Thanks for your videos and explains. I like your channel a lot. You explain everything in nice way and you give nice extended information. Thanks for that.
+Andre Kreitlein it's my pleasure and I am pleased you are enjoying my Lightroom tutorials. I am trying to keep up to date with all the new Lightroom features as they come out. The Lightroom guided transform tool is a great little addition to the Lightroom toolbox. Happy editing.
Adobe's trying harder and harder to make us standalone Lightroom users switch to their paid subscription package. A cost I can't quite justify, yet. I can certainly see a use for the guided feature in some of my photos. But alas, I'll have to do without, no thanks to Adobe! Nice hop dance by the way Ed, and as usual, another fine tutorial! You're the man! 👊👊
+TC Conner thank you so much for the comment. I don't this this tool alone can justify an upgrade although the subscription for Lightroom CC and photoshop is super cheap and I think it is well worth it, but then again I use it for work. I am sure there will be a bigger Lightroom update later in the year at which point it may bring course for an upgrade. Good luck.
+Dala Leao thank so much you message is much appreciated. I am indeed trying to keep on top of all Lightroom cc updates. I love this guided transform tool in Lightroom, it's a handy little addition. Happy editing.
Holy MOLLIE!!! This just shaved about 5 minutes from my Real Estate Photos work flow per image. (Note about 45 images). I am currently using the edit in Photoshop then using adaptive wide angle. I'm glad you pointed it out I must have missed the update!
happy you like this new lightroom feature. it is great although nowhere near as powerful as adaptive wide angle in photoshop. The only deals with straight lines, it will not make cured lines straight which is why you should apply lens corrections first. Great little feature though.
thanks. there's another important step though - the prep work before taking the shot. if convergence hasn't been planned for when you try to fix afterward you stand loosing areas of the image you wanted to keep, basically during composition make sure there's enough room around the subject to allow for the crop
Very true. Depending on how you shoot your photo you could end up cropping your image a lot inside the Lightroom guided transform tool. Great thinking and thanks for sharing. Happy editing.
it takes a lot to be a hero. I am super happy you have put me up there but i really think the awesomeness lives in the Lightroom guided transform tool. Its awesome.
Certainly a nice new feature if you're doing architecture, but not an update I can see myself rushing to The Pirate Bay for like I did with the boundary warp update :P Great tutorial as always, Ed!
So happy you enjoyed this tutorial. Not sure why you would ever go to TPB to update Lightroom CC. you should go through adobe. They have hundreds of engineers doing and mazing job of improving the product,. Just like you for their work they deserve to get paid. I do not agree in any way with illegal downloads.
Thanks for your video. But can you help me on matter? I am Nikon user and my lense is Nikkor 50MM 1.8G but in camera profile, I get 50mm 1.8D. Will it be any problem? Also, I have to manually insert camera profile each time I click the tick mark box, it doesn't fetch camera information automatically.
+Faisal Khan the 1.8d won't make any difference at all. This is only looking at any distortion and on a 50mm there won't be much so not to worry. Somethings this happens with certain in camera and lens configurations. It's only a few clicks though. Have you tried it with someone else's camera and lens to see if it still happens. Happy you like this Lightroom upgrade with the guided transform tool in Lightroom CC. It's awesome.
this is very similar to one of the transform tools in photoshop, perspective warp. It's essentially doing the same thing, but this one is nice that you can select points from different areas if you do vertical And horizontal. In photoshop you'll only get 4 points. And in photoshop, of course, unless you convert to smart object first, it's destructive editing.
Very cool, looks like Adobe took a page out of Capture 1's toolbox. Capture 1 has had this tool for quite some time now, works exactly the same way. I've found it works pretty good on cityscapes where the buildings lean a bit.
Nice, I use DXO's Viewpoint, still nice that Adobe to add this feature. Still want someone to develop a "heat haze" removal filter. As I shoot with long teles, that annoying heat haze is really bothersome on warm days or warm climates.
This really is a great little new Lightroom feature for sure. The heat haze slider sounds like a great idea but not sure if it would be possible and heat haze effects every image differently. Have you managed to achieve it it photoshop? If so you should put in a feature request to Adobe. Happy editing.
Hi Ed, my Lightroom (Lightroom 6) doesn't have this feature. I think it's only available on the full meal deal with Adobe. Oh well. Thanks for your tutorials, I use them whenever I'm editing. I find them very helpful.
Hmmmm, it should be available to you as this update is in bothe adobe Lightroom CC and adobe Lightroom 6. It is the Lightroom 6.6 update. just check and make suer you are on the most up to date version. Lightroom is also quite a bit faster too.
Another cool video... 👍🏻. ... Btw Stop slacking and post daily videos - I challenge you!!! 😉 there are so many types of photos to learn from ... I currently struggle to bring over yellow sunset photo to any form or shape of decency - can't get rid of the yellow sea water and sky, I mean tone it down ...
hahahaha slacking, I am doing my best to deliver a lot of content, it just takes a lot of time, but I am trying for sure., stay tuned though as I have A LOT more tutorials coming your way. Happy you liked this new lightroom feature 2016. Happy editing. great ideas on some editing techniques too. I will take note.
+Photos In Color I never said you are not doing your best... I just want to see one video each day... Well... ok you can have weekends off 😉 ... Ps don't hurt yourself during theme tune as you can't have any time off sick delaying content 😉... Ps2... Any plans on tutorials for After Effects or suggestions on basic video edit in Lightroom (I know it's very limited) or you are only focusing on photography? ... PS3... I've finished ... Take care!
hahaha, i love all your Ps's...... firstly, I am going to try and up my game for the number of videos I post. It will take me a few months but I will get there. 2. I am just focussing on photography although i am starting Photoshop in the next few weeks so stay tuned for that. 3. i am also done :)
Adobe sucks keeping the goodies for the subscribers! I hope there will be a good alternetive soon to adobe. I would switch in an instant to a company thats not out to suck their paying customers dry like vampires.
Actually not at all. This tool doesn't effect lens distortion at all. That is all done in the lens correction panel. This tool is more about fixing perspective and straightening out images. Very different to anti-fish eye. But I can see how you might think that.
Thank you so much for your honest comment. Shame you didn't manage to stick around for more than 7 seconds to see what else I had to offer. I thin you will have liked it. You comment does leave me wondering if it says more about you than it does my luightroom tutorials. Personally i am trying hard to add some excitement and personality to this overly technical world. Maybe you will try me again in the future. But for now, I wish you the best in you quest to find Lightroom tutorials you enjoy.
Ed, please don't let 1 negative comment effect your POV. You simply can't please everyone. Most UA-cam video tutorials are dull and boring. You have a very unique style about your presentations that makes others envious. Love the theme tune dances. I am a visual learner and your style really helps me understand not just the tools within the software but the concepts and theories behind the tools. Please don't change a thing and keep 'em coming.
Next time I want more YOU and less Lightroom your vids will be high on my list... Don't let a bunch of ass kissers make you feel that personality is more important than a cogent presentation.
Thank you so much Dan for your kind words. They really do mean a lot. Its people like you that keep me creating the best photography tutorials I can. Happy I am helping you.
Another well-explained operation, Ed.
Thanks,
Thank you so much for your kind words. Happy you are enjoying the new features inside Lightroom 6.6 and the Lightroom cc update.

