr Random Reviews I have an 02 Harley Davidson edition f-150 that will run circles around an srt-10. that srt-10 was useless
You know Dodge also had the Dakota RT, and Toyota had the Tacoma X-runner.
And the Dakota RT was a lot better than the Extreme.
Joe Neri The dodge ya but Toyota that's no muscle truck Ford Chevy & dodge are the only companies that made muscle trucks ever
Man that Lightning tho🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I knew the lightning was going to be in here
the lightning had the higher top speed over the syclone, but the syclone could run 0-60 in the high 4s and the 1/4mile in the low 13s which makes it the quickest truck on the list
The lightning also ran 13's. And it's a heavy full sized truck.
And it took almost twice the horse power to even come close
The lightning is still the fastest (1/4 mile) production truck ever made. They always ate SRT10’s for lunch
Be getting my SRT-10 in a few days.
Completely stock Quad cab.
So Ima just have to slowly PIMP it out with awesome goodies!!!
Dakota r/t should be on this
number 1 on the list but the 1/4 mile time is still slower than the lightning... somebody sounds biased
the extreme was a body kit that's all that's just an average s10
Exactly. The SS was the only "performance" version of the 2nd gen s10. The sy/ty trucks were the only true performance S series truck
Aaron Dunlap the SS only had 5hp more.
Aaron Dunlap the Xtreme also got the zq8 suspension package. Great handling truck but still slow
I had a 2001 s10 extreme and there was absolutely nothing muscle about that truck. It looked nice but other than that it was a dog.
Aaron Dunlap also the extreme wasn't around in 96 lol
The lightning 5.4 is a different engine than the Cobras/ Mauraders. The Lightning has an f-150 triton 16v V8 and the Cobras have a 32v V8. I don't think much is left to speculate...
no lil red express? in its day it was faster than ferraris and t/a's
the little red express was a heck of alot quicker than the extream. the express would hit 60 in 6.6sec. it was no joke
Wesley Ronne Mopar doesnt get much love on this channel...You love Mopars go to Tall Guy Car Reviews channel. HELLCATS and more
Bryant Roscoe yeah I'm starting to see that. A regular 5.2 Dakota would rape s-10 extreme.
They never made a 1996 Xtreme S10. They had the S10 SS from 96-98. Same Vortec 4.3L but the Xtreme didn't even come out til 1999.
That Shelby F-150 and Shelby Raptor though......
The syclone should be number 1, it is to this date the fastest production truck ever built. Not the lighting. Also the S10 w code, first gen w code 200hp 4.3 was killed off in 95, the Xtreme got the second gen w that made 190hp. First gen ran from 92-95.
The gmc is my fave , Matt Farrah did a review on one a while back
GMC Syclones are still the fastest stock trucks
For one yes they did make a Ford lightning in the 90s And you put A S10 extreme in here over a 1990 454 SS
The Mopar on this list should undoubtedly be a Dakota RT. It had a real power to weight ratio and could decently handle, unlike an SRT ram.
03-06 SS Silverado> extreme s10. I'm sorry but you can't beat the sound of a 6.0 liter grumble. Plus naturally aspirated makes the same as induced. So just slap a blower or a turbo on that 6.0, and you'll make some serious horsepower.
The syclone should be number 1. It is also faster than a lightning turd. Also faster than the srt 10 Dodge.
LOL, The 02-04 Lightning eats those Syclones up on the track!
You forgot about the dodge ram warlock and the Dodge ram lil red express
I drove the typhon alot when i younger. A friend had one. Fastest thing I've drove. And crazy fast for teenagers to have. Made me fall in love with turbos. Currently building a turbo 4.3 to go in a 99 Tacoma
My list:
1 Ram SRT10
2 SVT lightning
3 454ss
4 El Camino/Ford Ranchero (Tie)
Jacob Allen that Holden Murloo thing rules if we're talking car trucks lol
Jacob Allen I
Jacob Allen lightning on top bro

Red ford lightning is my next project lol
Clean ass ford lightning
thats what i said!
Stemsy I have a 93
Mr Random Reviews ya
The Racing Garage the 93 lightings looks way better than the 2000 ford lightning.
The blue lightning belongs to @blowerwhore on instagram.
That cyclone was set up like a grand national pretty much huh?
no
It's a 4.3 not a 3.8
Different motor, different turbo, and awd. So, no it wasn't set up like the gnx
u can't call it muscle if it has a v6
Everyone always forget the Dakota R/T...
