so after watching both adaptations back to back these last few days, this one takes the cake. This one just seems like Kings work is jumping off the page, captures the whole point of the battle between good and evil, not worried about jump scares or tension just for the sake of tension, but actually captures the emotion of what an all out battle of wills between good and evil. What a show.

I've always thought the best thing Tv was that we were all sharing experience at the same time. It is exciting and it's comforting. That's the power of t v. I don't think I'm giving anything away by telling you. That there was a show called sisters many years ago and one of its characters was played by a guy named george clooney. And yes, oh my God, so cute. But i'm not giving anything away at this point that he got killed trying to help someone else. We didn't know it was gonna happen at least I don't remember there being a telegraphing. It just happened. I was sitting by the TV with a box of climax crying my eyes out and at 1059 or 11 o'clock. The phone rang and it was my mom. She was checking in to see if I was okay. He was such a great character on that show. But then he went To e r and broke a lot of more hearts.

This adaptation would have been a great ensemble to watch. We don't see such long series as often nowadays because the entertainment business thinks people have a shorter span of attention now.

Though I have a lot on that considering a theory of a cat going into said facility and a whole lot of others on how a lab leak like that happened which may look up real lab leaks another part could be mistaking a refrigerator for a lab one or misplacing said viruses in somewhere happened in IRL too anyway may want to look that up and really that building would cost a lot may have had some tax problems in there along with who was building it like Star Wars Death Star as mentioned in the first Clerks had private contractors.

There are other things missing. Like a link with It. In the book somebody saw/dreamed about a clown with fluffy red hair and silver eyes. And Susan Swan had a far bigger story, she was part of a group where the women were abducted by a gang, the mem were killed of and the women were raped, before she met the good guys. And of course there were many other details in the 1200 pages which were important but which I forgot about.

I was only 12 or 13 years old, but I convinced my parents to sign me up for them and the first book that arrived was The Stand. I had no idea what to expect when I began reading it, but over the course of about a month I felt like I had been on a rollercoaster. Although this movie was a fairly good adaption, I don't think it's possible to make a perfect adaption because the narrator in the book was such a vital "character" that was able to explain the other character's emotions so much better than any actor could portray.

It was my number one favorite for many many years and I loved the first edition. I would tell my uncle to wait and he could read my books as soon as I finished it and he would tell me the same thing. Neither of us would ever wait. We both bought first editions when they first came out. Our love for reading Stephen King books exceeded our many other common interests. I can’t imagine reading without thinking about my Uncle. We both agreed it was best to just give the books away when we finished because who knows how many other people would learn to love reading as much as we did. There are so many great books and great writers don’t hold onto a book because you never know who will read it and keep the cycle going and going.

A lot of things in the series seem so relevant to the times we live in now, And is a classic Good vs Evil tale that I think would not be a bad Idea to play in some churches that would be willing to open their minds to it and attract a lot of younger people with it's modern tale of God and good winning out over evil and how this story makes a big point of needing faith and sacrifices made for the greater good... Funny how this I feel is a truly good TV series to show to others as a tool to help lead some to GOD while also very entertaining with it's all star stellar cast of actors and it's a great story ...

Yes. I remember watching it as a teenager in the 90’s too and feeling this overwhelming sense of sadness, doom and anxiety. Great movie/show! 😉

@Jimmy94411 I agree whole heartedly. I used to want to meet him more than any celebrity but not now that he is supporting the devil and his minions.

He has done this in more than one of his films. He'll even occasionally make references to himself in his novels

I watched this series back in the days late at night. It was predictive if you take into account the covid pandemic. From South Africa 🇿🇦

Absolutely chilling. The similarities between Covid and the way people die in this film from thirty years ago are frightening!

Please. only about 1 percent of the total number of people who caught "Covid" died from it. And thats world wide. At least those countries that reported to the World Health Organization . Where as the "Super Flu" from the stand, killed a heck of a lot more. I had Covid, but because I had no other underlying health problems, and was not a smoker, I got over it. Took me three weeks, and some meds.
