I was getting really annoyed at people calling her “fatphobic” for saying she was disfigured by the procedure. I was practically yelling for people to look up what this reaction ACTUALLY looks like. It is not just weight gain, it looks like hard BRICKS of fat cells protruding out of your body. She was never saying that being fat is “disfiguring”!!! This reaction is not normal fat gain. It is hard, sometimes painful, disfiguring masses. If you wanna call her fatphobic for getting a weight loss procedure in the first place, that’s your opinion, but she did not call fat people disfigured.
@@HadenBlake I completely agree tbh. But some see it as fatphobic, which is their opinion. I think it’s an immature opinion lacking all nuance, but they are entitled to think whatever they want. I just wanted to clarify for anyone that may think her statement about disfigurement had anything to do with normal fat gain, that it did not.
@@HadenBlake Same. Totally agree. People are allowed to do what they want with their bodies. It's not a blanket statement about entire groups of people or the entire world. Others need to stop taking that personally.
Even if she just gained permanent “normally textured fat”, her job is her likeness. She’s disfigured in the sense that she no longer looks like herself and this happened very suddenly. Because her face and body are her “products” in her business as a model, any big permanent changes are disfiguring. Like if she went in for Botox and came out with a nose job, even if it looks great she’s still disfigured you know
I’m so glad she won that lawsuit. It was so very clear that it ruined her life for years. They need to make sure they tell people the side affects clearly.
Omg yes. I'm an esthetician & it's SO IMPORTANT to do all the research into the manufacturers of all the different machines & lasers. There is an entire underground world of off-label or "used" machines & lasers - along with just corrupt manufacturers in general. I've heard & seen horror stories of people being burned and scarred. You REALLY have to learn about the machines & the different technologies & then learn about the clinic and see if they have a relationship with the manufacturers - big ones like Candela or Aerolase often have social media presences - try to find clinic training photos with the lasers. I mean anything down to the new hydrodermabrasion/hydrafacial world. These machines are expensive and produce revenue and wherever there is money, there is often shady practices. Idc if it's fat removal, tattoo removal, hair removal, or even a lash tint - make sure your beauty professionals are using quality products from manufacturers that you know have reputable machines. It may be a bit more costly, as a consumer and practitioner. But many practitioners will see duplicate options on Amazon that claim to do these big treatments Cavatation Machines, Microneedling devices, hydro or microdermabrasion - some of them actually look like the professional versions for thousands less than quality ones. Minus all the legalities, testing and training 🙄. It's a wild world. It's too lucrative - stay safe everyone and invest in your skin! The largest organ in your body!
For sure! Anyone who has had Rosacea will tell you - that it’s preferable to accept the side-effects of skin antibiotics versus the whole face of red-inflamed Rosacea. It’s absolutely awful.
Ok but I got a bunch of cool sculpting done and it worked wonders. Before you get the procedure done they tell you that the area you get cool sculpted may have an adverse effect where it actually causes you to gain weight in the area but that’s in like a very small number of patients. At least for me they didn’t hide it, they made it very clear it’s a possibility. I did a lot of research into cool sculpting before I got it and I thought it was worth the risk for me personally because the risk of having the dangerous side effects was very small. It’s super unfortunate that happened to Linda but there are thousands of people that it didn’t happen to and they had a positive experience. There’s two sides to everything, only focusing on the negative doesn’t give you the entire picture. (Plus it’s A LOT safer and has WAYYY less potential complications than fat loss surgery. So that should be taken into account as well.)
@@tektako Linda Evangelista wasn't told. She's more than likely not the only person. You aren't in on every person's appointment, so you can't say for sure what's said and what's not.
Cool sculpting is the biggest waste of money. I worked for a Dr for years who pushed this procedure because it’s ridiculously expensive and patients ended up needing so many cycles of it that they could’ve just paid for lipo by the end of it. No one was every happy with their results and they would end up with nerve pain, divots in their skin and tons of scar tissue 😞
I regret doing it too! I was 18 (25 now) and I spent like $4k and honestly it for sure made my double chin bigger!!! Finally two years ago I did Lipo but I feel like Coolsculpting did a lot of damage cause I still have fat there from the lipo. (Which the surgeon warned me about prior)
@@palomacuevas6490 I’m so sorry you experienced this. One of the surgeons I worked for actually refused to do some lipo cases for this very reason, CS can cause so much scar tissue that lipo can become dangerous and very painful 😞
I sooo thank you for the advice and sharing your work experience. I considered it at one time was still on the fence but after hearing about divots on the skin and nerve damage I will not be trying it😊
😭 JAMES. I’ve had cool sculpting on my to do post forever and I’ve literally never heard of these health risks. Thanks for covering this, I’m definitely reconsidering now.
