- Filmed & Edited by Chris Witzke. www.meetingstreetstudio.com Annie Clark sits down with Kyle Meredith for an in depth discussion on being St. Vincent, the Grammys, being "weird," mythology, and the politics of our day.
yep, she's legit. Her interviews are always compelling and thought provoking. Thanks for posting.
"Ants arent very likeable on their own" - St.Vincent, 2015
Purposeful Porpoise "Ants on their own are kinda unlikeable"
I love how thoughtful and careful she is with her answers. She is very, very intelligent and handles her gifts very gracefully, if a bit conservatively.
T.K. I'll be a bit more blunt. She comes off as about 8 times smarter than the interviewer :)
kumoyuki I've seen his interviews, he seems like a sweet guy who nerds out and occasionally gets a bit awkward :) Maybe that's his thing! Regardless, hopefully as more and more non-white-dude-bro types gain global prominence and respect, some of the less interesting questions lobbed their way will give way to meatier and more insightful questions about the art and stuff.
+T.K. Maybe interviewers have their own style but in this interview, to me, he mind of comes off as being too focused on his preconceptions rather than letting her talk.
+T.K. *kind of
+jrcenina85 Haha, he's probably totally nervous. I'd be a blubbering fool around any of the musicians of whom I'm enamored ;)
"I've been looking at ant populations" - Annie Clark, 2015
lmfao, i love her
This is the kind of role model girls need (aspiring women, and anybody really) !! She's smart, talented, ARTICULATE, unpretentious, and 100% committed to what she is doing. If young people would do more hard work & learning, and less staring at their thumbs tweeting, the world would be a better place.
Blaming young folks for the shitty world that they grew up in because the people before them did an awful job at giving a damn about the world. Good comment 👍🏽
lol at them thinking the politics of 2015 were depressing
And you wrote that in 2018........
Hi, I'm from 2020. Civil war is coming....literally. Also, the pandemic. And climate change is fucking shit UP.
And the Pentagon admitted UFOs are real. Also there's probably life on Venus. Anyway....
So....yeah.
This didnt aged well.....
Great interview wow
Who was the audio engineer on this and why are the speakers on the wrong sides?
She's so awesome.
One of my friends LOVES Bossanova... You and him are insane Kyle!! :P
"You listen to it with your hips." ~*Raj*
Damn, I love her.
1:30 nope
almost a year later and I'd say things are worse than they were then...
(in reference to their talk about politics and black lives in the US)
11:01 lol who is playing rattlesnake in the background?
That interviewer is really full of himself. Annie Clark is a charming daring music performer.
love the ant conversation
she is doing the thing with her personality
pyrobison2002 Could you give me a hint here?
Shes really bright. I didnt discover St Vincent until the 2014 SNL performance. I was instantly mesmerized. Really good music performed in an exciting, different way. Shes good stuff!
Definitely my kind of girl...
Rad interview, Annie is quite a babe.
I read a book called Sarah's Nest when I was a kid that made me like ants.
This guy better watch some more ants... they are TOTALLY creative. Look at the colonies they create!
Paul McCartney's Twin Flame ❤✨✨❤
Poor Annie.......
oh god haha she always says "you gonna edit this, right?" such a dork
Matt's Johnson?!
3 years later, amazing how worse politics could get. Sad.
Who thiumbed this down? What is wrong with you?
Am I the only one that saw her here and came away thinking that she may have a substance problem based on her appearance? I love St. Vincent's music and I hope she's okay.
+terrence0258 Possible, but it really might be the touring. You see it on her face.
+terrence0258 she was touring like crazy all over the world. it takes a toll. plus she is like 33 now lol.
It's in the eyes. But she's still great.
well you're right, i mean, like, she's got a song named Pills
True, but that's more based on prescribed medication (as she tells it) and the absurdity she felt when she had to take pills to sleep and night and regulate her mood during the day
So The Eurythmics had a kid.
A very attractive woman
I don't know why but I don't like this interviewer
🤮 puke