Bro, you need to get your facts straight on the Srt-10. You showed a single cab( 5100lbs) and gave 4 door automatic numbers. 0-60 in 4.9 and 13.1 in the 1/4.
My 96 Dakota back in the day used to walk all over the S10 extreme
The fastest production truck in the worl..RWAAAAAAAAAAAA
V6 is considered muscle?
Sergio Corral try a Grand National and see...
The grand national with a 3.8l turbo v6 spanked v8 corvettes during the late 80s
What you basing this on? Top HP rating? I think there are more deserving trucks than the Xtreme and I don't think the SRT10 should be number 1. Why wasn't any of the motortrend muscle trucks on this list where's my roadkill muscle truck?
Dakota rt 360 was an awesome truck
And also, should look into revising this list. The Roush Nitemare 07 and up is the fastest production pickup truck ever made.
The hell is the 454 and the Chevy Silverado ss with the 6.0 all wheel drive come on man you killin me
I don't know where you got your times man...the srt 10 record for 0 to 60 was 4.9 seconds. 1/4 mile was low 13's. And the lightning...in 2003 the upped the hp to 380. It did 0 to 60 in 5.1-5.2 seconds and the 1/4 mile in thé mid to high 13's...
Nope the lightning put out 390 hp dude the GMC lightning put out 270 advertised horsepower but it made around 300
should've called your video the top 4 fastest muscle pickups cus they are more than 4 muscle trucks
I wanna race a viper truck with my cummins. Just to see how i would do.im about 50 hp less but im like 300 more ft lbs of torque. Should be fun.
The extreme dates are off! And you forgot so many trucks that I’m embarrassed for you! May god have mercy on your soul
You forgot one dodge for a muscle truck . It's called th Dakota sport v8
I saw a truck the other day and I can't remember what brand it was. It had those side pipes and a badass exhaust note
My list of muscle & performance trucks would be:
# Ford Ranchero GT
# El Camino 454 SS
# Little Red Express
# Shelby Dakota 5.2 & Later 5.2
# F-150 Lightning 351
# 454 SS C/K
# Syclone 4.3
# Dakota RT 5.9
# F-150 Lightning 5.4 Supercharge
# RAM Sport Truck/ Super Bee 5.7
# Harley Davidson F-150 5.4 SC
# RAM SRT 10 8.2
# Lincoln Blackwood 5.4 4v
# Silverado SS 6.0
# Sierra Denali 6.0
# Cadillac Escalade EXT 6.0
# F-150 Tremor 3.5 TT
# Silverado 6.2 Late models
# Sierra 6.2 Late models
# RAM 5.7 Sport Late models
# F-150 302 Coyote Late models
Although some of these are not muscle trucks, they make for some fast sleeper trucks. For example an 2015 single cab RAM Sport with an 8 speed auto is a fast truck along with other v8 models from Ford and Chevrolet.
My old 1976 ford stepside runs 12.07 with a garage built 390 fe engine in it..with a 1.7 60 foot time and 110mph in the quarter..on pump gas
What about the SVT Adrenaline? When Ford phased out the lightning they dumped the 390 hp 4.6 v8 into a lowered all wheel drive sport Trac.
The 454ss should've been on here
I would have personally chosen the obs lightning. I do have one thing to argue though. the srt 10. I dont find the v10 to be exactly muscle per say but definantly deserves a spot on the list considering the out right speed these trucks can get to.

+Mr Random Reviews lol. If only diesel was on the list duramax all the way and cummins. And only two powerstrokes. I'm a diesel guy
i love the syclone
Ford made lighting in the 90s with the 5.8 liter which i thought was a pretty awesome truck.
As for the dodge truck... The pickup had the v10 first when the viper came out they borrowed the v10 for the car! You must of not done hardly any research.... You didn't even mention the first real hot rod truck! The dodge little red express.
But what about the viper coming out in 1992?
Xavier Crawford the V10 engine in the 92 viper was based off of the V10 used in Dodge trucks before
Danny Allen Mopar said that the Viper never had the same engine as the Ram. Shared displacement only.
That's true. Although the V10 in the truck was an iron block, while the Viper was aluminum.