Hey! I actually had coolsculpting done last year on my lower stomach to help with my “pooch” or fupa area. I had no weird side effects, not even bruising, just regular tenderness and numbness for about two weeks. All that being said, i did 3 sessions (2 applicators each session, one on each side) and my cost was about $4000 since I did it during a summer deal. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth it for the cost alone. The difference wasn’t noticeable enough IMO to justify the cost
I was a nurse in a cosmetic surgeon's office and I have to tell you: if you're dead set on a fat loss procedure, please just go with liposuction. cool sculpting is a waste of money. you need so many sessions, and they are so expensive and the results are minimal. many people also end up with dips in their skin where they got it that don't heal properly. by the time you pay for 6 sessions that are barely doing anything except making weird dips here and there, you could have gotten liposuction and had money left over. moreover, liposuction is safer in general as long as you go to a board certified plastic surgeon with a good reputation (not an 80 year old dr who refuses to retire).
I Hope the very ❤ Best for you! I'm from Medicine 4 Decades of Work in Surgery and also in Obstetrics and Gynäcology. I had have a "Feeling", that these Procedure may can have a "Problem" behind. Something I could not explain scientifically - but my Doc's trust me and doesn't buy this extraordinary expensive Shit-Machine! I think: they become very happy that they Trust my "Feeling", my Intuition ! ✌️🫣💓👏🤗 It's very important to listen to the "inner Feels" , and I've learned a lot to listen to my Biology and to understand, how this works.

A clinic tried to push cool sculpting on me, and I asked about these side effects. She said "that literally never happens to anyone, its not something you need to worry about" I hung up.
I agree. I think anything that changes your appearance in a non-consensual way could be considered disfiguring. I imagine it can be very dysphoric to have your body change like that.
Numbness, pain, hyperpigmentation, frostbite, PHA, lower lip deviation, dry mouth, tongue deviation as well as the good old nausea, vomiting and dizziness are all possible complications from this. I feel bad for Linda. She still is such an incredible woman who is worth so much to so many. Love her and hope she’s doing better. ❤
I’ve actually gotten cool sculpting done quite a few times and I was made VERY aware of all the potential side effects. Just as a side note, if the procedure is done properly by a trained medical professional most of those side effects are almost guaranteed not to happen. The frostbite one especially, they have a lot of medical research studies done on the procedure and frostbite shouldn’t be a complication if done properly. The reason I went through with it is because statistically the risk of getting the side effects was extremely low. I ended up not having any issues. I totally agree that people should be aware of the side effects but they should also know that they’re not guaranteed to get any of them. Another reason it was worth it to me is because surgery fat loss complications are much higher.
I can’t help but wonder just how many desperate people were silenced and paid off in the hopes of a corrective surgery solving the issue. Once you sign over your right to speak, that’s it. How horrifying.
The way they called last minute and tried to blackmail her into signing an NDA is disgusting!! looked into getting this done on my bingo wings but that kind of underhand behaviour has put me right off. If she didnt have the money to pay for that surgery she would have been screwed and we would have known nothing about it, how many people in a less fortunate position have they bullied like this? I'll take my flabby arms over disfigurement any day, so glad to see her back on the cover where she belongs❤
It really must be so hard for her, being such a major public figure- whose entire career is based on how she looks. I can’t even imagine.. I hope she’s in a better place mentally now that she’s outed them. It just sounds way too risky, and I believe it when you say that the figures are totally low balled. Scary stuff! Great video, as usual:) Thanks James!💕✨
Cool sculpting was all over our local commercials for years. I asked what it was and decided that for what they were saying, it was a waste of money for the cost. The results aren’t like liposuction, but it was advertised as as such and seemed false. I have had conventional plastic surgery and it’s expensive and so I try to avoid fads like this that claim the same with non invasive results. Fillers can get freaky over time. Buyer beware.
I think we also need to look at the wider social context in which stuff like this happens, because people are pro ageing in theory until someone like Paulina Porizkova posts a photo of their 58 year old body in lingerie, and then suddenly the pro ageing crowd start screaming, "No, not like that!"
I was briefly considering this for a stubborn fat deposit on my hips. Very glad I actually did my research and found out its not super successful with more risk of adverse reactions!
Same... Mine was done by the a nurse, which I was comfortable with at the time simply because she said she did it on herself several times. It just didn't cross my mind to question it. I'd initially wanted lipo or kybella but was talked into cool sculpting as a better treatment for me. There was only a slight noticable difference. Such a huge waste of money. It's been about 4 1/2 years since then but now I'm a bit worried if there are any potential side effects that'll show up some time in the future that we weren't warned about.
As serious a topic as this is, I absolutely lost it when you said "bingo wings". I have had injuries to both of my shoulders, and have to very carefully do targeted exercise to work my shoulders, biceps, and triceps because I have inherited my dad's side of the family getting them. What infuriated me about the bullying she got was, it wasn't just ordinary adipose tissue, it literally was growing out of control, hardening, causing physical pain(I have heard the pain is the equivalent of the pregnant overnight stretch mark pain, of which I'm extremely familiar with, plus it causes stretch marks from the skin being pulled taut, and scarring from stretch marks have their own fun issues), and if not treated properly, can be a recurring issue.
