Visit your dad asap and as much as possible. mine just died a couple weeks ago and i would give anything to talk to him right now.
20 years at the end of next month for me. I would give every tomorrow I have to have said goodbye.
@@BAAWAKnight i know how you feel. my mom passed 3 years ago, and im the one who took care of my dad since. its not easy, and my siblings, who only seem to care about money are making my life a living hell. id give every tomorrow for it to have been me instead of him.
Dude, I'm so sorry you lost your dad. I just lost my mother in Feb.
I feel you man, my dad passed away just under a month ago, pancreatic cancer, came out of nowhere. I'd give everything I have for another day with him. 68 is just too young.
@@sharon94503 thanks, I lost my mom 3 years ago. I know it gets easier but it sure sux rite now.
Do I have a Mac?-No. Do I do repairs?-No. Do I enjoy watching Louis Rossmann!-Yes!
I didn't like Apple before starting to watch Louis's videos. Now I despise Apple hardware.
@@MikkoRantalainen apple products? Those are nice. Apple as a whole? Absolute trash
@@recklesssquirel5962 even thats being nice their products especially macbooks are not nice
@@MikkoRantalainen I despise apple hardware. I despise SOME apple software practices that are anti competition. I love Apple consumer data protection. It is a mixed bag.
I have a confession to make: I watch this awesome educational content purely for entertainment. Still, this is a service to the world.
After watching this, I now fear answering Louis questions, in case I get something wrong and get both nose-flicked and guilt-tripped for it :(
Makes me want to go through all the other video guides to be able to answer. Even though i have no desire to fix mac books.
@@atomicdynamite1937 You can also go to Logiki or repairwiki. which doesnt require hundreds of hours of watching his videos. :>
@@kopazwashere Then you miss out on the commentary and the process. The process of figuring out what failed teaches critical thinking and problem solving. Your method is the same as only reading the last page of a mystery novel, going "HE/SHE DID IT!" and you miss out on all the interesting bits in between.
You get a Dreamie if you get it right though... well worth the risk.
Hey Louis, I have perfectly steady hand, so much steady that I perform microsoldring jobs without microscope. And I really didn't need any tricks to came in this industry, I just need visa to came to this industry to work with Rossman group. And I would like to came to newyork one day to meet you or if God chose then work there.👍
Respect from "India"(Delhi N.C.R).
Woo more MacBook repairs!
I personally would love to see more of the warranty repairs (if you even have more), more companies could take your hint about how to back up thier work.
Louis should sell a shirt saying FAN SPIN! WE HAVE FAN SPIN! or something to that effect.
We love you Louis plus the content is really good. I'm 69 and reasonably technically literate (I teach electrical safety, industrial automation and control to advanced as well as apprentices) so this is a very gratifying to see a young man like you so committed to his career with such passion. After 48 years in the electrical trade with significant interaction with industrial electronics I have a deep appreciation for your technical abilities but primarily your troubleshooting skills, passion and dedication. Always a pleasure keep up the good work inspires me much!
Thank you! That means a lot coming from you.
Do not put off spending time with someone you love. You can buy anything! Except Time. No amount of money can buy you time.
If you believe that, I got a time machine to sell you...
money CAN buy time you can pay someone to make your food get you places help you do jobs then you have more free time.....money can and do buy time ...the thing is balancing everything
the funny thing is we use a lot of money buying time even if you are poor you are buying time the moment you get on the bus or train to get places that you can get by foot but you dont want to be late
@@Sm0ke821 Exactly! Money buys you time up to a certain point. After that you're just hoarding other people's time without being able to use it yourself.
You were only killing time but it kills you right back.
Yeah you're back doing repair, missed this man
Family is important. Especially your parents. Take your time to show them love.
get your toxic positivity out of here
I love you
If you can, tell your dad we appreciate him for teaching you the stuff that you now teach to us :)
I have no idea about board repairs, I just love to see the flux shine with the lighting.
If Louis Moved to the South He would have a heart attack at our awesomely slow work pace.
But that’s just how we are. Damn Humidity kills everything here.
Yup, its 64% today 5-18-21 in Bama. I work in a garage so sucks a lot.
been here 16 years and I still hate it 😅
I went to Kansas once and *lost my mind* watching people work. I visited this company that had over 16 people doing the work that I had 4 people doing.
One person edited the social media videos, the other person filmed them, the other person scripted them - THAT'S ONE JOB
One person packed the product, one person picked the product, one person printed the shipping label - THAT'S ONE JOB!!!!!
and so on, and so forth. don't even get me started on how slow everyone was moving. Absolute insanity. I would've laid off 75% of them on the spot if it were my company.
I would probably get run out of town if I tried to become an employer in a midwest or southern town.
