That's nowhere true , the USA and most of Europe have also risen to much higher levels than China without abolishing religion . Religion can be power and deterrence as well

There are 56 ethnic groups with different religions n beliefs Some of the ethnic groups such as uyghurs n hui minorities are muslims. , others like tibetans are buddhists. . For the han chinese which is the majority ethnic group, they are buddhists/taoists whilst some are christians/catholics and the rest are non believers of any religion..
There thousands of temples, churches , mosques in China . They are the proofs religions not only flourish but co exist with one another.
However , the foundation of chinese civilisation n culture is not religion but the philosophy of Confuscianism .This philosophy emphasize on the values of family, harmony, education, discipline, hardwork , collective responsibilities rather than individualism. n so on.

@@nanyanguo1 we all know about how millions of people were killed in mao zedong's era in the name of cultural revolution and how millions of artefacts , statues , monasteries , monks were burned to clean up the country of their existence . China nowhere shows harmony in faiths with an overwhelming majority being atheists . I get your patriotism for your nation but it is not how you believe it is . China rose up due to foreign aids and US' policies towards it cuz China's development is not internal but due to various MNCs opening up their warehouses and production units due to the availability of cheap labour and friendly government policies . It's not as if china invented stuff which it sold outside of its borders to get rich instead all it did was to create copies of all the original technology available in the market