What is interesting about adipose tissue is that with diet and exercise the existing fat cells do not go away. They just go through a process of expansion with weight gain or shrinkage with weight loss. So I can see the appeal behind this ability to make the cells undergo lysis. Btw I also have an under chin bag and wanted to try Kybella but as a hygienist I had to learn about head and neck anatomy and the truth is that bag is not just caused by fat. It's a combination of tissues that make up the functional structures of the lower part of the oral cavity and the neck. So unfortunately for people like us who are in our proper weight range Kybella is not an optimal solution. Also, remember people that as consumers we are responsible for what we purchase whether it be services or goods. We are responsible for doing the proper research. Which is unfortunate as well because we all have our weaknesses and disadvantages so not everyone is always capable of making responsible decisions. I do think the med spa services are usually exploitative of this and of the emotional influence that goes behind people making decisions to alter their bodies. It's a bit manipulative to minimize the possible side effects knowing that when someone has an insecurity and is coming to a consult they pretty much have already made up their mind and will not likely be dissuaded to move forward with the procedure. It's psycholgical persuasion exploiting insecurities. And insecurities is a need that people will usually focus on resolving physically over psychologically no matter the cost and sometimes even over more realistic needs such as food, shelter, and transportation.
Ahhh that would make sense for my chin!! Yeah exactly that. I always tell people this a bout getting Botox and filler. There’s possible negative side effects with all procedures so doing our research on the procedure and the injectors themselves is so important!
So you're saying that my double chin pocket flab might not go away with kybella? I have it, my gran, my mum, aunts and cousins do too and some of them are very skinny, I'm maybe 1kg overweight? - it doesn't go away, it just gets more saggy with age. It's genetic in my case and I really hate it. Always have. I hate it a bit less the older I get though. I was really thinking about getting Kybella (probably for the past 5 years), but you might have saved me money and disappointment. I don't want actual surgery for it. I looked into that in my early 20s, but it's not for me. Time to try to learn to accept it, I suppose.
I absolutely agree with you, I think the best way to stay in shape is diet, exercise and lifestyle, and we're all different, so we all need to figure out what that optimal lifestyle is for ourselves. There is always a risk with any procedure, and there have been so many blunders and scandals within the medical/pharmaceutical industry, I'm not surprised by this story.
In my experience, pilling occurs when two products don't sit together well. Could be that you enjoyed that one with a different routine that actually worked. Always good to try it again and figure out what might interfere!
Abby Sharp recently uploaded a video talking about her experience with cool sculpting - the same thing happened to her too... I wonder how common this REALLY is 🤔
The nutritionist from TikTok?! I love her! Gonna check out her channel now. I feel like it’s waaaaaay more common than they say. I’m guessing most people have a gag order!
Hi James, I watched and re-watched this video deciding whether to comment or not .. so here goes! I have had several coolsculpting procedures .. all amazingly successful .. I lost 4 stone over 3years (slowly and steady). I was working out 5 times a week, 2hrs a day - back-to-back classes, swimming, abs classes .. you name it, I did it ... and did it intensely (enjoyed every minute and still do!!) .. but there were pockets of fat that I could not shift no matter what, so I had coolsculpting done on the small pockets of fat on my inner thighs 1st, followed (a year later) by my underarms and then another yr later on my stomach (where I had surgery) and 'bra' straps .... all of this took place over 3yrs (it is very expensive) and I have NEVER looked back. I could never ever have achieved this with diet and excercise. I still have a flat stomach and no pouches despite putting on 8lbs. I have been on the positive end of the procedure and I feel so so much more confident (BTW I am the same age as Linda Evangleista) .. I suppose all I would say is do get this procedure done on your chin/face until you have had it done somewhere else and it has worked out ok .. my therapists were excellent, extremely educated and I took their advise completely. I started with my inner thighs and I took a yr to see how it worked before deciding the next area to target. If people are interested in this procedure, get it done first on an area where you wouldn't be devastated if it didn't work. Honestly it will take at least 3-4 months before you will see a difference, despite what anyone will tell you. I am so so happy with my results. I just thought I would post this as you asked for people who have had this done to comment. Everyone has their own reasons for doing this .. hopefully without being judged. I am nervous about the reaction I will get here, but I am happy and have no regrets.
17:25 it is so difficult looking on the mirror and not recognizing yourself. I just finished chemotherapy and I’m going through it now. I have developed social anxiety and everything too
I'm so sorry to hear that my dear. Just don't let the social anxiety go too far, if you haven't already, seek help from a psychologist. It's maybe hard at first, but usually feels easier once you start. And remember "almost everyone is concerned about what people will think of one's appearance in various situations in life. But most other people usually don't think at all about what you worry about, about yourself, they are unfortunately busy worrying about themselves." I wish you all the best and hope you recover as soon as possible.. Sending hugs & much love to you. ❤
Even if she did look like an average woman, the point is that she didn't look like herself to herself. That's super traumatic. I'm not a person who is interested in beauty treatments at all, but I can still empathise with the trauma of having a treatment that's marketed as safe, and it totally changing your face so you don't recognise yourself. Yes, she took the risk, but without informed consent. This company is a disgrace.
