Been following your channel for quite a while as I searched for a trawler for two years to get back to MI for summers there. A few boats slipped away but most trawlers were priced high and were older and rough in condition. In OCT I came across a 2000 Carver 406 with 1000 hours on twin Cummins 5.9 370hp versions. New Garmin everything and a new bow thruster, freshwater its entire life and indoors every witner. My dream mechanicals but not in my dream boat and I could not pass up the price of 160k. A really nice quality American made boat and if you can find the rare ones with diesels you can cruise at over 3MPG. Nice to see one on your channel and thanks for all the good and helpful reviews!
Congrats! I'm a big fan of Carvers for being very comfortable liveaboards without breaking the bank. I appreciate your support in following my channel, and hope you enjoy many more seasons onboard.
I have looked at two of the boats you have reviewed. The Integrity and the Mainship at Lambs. Your reviews are spot on! We are looking at the Carver Saturday morning. The exploring of our options is fun and your reviews are a great guide. Thank you. Richard & Cyndi
That's awesome! I'm glad my videos are bringing you value and not just for entertainment 🤠 The Carver in no way disappoints. At face value, you could move onboard tomorrow!
You're right Greig! This would be a perfect Liveaboard!! So relaxing and so well maintained. Certainly won't last long!! Thanks for the great presentation! ✌️🏳️🌈✌️
Nice boat great tour I like your sensible descriptions and overview not a big Carver fan from a nothing to look at style of boat traditionally the clorox bottle like designs from days gone by Carvers resonate in my mind when I hear it's name but not this one I'm not sure what the next boat will be definitely want Diesel but this boat makes me reconsider Thanks JT
Thanks for the compliments. I actually got asked tonight to film a slightly bigger Carver with twin diesels mid to late February. I don't have much info to go on, but will have the video up asap 😉
That's a good price. A very nice live aboard for a couple and yet small enough for solo sailing. Upgrade electronics for trips to to the islands, a watermaker and washer/dryer and you'd never have to leave the the boat.
I've poked around the web trying to get a definitive answer, and it seems that at around 10mph, you would have a range of around 300 miles for when distance is the key. I'd recommend looking up flow meters during the sea trial if you were seriously looking at buying, as each boat can differ with weight and configurations, etc.
@@GarnockReviews I'm getting closer to retirement and I'm serious, maybe not this boat but another. Have you seen housing prices and interest rates for homes?
For the right person and boat, I'd highly recommend living onboard. You won't find a nice 2 bedroom home for $100k in this area, the boats a great alternative 😉
Quite a boat, Garnock, and quite an extensive review. A bit like filming a maze. Looks like Hansen is beginning to challenge Mark Zeigler's reputation for used creampuffs. Thank you.
So I understand this is a quick boat. But if you were to slow it down to say 8 knots like some of these trawlers do would the range significantly increase?
Thanks for the compliments. I'm not 100% sure on the fuel figures, and I think it may be sold as it's no longer on Mike's website. Great cruising yacht and amazing value for money 😎
Boat prices over here are coming down fast. I still keep an eye on brokers over in Scotland that I know, and it seems like the UK is holding on to those high prices. I'm sure it must be making it harder to achieve quick sales 😬
Good boat. With a positive survey, I would purchase it for limited spec. Sorry but, engine compartment says it all. That's the first area of neglect. Good job master.
Dayum, I wish my financial situation were just a little better, I'd buy that boat in a heartbeat and do the Great Loop (at least! Perhaps even Bermuda!)
That's the nicest yacht for the money that I have seen in a while
When it comes to value for money, it's hard to beat a Carver 😉

A real comfortable live aboard. Your accent adds a lot of class to the review, lol. Another great tour.
🏴 You can take the man out of Scotland, but you can't take Scotland out the man 🤪🏴
@@GarnockReviews please sr. Thes bolt is sale nau?
Nice boat at a reasonable price, thanks for sharing.
Great value for money, thanks for watching 😉

Thanks Bryan, I wouldn't be surprised she gets snapped up quickly as well 😉
Great boat. I have a 2000 356 Carver.
Awesome! Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed it 😉
Just me and 2 dogs, that would work but im more upward of 50-55 ft cause i wanna go back and forth from Maine to Florida in winter
I'm due to film a 47ft trawler mid-February for my channel that's being prepped right now for sale 😉

Another great walk through at this nice boat. Thanks for the video 👍😎

Esta bonito el bote y bien cuidado y el precio razonable. Muy buena presentación.
It's a keeper! I'd move in tomorrow! If the universe allows.😊
Wish l was in the market ..boat looks .." Brand New " ..very nice !!!
I wish she was in my budget as well. One of the best boats I've seen at this price point in a long time 😎
Tempted...to live full time on something like that..presently ..in a 42 ' Winnebago Tour tag axle calling this home ...but always ...Loved Boats !
This would be a great liveaboard, and at a fantastic price!!
Wow, this is a good deal!
Bargain either as a cruiser or as a liveaboard. I was not surprised at all when this one sold so quickly.
It looks beautiful on camera to me.
Great boat inside and out. I'm not surprised she sold quickly, especially at this price point.
That's a good price. A very nice live aboard for a couple and yet small enough for solo sailing. Upgrade electronics for trips to to the islands, a watermaker and washer/dryer and you'd never have to leave the the boat.
She's already got the washer dryer in the aft cockpit 😉 I just saved you more money for the fuel tanks 🤠
@@GarnockReviews What do you think the range of the boat is? Would bigger tanks be necessary for trips to the Bahamas and more remote islands?

Thanks for the support as always. I'm supposed to be filming with another broker in a couple of weeks to add to the mix as well 😎
So I understand this is a quick boat. But if you were to slow it down to say 8 knots like some of these trawlers do would the range significantly increase?
Very much so. If you were to cruise at around say 7 knots like a trawler, the fuel range should increase significantly.
Extremely nice vessel, I’m wondering what the fuel consumption would be ?
Does the owner have any data?
Thanxs for your excellent reviews
Thanks for the compliments. I'm not 100% sure on the fuel figures, and I think it may be sold as it's no longer on Mike's website. Great cruising yacht and amazing value for money 😎

Thank you , and yes according to the site I found out it was sold .

30 MPH top speed? That's moving for a live aboard trawler type boat!

I loved thes bolt,I wont to mi house in Brazil.
Ainda está a venda?
This one sold quickly 😎

Thes is a diesel or gas?
Twin gas engines on this one 😉
Is it still available ?
It was as of earlier today 😎 I had Mike check my video before going live to make sure I had all the details correct 😉
Wow. Nice boat. Can I borrow 110,000 from you.😂. It is a nice vessel, but I want a sail boat.
Watch this space......my next video to post over the weekend or early next week is a sailing yacht 🤠
too bad it is not diesel. Nice boat
Although diesel was an option, it seems like most of the smaller Carvers are gas. I'm assuming a big price difference on new?
Thes bolt is mi house
Iam importation thes bolt to Brazil
