Welcome back to the regular world! So happy for you, it’s the end of a long scary ordeal. We’re all wishing you the best of luck and success moving forward 😁☕️ Japan is so beautiful in autumn.
Yo it's CHC! Love your videos man! I have good memories of watching you and playing Cyberpunk 2077! You should do an episode on its launch, it was criminal!
I am almost 100 years old now and I greatly enjoy watching your videos. They keep me updated on a beautiful country I last visited in 1974. So many things have changed since then...
It's awesome that both you and Chris are dropping the videos basically at the same time. Not sure if this was coordinated but it definitely helps to extend the japanese vibe. Regards from Scotland.
I have nearly no subscriptions and follow a very select and eclectic set of channels via bookmarks, yes bookmarks. Anyway the odd synchronization of 4 channels within hours of each other, in my list of the 8 I routinely follow, was just too perfect.
@@NimrodClover They're part of thay company, so definitely a coordinated effort. I aslo think that @Sharmeleon and others have the same video editors, so they've all become efficient and all share the same high quality.

The persimmon you are holding is a fuyu. Those you can eat more like apples. The other variety you were talking about is the hachiya. Those you do find hung and dried in Japan. They look really cool actually but are a labor intensive process to do. They are astringent if not dried or allowed to fully ripen until they are super soft and pulpy. If you have harder, less ripe, ones you can slice and dry them on a drying rack and they are super delicious. If you allow them to ripen until they are totally soft they are great to use for baking things like persimmon bread (kind of like pumpkin or banana bread).
The scene with the cats playing in the park is so precious. Thank you for making this video and sharing this with us! I hope you continue to feel better 👍
That's not freedom if you have to be forced to take a PCR test and quarantine. If Japan was truly free, they wouldn't be forcing it down people's throats for a virus with a 99% survivability rate.
Planted an Asian persimmon a couple of years ago here in Maryland. Finally got *one* persimmon this year and the squirrel stole it before it got ripe. There are two types of persimmon, the kind that's sweet when it turns orange and is still firm, and the kind that has to remain on the tree until it gets soft. I have the hard kind.
Mark Rober has a whole series outlining just how intelligent and persistent squirrels are so I truly hope you'll be able to eat some before they get them all!
Wow, those leaves are stellar and love the kitties playing in them. Hope the blood work comes back with great results. On to adventure, huzzah freedom!
There are words adequate to describe how beautiful the fall leaves are in Japan. Thank you for capturing that for those of us who cannot travel there. Happy Freedom from quarantine!
😍 I love to watch this type of videos to start my day. They motivate me to start moving ♥ I'm so glad that you're ok despite the quarantine and that you're free now!
You are so loved by your followers, and I’m glad you’re back in Japan and traveling again. Take care of yourself, we’ll just follow whatever journey you take.
The scar tissue will take at least 1-2 years to lose the 'red" colouration Sharla. I know cause my mom had the same surgery about 10 years ago. It sucks, but hang in there. You got this.
Love persimmons these crunchy ones are so tasty and I’m not even a fruit person. On a side note put silicon plaster on your scar and it will heal so much better
it's different for everyone. my mom had the red a week or two tops and it has healed really neatly. i swear by 100% essential lavender oil for all wounds, i'm never w/out a bottle.
Yay so happy you are free!! You have made me fall in love with Japan more with every vlog. Can’t wait for more and can’t wait to visit one day! Thanks for the inspiration!
2:58 In Japan, Germany and France (and probably some other countries), Persimmons are also called Kaki (latin: "Diospyros kaki"). The plum-shaped kaki are sweet as well, but they have to be ripe (dark orange color and a bit mushy is usually a good indication). No trying needed.
Been following your vlog for years now. Graduated H.S. in Japan so it's very exciting for me to see the changes in Japan through you. Happy for you that you're out of quarantine and healing and selfesly grateful you're back! Patiently waiting for your next Vlog. Let the adventure continue!!! 🥳
From my own experience with surgeries (one on my hand to re-attach a torn ligament and a couple on my back to remove some moles), it can take around a year for the redness/pinkness around the scars to fade. I'm glad you're doing well and have finished quarantine without issue :)
You’re my guilty pleasure. I don’t normally watch/subscribe to channels like yours, but I’ve been a lurker for a while. I always get a sense of comfort and warmth from your videos. I’ve been yearning to visit Japan, but I have two full sleeves and know I’ll face some restrictions because of my tattoos. Perhaps I’ll make the trek next year if things open up again.
@@zoe_dawg Japanese culture still frowns upon tattoos. Yakuza related taboo in part. Most onsens won’t allow you entrance and a few restaurants won’t serve you unless you cover up.
I work in a dermatology and skin surgery clinic.. we recommend people use the silicone patches for scars all the time. Also the redness with your scar will take a few months to return to flesh tone color.
Did anyone else pause in the middle of the video to go grab a skincare box?? 😁 I’m so excited for mine! I’ve always wanted to try Korean skincare products but didn’t know where to start…thank you, Sharla, for curating one for us, so now I have no excuse to keep putting it off!