Lab Muffin has videos about how different foundations react with skincare to cause pilling. Water based products go together, silicone products pair well, and oil based products work well together. Michelle is a cosmetic chemist and has great information. I swear that she explains it better than I did.
This is quite shocking because I was considering the cool sculpting. I have a lower tummy that I didn't want to go for surgery for but figured the cool sculpt may help reduce it since dieting has just made it looser looking. Honestly, I said to my partner I would rather have a slightly chubby tubby than loose skin. Exercise doesn't seem to have gotten the lower tummy to go away but only firmer underneath... then again I am 41 years old now. Many women struggle with this area on our tummies , especially after giving birth. I didn't know cool sculpting could cause such side effects. It is frightening.
I got cool sculpting when I was 15.. so sad how the media made me feel like I wasn’t beautiful enough at such a young age, I’m 21 now and I almost forgot I got it done, I didn’t notice any particular bulges however because I was so young and I continued to struggle with an eating disorder I have since continued my cycle of gaining and losing weight with no particularly noticeable difference. Just try to be healthy y’all there’s no point to this. ‘Problem areas’ are just curvatures on a body, I don’t regret getting it done even though because I have gained weight I am not sure whether I do have bulges or not (def nothing extreme) it was part of my journey into accepting myself.
So much this! I've been doing a deep dive into the Wellness industry for over 2 years and the conclusion I've come to is that people are seriously harming themselves to chase "skinniness at any cost." What's truly important is self acceptance, self compassion, self love. That's where true happiness comes from. The whole industry is harm and manipulation to get us to spend money. They want us to hate ourselves so we'll chase their validation without noticing they're always moving the goal posts. Removing yourself from the main narrative by not caring anymore is truly liberating!
I've been considering cryosculpting for about 6 years after having had 2 kids and I get bombarded with so many ads for it, however given I have autoimmune issues, I fear I may get that same backfiring issue or probably trigger something worse 😢 I guess at the end of the day I'm not a supermodel who has to rely on staying 120lbs forever so there's that 😂
The thing that put me off Coolsculpting was they told me for my pot belly pouch I would need 4 paddles, x 3/4 sessions and the total was $4500 😱😬 It was at that point I thought I’d have to just diet hard and watch what I eat forever.
I think the lasting impact on her career is the most troubling. I can’t imagine how devastating losing my ability to do my job would be. Not to mention the fact that she can’t recognise herself in the mirror.
On a side note, SHOUT OUT TO BONDI SANDS! Awesome vegan Australian brand! ❤❤❤ Thanks for showing them! Edit: Maybe it pulled because of your moisturisers? I’ve never had it pill on me 😊
I went from 260 roughly to 128 pounds in 2019. I had undiagnosed celiac and when I went off gluten, my gut healed and my body could absorb nutrients properly and I didn’t have this intense hunger anymore. Be a if the damage to my gut, I had multiple attacks of severe pain and nausea and had to stay on a liquid diet and sometimes even no food, just bone broth for two weeks at a time. I have no loose skin, aside from my c section area and a bit on my hands wich used to be very swollen. If you struggle with intense hunger, check if you absorb nutrients properly. I am now back to 150, since I had a baby recently but I had maintained my weight up until pregnancy for over two years and I will get there again, as it seems it’s my bodies preference, as I didn’t lose more weight after 128 pounds, no matter what, wich I was happy with. My journey was to health and that made all the difference in my opinion. I am happy that I were able to do it this way as my liver lost all the excessive fat, wich was bad for my liver enzymes, values etc. and no procedure like cool sculpting can get rid of organ fat, wich is the health problem.
THEY NEED TO DEVELOP A SAFE TEST PROCEDURE BEFORE CONTINUING WITH THE FULL PROCEDURE. THEY SHOULD ALSO RESEARCH WHAT THE 1% OF THOSE AFFECTED BY ADVERSE EFFECTS FROM THE PROCEDURE, WHAT THEY HAVE IN COMMON, & UTILISE THIS INFO TO PRODUCE THE PRE OP TEST. 🤷🏽♀️🇬🇧
I really want to get CoolSculpting done to the inside of my thighs. There are two blobs of fat, one on each side that just rub together and make life painful... But my mom got CoolSculpting on her arms and chin and it got fudged up! She's a bit numb and there is permanent wrinkling and lumps on her arms and chin now. It's been over 10 years and it's gone away a bit, but the fat just came back in all the wrong ways
Paradoxical Lipedema. It happens. After cool sculpt, the body starts to collect fat in the treated area in combo with INFLAMMATION and connective tissue damage. Fat lumps and swelling can be difficult to treat. They would need to be CUT OUT, remove the connectivr tissue latice with hard fat deposits that have become calcified.