Ed, I seriously love your intros. Keep it up man!

Well TC Conner, the same here. Just lets hope Ed is right and that we get an up date with it too.
TC Conner You are right. Adobe sucks. I refuse to buy a subscription. I will look at other photo editing software and see if they offer this feature.
Ed, thanks for the video! Well done as always! I appreciate your hard work!
Thanks so much. Trying to keep up to date with all the updates. Happy you are enjoying my Lightroom tutorials.
Thanks for beeing so reactive with updates, releases (Nik Coll.) etc... great tutorials

Yes, I must agree with you! However for those shots where you just need a quick line up, its great!

I have just purchased light room and your videos are SOOOO HELPFUL! What is the pad and pen you are using??
It’s a Wacom tablet. I have a video about it on my channel.
Tank you so much for this! You are my new hero!

I didn't know that as I don;t use capture 1. It is a really nice little addition to the already powerful lightroom toolbox. Happy editing.
Thanks

I think so too. Lightroom is adding some really great features.

my pleasure. i really like the new transform tool in lightroom CC and Lightroom 6.6
Is this the Lr6.5 or the 6.6?
This is the newest feature in Lightroom 6.6 or lightroom CC 2016.
Adobe sucks keeping the goodies for the subscribers! I hope there will be a good alternetive soon to adobe. I would switch in an instant to a company thats not out to suck their paying customers dry like vampires.
So it's basically an Anti-Fisheye

The title of your video implies the Guided Transform Tool is available in Lightroom 6. It is not! 👎 👎
Oh really. When it was released it was. Maybe they removed it and kept it only for Lightroom cc classic users. Sorry about that it i got it wrong.
A little less personality, a little more information...I clicked away at 0:07...Enjoyed as much as I could stand!