The v10 vipers had was actually alot different than the magnum v10. When Chrysler bought out lambo they helped development of the viper. The first pickup to use the viper engine never got put into production due to being an insurance nightmare and a hell of a handful taking it nickname the sidewinder. these trucks are awesome
Ya there's definitely a couple trucks that should have been out in front of those first two. The '92 Chevy 454ss, Dodge Lil Red Express and the SS Silverado
I knew the syclone was going to be in this. this is my dream truck

Ya his list is wrong 4.3 0-60
Brian H Maybe the fastest accelerating pickup truck in 91 not the fastest vehicle
I have always liked the 69 -72 chevy 402 trucks
The S10 info is all wrong. The 96-98 S10 SS was a standard cab only truck with a the much better L35 4.3. The Extreme that came out in 99 used the body cladding but the lower horsepower 4.3
My neighbor has one but his Auto I didn't know you could get them in standard nice💪👍👍
Thanks Jazza
in 2009-12 you could get the GMC Canyon or Chevy Colorado with a 5.3 V8 and the ZQ8 (sport) package. this is a very Rare combo, and way more deserving to be on the list than the S10 IMO.
yay 01 f150 showed up on the list im only happy because i have one that resembles a lightning
Apparently yanko made a 2018 800horsepower silverado. :D plus do not forget get the 740horsepower f150 Shelby. :)
Up for speculation ? The GT and the GT500 have 5.4 DOHC 4v’s completely different animal from
The JUNK 2v design
Where in gods name is the Dakota R/T 5.9?!?! Are you kidding me??
Though the Dodge Dakota R/T 5.9, and the Shelby Dakota, are both nice trucks, in the terms of sheer raw power, the Dodge Ram that was shown in this video would honestly obliterate both trucks, +Adam Woolley.
Adam Woolley probably in a garage somewhere getting fixed
jr ftworth i had 00 dakota rt that ran 14.9 with a cut air box, exhaust, and a tune. Not bad for 245hp at the crank from the factory. Put a 100 shot of nitrous to it and it ran 13.7. If dodge would have supercharged it or put 6 spd in em from the factory they would have been as fast or faster than the lighting stock for stock.
You beat me to it!
I rather chose the lightning, just a pulley swap intake and tune...srt10 would see ntn but taillights
Engine swap on the ford ranger?
The ford f150 lighting isnt really a detuned version of the ford gt and gt500 yes it does use the same 5.4 modular engine but it is a 2v while the gt and gt500 are a 4v
The syclones were busting low 13s, still the fastest production trucks for 1/4mi
one of the 1st true muscle trucks was made by dodge. it was call THE DUDE. anybody remember that.
LightningDad13 never heard of it but I looked it up looks cool
They had a ford lighting in the 90s haha it's cool tho
The srt10 ram is a monster
Some new 5.0 STD cabs are running 13.5s! V6 muscle truck...lol
The ford gt and gt500 use the same 5.4L block from the lightning. Not the other way around.
srt10 all the fucking way man. As soon as my current (might trade) car is paid off I WILL be getting a single cab srt10 dodge ram. These trucks are vicious.
Check Out My 2006 Dodge Ram SRT-10! It Has A Cam And Heads!
The Dodge Ram 1500 Rumble Bee, which was made around the same time as that truck, is also not a bad investment as well, +Kevin Orellana.
Forgot about Shelby dodge Dakota. First production mini truck with v8
I do like the svt vehicles great cars and trucks cobra mustang svt and 150 svt pick up.
Wheres the 454 SS Silverado at???
How did you not put the roadkill muscle truck in this video
The 5.4 in the ford had a different motor it was a single overhead cam while the gt and Shelby gt500 were dual overhead cams
The later 2nd generation Lightning’s had 380 horsepower. I think the 1999 and 2000 model year had 360 and then they bumped up to 380 hp after that.
13.8 for f150 and 14.2 for the ram in the 1/4 how is that possible ?the ram makes way more horsepower and torque
Nice to see my neighbors at cosmos made the cut with the Lightning
this is stupid there not muscle trucks a muscle truck has a V8 not a V6....
the 2002 dodge Dakota rt? 5.9l
Elvyn Ortiz I want one so bad
I don't like em
Elvyn Ortiz na that v6 s10 beat it out same as 454 ss or the little read express ect all you can do is face palm
Thought the viper ran 8.0 then 8.4......where did 8.3 liter come in? Plz explain
Arguably, the 454ss and new SS could be added to make a top 6.
The Xtreme was not offered until 99' I had one with the 4.3 5 speed.