Yeh, my friend's roommate tried that lemon water thing and all she did was $h!t her pants on a daily basis.... guess what WOULD make you drop pounds 🤔 literally! 😂
D'Addario, Evangelista... So, does this happen to anyone with an Italian last name? I'm never gonna do this procedure for sure!!! Seriously speaking: I didn't exclude to have such procedures in the future, but now I completely changed my mind!
I have to say that this is tempting because no matter how much exercise and diet I do I have a big fat stomach that I’ve had since I was around ten years old. Even when I’ve lost around 30 pounds my stomach has stayed fat. I literally look pregnant. It’s not a “little pooch” I’ve done every diet, eliminates certain foods, calorie restricted, exercised every single day, done stomach-centered exercises (even though they say you can’t spot-burn fat) NOTHING WORKS. So, I want to try liposuction or coolscultping
I had cool sculpting done on my inner thighs. It didn’t reduce the size of my thighs, it just gave me a cottage cheese appearance that I didn’t have before. It is a scam.
My friend had this done to her back “rolls” and she said it was a total expensive waste of money and saw hardly any difference. Years later she started lifting light weights in The gym And the rolls are gone.
Huhm! Like with paradoxical hypertrichosis after laser, that would be so upsetting. I understand the helplessness and ongoing pain that comes with some flippant professional going ahead with whatever work... from a bad dentist....
They say 1% has PAH... I met 3 people who used cool sculpting, all three of them had PAH. Being honest, all of them were tell about the risk and all of them had successful correction procedures, but I just find odd how many cases of PAH that are out there.
I've actually thought about this many times, I struggle massively losing weight (im not a heavy girl at all tbh, but i do have a little pouch on the front). Glad I saw this:)
Noooo Linda Evangelista was one of the most stunning women around!! The movie/ documentary made in Nome- Alaska … “encounters of the fourth kind” is worth watching
Imagine if Linda aged with grace and carried on modelling appropriately to her age and relevant audience. She could have saved herself this catastrophe. And knowing some physiology and biology, there is nothing such as permanent removal of fat cells. Fat cells can multiply again when there is a demand for extra storage for calories from the diet. What you need to follow after this procedure is as well doable without this procedure: diet and exercise. If you cannot get rid of certain areas, it is probably because you have genes for storing fat there. Every surgery comes with a risk. What do you think happens with the lose fat after the fat cell dies? And if the fat cell destruction was permanent and you kept eating junk that made you fat previously, where would that extra fat be stored? In your liver? Happy with cirrhosis instead?
I had injdction lipolisis, but with something different (not Kybella) and i worked perfectly for me, but yes, you still have to have a healthy life. But it had collagen and more thibgs to get your skin more elastic. And this is what I was really looking forward to, and it worked. I am of course gettinf more (preferebly 3 or more, once a month) to nake it good enough for me, but I higly recomend, because there is almost no risk with this procedure.
Thank you for this video! I just shared it with friends because I have genuinely been considering getting cool sculpting done, and now I know not to go near it!
While it's 100% not her fault that they messed up, it's still really sad to me that she felt the need to get the surgeries at all when she looked absolutely lovely already. Idk, I do still feel a little weird about how "deformed" to her just means looking like an average 50-60 year old...
Any single time i hear stories like this i think of my relfection and im like nahh im good bro. Im beautiful I don't need any of this shit happening to me. 🤣😩😩 just love yourself. Its the most liberating feeling.
People really be putting pictures up with a good 30+ year difference and gets surprised that they’ve changed. The sad part is people will then eat it up with no second thought.
I could see her, making the claim that it made her unable to work or unmarketable as a supermodel, but to claim that she is disfigured…. She’s definitely not disfigured that’s goofy
I’m torn on this lawsuit. You sign a waiver when you get this procedure- it’s EXTREMELY rare, but there is a potential risk of an adipose pocket hardening, or the fat not dissolving evenly (which would be the most common side effect). People need to realize that there are risks to every single procedure and medication or supplement that you will ever take. Even if the procedure is carried out correctly, with all proper protocols and precautions met, and even in the most experienced hands- you may experience a negative side effect or unexpected result. Everyone’s body is so different, it’s awful that this happened to her. And my heart goes out to her. But there is so much research that goes into these modalities, and it is a known, yet extremely rare side effect of cryogenic laser in general. You need to do your research. And it really is unlikely you would experience this. What’s not okay, was them recommending she get more procedures when she wasn’t having proper results. That was 100% immoral on the practice’s part. I had a client experience a serious allergic reaction once, and i thought i was going to lose my license- even though everything was carried out correctly. It was terrifying, and i was so grateful i had that waiver- but i ended up adding ALOT to it after that, because of my concern of something similar like this happening. In this case, it’s more of a bodily reaction that was not ideal, not the machine itself. If she had been burned, it would be another story. I do feel so awful for her, but there are always risks to cosmetic procedures.
