*The History of KONYAK NAGAS Aoleang festival 👇
Aoleang Monyü is an ancient spring festival celebrated by all Konyaks in the first week of Aoleang lee (April) since time immemorial. Aoleang is observed to mark the end of the old year and to welcome the new-year beginning with spring. Prayers are offered to God for a bountiful harvest.
* What is the significance of Konyak AOLEANG FESTIVAL ?

It is observed after the time of sowing seeds in new fields. Aoleang celebrations also mark the end of the current year and welcome the begining of the new year with the spring season. It is the time to pray for a bountiful harvest of crops in the current year. Aoleang is spread for six days from 1st to 6th April.
*What is the origin of Konyak?
The Konyaks are of Mongoloid in origin. Before the advent of Christianity into Nagaland, the Konyaks were the believers of “Animism” worshipping different objects of nature. About 95% of the population follows the Christian faith now.
