Looked up the studio version of this track and realized how much better it is live... she tweaks the chorus melody live and it's adds so much. Great voice either way.
I saw their next set in San Francisco & this was def a stand-out track for me. The tone of the bass was incredible! Does anyone know who is playing with her on this tour? She introduced the band, but only in Spanish. I thought I heard the surname Rodríguez-López, but I wasn’t sure. Someone help!
Further to everyone's previous comments, yes, that's Marfred Rodriguez-Lopez on Bass/Keys and Riko Rodriguez-Lopez on Guitar/Keys, both brothers of The Mars Volta's Omar RL and both members of Teri's band Le Butcherettes prior to her current work as a soloist. By the way, Marfred and Riko are also in the band Zechs Marquise along with another brother Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez (who's also a member of TMV). (It's fun to see their playing and their hairstyles from ten years ago: ua-cam.com/video/yThbmFpjs_g/v-deo.html ) But, actually, the TGB band drummer for this tour isn't Alejandra Robles Luna, who also was in Le Butcherettes before Teri "went solo." It's Audrey Paris Johnson, who plays with/in about five bands in the Bay Area! By the way, the current Mars Volta live drummer, Philo Tsoungui, contributes some drumming to Teri's current EP "Saturn Sex." Excited for a TBG headline tour!!! It's the only date of the tour that I missed tracking / following along with on Instagram, enjoying more Teri and how unique she made each show. 🤞