From what I gather the risk was very heavily understated or just straight up skimmed over by that waiver, and the risks were never adequately explained to her by anyone involved in her procedure. Yes, any procedure has risks, but the company performing it has a duty of care to clearly and properly explain what the risks are. She didn't have any way to know that what she experienced was a potential side effect
Had severe burns from the cool sculpt. Also the science behind is bullshit. I was my mother in law's guinea pig. Me and my sister in law had 2nd degree burns. I was swollen for weeks, it was horrible
21:04 Miss means you're unmarried (and/or young) and Mrs means you are married. Ms. is like Mr. It doesn't change based on your status. I have been Ms. since the early 90s because I believe a woman's identity does not need to be tied to their relationship status.
There is Sculptsure: a similar procedure that uses warmth. It has zero chance of this horrible side effect. Eventually it will put cool sculpting out of business just for that reason alone. (It also works better and is more comfortable.
I was just listening while cleaning & I swear I heard him say, "it smells like whore heaven" lmao. I always watch/listen at 1.5x speed so that plus that adorable accent did it 😂. For a hot second there I was thinking, I wonder if that smells good or bad... it could go either way LMAO Edit: @1:32
So glad this video popped up in my feed! I’ve recently gone through a massive weight loss but still have the double chin. I was gonna get this procedure done BUT NOT NOW! Thanks for the warning!
I think people don't realize that hard bricks of fat from the procedure can be painful. Abby Sharp also recently spoke out about her disfigurement from cool sculpting and didn't realize it was specifically from cool sculpting until Linda's lawsuit.
10:24 call me crazy but 1% of patients affected is a larger amount than what should be allowed for such a potentially disfiguring condition That’s 1 in 100 patients, that’s an absolutely absurd occurrence rate in my opinion Especially since this commons side effect isn’t being disclosed prior to treatment
Right ? I’m a military veteran and they tell us “one percent of Americans join the military “ . I know HELLA other military folks. 1 % of people is still a large percentage

One silver lining is that since this happened to her, she had the money and status to bring it to light! There has to be so many more people that this had happened to who agreed to the non-disclosure because they couldn't afford corrective surgery themselves!
Wow. I can’t imagine. I recently cried and was depressed for two days after I got a haircut that made me feel that I didn’t look like myself. Thank you for sharing this!
@@DJPoundPuppy lots of people are really attached to their hair. Some haircuts can really change the way your face looks, so I can imagine that haircuts are disorienting for some at first.
I wonder if Zeltek knows that the surgery is typically unsuccessful so they make a habit of forcing last minute confidentiality with the threat of revoking the financial support This would scare the average patient into agreeing because they likely can’t cover it themselves For a surgery that seems like it won’t work Yikes
i just wanted to thank you for always having accurate and well timed subtitles on your videos! i sometimes struggle with listening to people talk and like to use subtitles to help me catch things so i don't have to constantly rewind the video, but autogenerated subtitles just make things harder for me. it means a lot having creators actually put in the effort to accomodate to the needs of their audience :)
@kateaye3506 I think because of her history of ED and her expertise she just recognizes that a lot of them are problematic and fear monger certain foods
Yeah it’s far from being fat phobic. It wasn’t fat evenly distributed throughout the body. It’s literally blocks of fat!
Like if she went in for Botox and came out with a nose job, even if it looks great she’s still disfigured you know
@@leftalone9881 yeah that’s also a good point tbh. Some people just like to make everything about themselves.
I’m so glad she won that lawsuit. It was so very clear that it ruined her life for years. They need to make sure they tell people the side affects clearly.
Yeah agreed. And whilst we should all do our own research, the company also needs to be 100% clear about the dangers and side effects! So glad she won
Thank you for being honest about that product/process.
I sooo thank you for the advice and sharing your work experience. I considered it at one time was still on the fence but after hearing about divots on the skin and nerve damage I will not be trying it😊
@@dayeti6794 Glad I can help. Saw way too many patients suffer both financially and medically over this 💔
Get Lipo. Much better.
A clinic tried to push cool sculpting on me, and I asked about these side effects. She said "that literally never happens to anyone, its not something you need to worry about"
I hung up.
That’s so sketchy, why won’t they just tell you the side effects???
Name and shame 💞
Well, clearly it happened to SUMbody becaaauuuse. . . . Linda Evangelista 🤷🏽♀️
As far as I'm concerned, anything that changes what you look like in a personally damaging way can be called disfigurement.
Yes.
I agree. I think anything that changes your appearance in a non-consensual way could be considered disfiguring. I imagine it can be very dysphoric to have your body change like that.
Oh for sure she's "disfigured" comparably to her before
Numbness, pain, hyperpigmentation, frostbite, PHA, lower lip deviation, dry mouth, tongue deviation as well as the good old nausea, vomiting and dizziness are all possible complications from this.
Martha Stewart is on the cover of the sports illustrated swimsuit edition this month. She’s 81 but doesn’t look a day over 50. Isn’t money grand?
Forreal
Name one single person in the "pro aging community" as you put it who had a problem with her photo. Just one please.
@@CeliaTyree true! It was the other people who were complaining.
