  • Jaeyun is a third-year educational psychology doctoral (PhD) student who entered her PhD program having already completed a prior Master's degree at another institution. She talks about her experiences as an international graduate student, and touches on the growing field of educational psychology.
This interview addressed questions such as:
    • When did you decide you wanted to go to graduate school? How did you come to that decision?
    • Did you take a gap year? Did you complete a master's degree first? If either, what influenced that decision for you?
    • What did you expect graduate school to be like? And how has your experience aligned with your expectations thus far? (This can include expectations about coursework, research training, clinical/applied training, extracurriculars, workload and work-life balance, relationship to professor, relationship to graduate students, etc.)
    • What has been your favorite part of the graduate school experience so far? Your least favorite?
    • What is something you wish you knew before you started your graduate school journey? Any other advice for those considering a program like yours?
    Interview conducted by Charis.