It’s also called photoshop
I was briefly considering this for a stubborn fat deposit on my hips. Very glad I actually did my research and found out its not super successful with more risk of adverse reactions!
I’ve met her several times and she’s one of the sweetest celebrities I’ve ever met. I feel so awful for what she went through.
I had the same procedure as Linda to my chin and no one told me it could go horribly wrong. I was so shocked when her story came out.
I’ve just resigned to the fact that no matter how much weight i lose my thick neck and legs are here to stay 😂😂
Also super interesting perspective here :)
Does lipo help with a under chin bag?
I absolutely agree with you, I think the best way to stay in shape is diet, exercise and lifestyle, and we're all different, so we all need to figure out what that optimal lifestyle is for ourselves.
There is always a risk with any procedure, and there have been so many blunders and scandals within the medical/pharmaceutical industry, I'm not surprised by this story.
In my experience, pilling occurs when two products don't sit together well. Could be that you enjoyed that one with a different routine that actually worked. Always good to try it again and figure out what might interfere!
James, this format is amazing. I love when you do videos like this!!!! Keep them coming
How does anyone trust the “fda certified” label anymore? I don’t, which is terrifying
Thank you for bringing awareness to this ! That company was so wrong for this !
Your parents signed for you to get such a procedure at 15? I'm sorry but that's not okay.
You typically have to be 18 or older to get in-office treatments so I’m shocked a guardian signed a waiver for you to get a fat dissolving treatment.
Where was your parents and why Dr's did thatto you at 15? Smth not adding up
I so glad she is getting back into modeling after such a horrible ordeal ❤
I've been considering cryosculpting for about 6 years after having had 2 kids and I get bombarded with so many ads for it, however given I have autoimmune issues, I fear I may get that same backfiring issue or probably trigger something worse 😢 I guess at the end of the day I'm not a supermodel who has to rely on staying 120lbs forever so there's that 😂
The thing that put me off Coolsculpting was they told me for my pot belly pouch I would need 4 paddles, x 3/4 sessions and the total was $4500 😱😬
It was at that point I thought I’d have to just diet hard and watch what I eat forever.
I think the lasting impact on her career is the most troubling. I can’t imagine how devastating losing my ability to do my job would be. Not to mention the fact that she can’t recognise herself in the mirror.
I think the weirdest thing for me was that a Cool Sculpting ad played for me at the beginning of this video o_O
On a side note, SHOUT OUT TO BONDI SANDS! Awesome vegan Australian brand! ❤❤❤ Thanks for showing them!

That risk is EXTREME. And it needs to be known how extreme it is.
Judging by the increasing number of people speaking up, I smell a class action brewing.
This is why im afraid of plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures. If it can happen to LE then it can happen to anyone. Plus its soo expensive !!!
Get lipo.
I much prefer the safer and less expensive laser lipo and fat cativation.
lol i love your humor you are my "Spill the tea" segment
Paradoxical Lipedema. It happens. After cool sculpt, the body starts to collect fat in the treated area in combo with INFLAMMATION and connective tissue damage. Fat lumps and swelling can be difficult to treat. They would need to be CUT OUT, remove the connectivr tissue latice with hard fat deposits that have become calcified.

“Linda of Angelista!” Lol
I have to say that this is tempting because no matter how much exercise and diet I do I have a big fat stomach that I’ve had since I was around ten years old. Even when I’ve lost around 30 pounds my stomach has stayed fat. I literally look pregnant. It’s not a “little pooch” I’ve done every diet, eliminates certain foods, calorie restricted, exercised every single day, done stomach-centered exercises (even though they say you can’t spot-burn fat) NOTHING WORKS. So, I want to try liposuction or coolscultping

Huhm! Like with paradoxical hypertrichosis after laser, that would be so upsetting. I understand the helplessness and ongoing pain that comes with some flippant professional going ahead with whatever work... from a bad dentist....
How the heck did I get a Cool Sculpting ad before the video?!
You leave Miss Linda out of this 😂
I think, maybe start with one area, like behind one knee first. to see the result and how your body react. Like when you try a new hair coloration.
"Surgically surgicalled on" 😂
They say 1% has PAH...
I got a cool sculpting ad when I opened this video lmao
Bingo wings is crazy 😂😂😂
Cool Sculpting is the Tesla of weightloss procedures.
Thank you for this video! I just shared it with friends because I have genuinely been considering getting cool sculpting done, and now I know not to go near it!
Was it ironic that an ad for cool sculpting came on before the video?😅
While it's 100% not her fault that they messed up, it's still really sad to me that she felt the need to get the surgeries at all when she looked absolutely lovely already. Idk, I do still feel a little weird about how "deformed" to her just means looking like an average 50-60 year old...
Any single time i hear stories like this i think of my relfection and im like nahh im good bro. Im beautiful I don't need any of this shit happening to me. 🤣😩😩 just love yourself. Its the most liberating feeling.
It’s awful she had this experience! I can’t even imagine! I’m glad she won the lawsuit!
Bondi sands is amazing. I use their vitamin c serum and it's the only serum that works for my hyperpigmentation.❤
Had severe burns from the cool sculpt. Also the science behind is bullshit. I was my mother in law's guinea pig. Me and my sister in law had 2nd degree burns. I was swollen for weeks, it was horrible
I actually contemplated this... Now I'm second guessing.😢
I would say it’s a very rare side effect! Speak to a professional about it, do your research and I’m sure you’ll be fine!
21:04 Miss means you're unmarried (and/or young) and Mrs means you are married.
Ms. is like Mr. It doesn't change based on your status. I have been Ms. since the early 90s because I believe a woman's identity does not need to be tied to their relationship status.
also the fact that they keep focusing on being fda cleared vs fda approved is kinda sus.
There is Sculptsure: a similar procedure that uses warmth. It has zero chance of this horrible side effect. Eventually it will put cool sculpting out of business just for that reason alone. (It also works better and is more comfortable.
Linda of Angelista😂 omg
What were the eye pad things called?..
"surgically surgicaled-on" 😂
I was just listening while cleaning & I swear I heard him say, "it smells like whore heaven" lmao. I always watch/listen at 1.5x speed so that plus that adorable accent did it 😂. For a hot second there I was thinking, I wonder if that smells good or bad... it could go either way LMAO
Edit: @1:32
So glad this video popped up in my feed! I’ve recently gone through a massive weight loss but still have the double chin. I was gonna get this procedure done BUT NOT NOW! Thanks for the warning!
Speaking of Linda of Angelista, as a child I thought Hulk Hogans name was pronounced Hul Kogan.
"Pleased to meet you Mr.Kogan."
Duhhhhhh...😂❤
I do wonder how lipo could have been ineffective at correcting this. If anyone knows?
If you don't use Facebook why do I keep seeing your videos through your channel on it?!?🤌🏻🤭😁🤣😂
I think people don't realize that hard bricks of fat from the procedure can be painful. Abby Sharp also recently spoke out about her disfigurement from cool sculpting and didn't realize it was specifically from cool sculpting until Linda's lawsuit.
1% isn’t what I’d classify as rare when it comes to complications. 1 in 100 people left with disfigurements from this procedure… that’s wild.
I was thinking the same thing!!! Like those are pretty bad odds 😫
10:24 call me crazy but 1% of patients affected is a larger amount than what should be allowed for such a potentially disfiguring condition
That’s 1 in 100 patients, that’s an absolutely absurd occurrence rate in my opinion
Especially since this commons side effect isn’t being disclosed prior to treatment
100% agree!
I thought the same!
Right ? I’m a military veteran and they tell us “one percent of Americans join the military “ . I know HELLA other military folks. 1 % of people is still a large percentage
@@Gwendysfinaltaskexactly! Even just 1% of the world’s population is around *80 MILLION people.* ITS A LOT OF PEOPLE, EVEN IF ITS 1% OF THE WORLD’S TOTAL POPULATION
One silver lining is that since this happened to her, she had the money and status to bring it to light! There has to be so many more people that this had happened to who agreed to the non-disclosure because they couldn't afford corrective surgery themselves!
Irrelevant but can all of us Americans start calling popsicles “ice lollies”? Much cuter
😂😂😂
We call them icy-poles in australia
I'm in!
As an American I'm on board
@@Guitarbarella icy poles! How cute
Wow. I can’t imagine. I recently cried and was depressed for two days after I got a haircut that made me feel that I didn’t look like myself. Thank you for sharing this!
Is that considered as normal behavior?
@@DJPoundPuppyThe "as" doesn't belong.
@@DJPoundPuppy lots of people are really attached to their hair. Some haircuts can really change the way your face looks, so I can imagine that haircuts are disorienting for some at first.
I wonder if Zeltek knows that the surgery is typically unsuccessful so they make a habit of forcing last minute confidentiality with the threat of revoking the financial support
This would scare the average patient into agreeing because they likely can’t cover it themselves
For a surgery that seems like it won’t work
Yikes
i just wanted to thank you for always having accurate and well timed subtitles on your videos! i sometimes struggle with listening to people talk and like to use subtitles to help me catch things so i don't have to constantly rewind the video, but autogenerated subtitles just make things harder for me. it means a lot having creators actually put in the effort to accomodate to the needs of their audience :)
Agreed. As a half deaf person subtitles are a blessing.
Agreed! I also have auditory processing troubles and find captions super helpful and v much appreciate it
Gotta love Ashton!
❤
Abbey Sharp also just released a video about her having the same side effects! I definitely believe there's more cases of this than they claim.
Yes I saw that too!
The same Abbey Sharp who poo hoos diets that work for some but she finds distasteful yet will never try??!
@kateaye3506 I think because of her history of ED and her expertise she just recognizes that a lot of them are problematic and fear monger certain foods
There’s defs evidence that they’re MAJORLY downplaying how common this is ://
@Kate Aye lol did her opinion on your special diet hurt your feelings 🤣