@@rossmanngroup we need more like you down here. Increase production and ones who work get increased wages.
The south is where the Apple androids live?
I was absolutely terrified of working with SMD board components for the longest time until I started watching your board repair videos. You make it look utterly effortless, all the while bantering with viewers.
Eventually I started practicing on my own with lots of flux and a decent hot air gun and a good soldering iron and am now more comfortable with it. Thanks, Louis!
Well, first video I get to watch fully in over 2 years, and turns out he is doing quizzes no!?! I missed so much!
i just love watching Louis cursing at chat and the stupid apple machines that gives him some headache.
I really enjoy these board repair videos. Thanks!
My fingers are not meant for such precise work.
Seriously, back in high-school the teacher said my soldering was the worst she had seen in 40 years of teaching electronics. And a couple months ago I spent a whole week trying and failing to properly solder my kitchen lights. Finally got them working without the connections falling off on the 8th day.
This is the first time I've read the training guide, and it's really awesome.
Louis, please forgive me, I showed up stoned to class, and didn't realize there would be a test.
I'll get it right next time, I swear!
Wtf😂
I've been watching Louis for a few years now, I still giggle like an immature 28 year old when he says PPBus
Still loving these Macbook repairs Louis...!
Rich.
You are such a cool guy Louis!
Two repair videos in a week? You're spoiling us.
Louis: I'd consider eating wasabi for 600k
Also Louis: ends the stream immediately just to be safe
Stuff happens. Thanks louis for helping us to understand that. I hope your customer takes your advice and looks into that potential charger issue.
honestly I don't understand much about electronics I just love seeing master level soldering
Wishing a dead CPU is not the kind of ROBUST CONVERSATIONS we want to have on this platform
Love your tutorials thank you
Hey Louis, are you ok? You didn't use to shake that much.
Noticed that on last video. Really bad shaking but totally still when zeroing in on a measurement. Mytery to me.
ya i noticed that too and it kinda worries me since louis is a really good human being
@@johnsmith42 never assume I am a good human being. a good rule of thumb for anyone you don't know personally!
@@rossmanngroup exactly what a good human being would say.
Excited to repair :p
Thanks for all your vidz,... watching for more than 2 years... Best man louis !
when i really need a board repair for a client. you'll be the call i make.
Good to hear Herb.
I've heard so much good stuff about your dad. You really need to do a sit down video with him.
sounds like paul and i have similar luck
many coworkers have the midas touch where every job turns to gold...i have the fecal touch
I just clean consoles as a hobby Idk much about this but it’s fascinating
Ah the OG content. I miss these although I do enjoy Rossmann Realty, and Rossmann Reality.
Great content as always! Just a quick tip: If you hit the processor with your hot air station for a few seconds the fan will spin immediately.
I have used that cooling technique at work for years, works well
I loved this video. I wish i was smart like you guys. I try to learn repairs.
"What we do here is we teach component level board repair."
You might be teaching but i'm not learning, muahahaha or something
Power on the chip would merely make it possible to turn on the open drain transistor so the line is pulled low. I would make sure that the pull-up resistor has power; that power being absent could make the line low abnormally. Of course, they might have the same supply so that checking either is checking both.
I used to use a hakko for NOT soldering purposes. Specifically the ceramic one ;)
Hey Louis! Thanks for the repair video, educational and entertaining as usual. I watched allot of your videos but never see you shake like that before, if it keeps up go get it checked. Your young and health is important.
Another awesome video!
wooooo finally repair video!
3:32 made me laugh so hard. never thought that way before
Thanks for the Video
Those Charging chips are, still, made at Cypress ,in Colorado Springs
I enjoy your videos, very educational. I really like the gloves you use to work on computers too! What kind of gloves are those? May I ask, since they look very comfortable & easy to work with. Great production Louis!!
Great repair..
yep
Do you fix Nvidia GPU boards also? The value of them these days makes it worth seeking repair since replacement is not an option.
@17:55 "Factory baby ! Factory !" Lol.
I enjoy your channel
Your way of eating wasabi is exactly the way to do it, otherwise you put too much soy sauce for the spice. Source: Japanese wife. but also plenty of Japanese eating/tradition shows I have seen. (it is quite a heavily contested sushi etiquette within japan as well, though. Depends on the prefecture)
Think about the joy ten seconds after the wasabi, when you realise it’s not the end! :D I love it!
Louis calling me buddy makes me feel like I've a friend beside me during lock down.
I actually like the TS-100, hacked it to boost the power. its not perfect but it gets the job done.
Apple amaze me more and more each day, fancy leaving the fan off until the temp is 80c. That is batshit crazy. I've honestly no idea why people buy their crap any more.
What’s the alternative? Acer? Asus? Or maybe even - shudder in my pants and breaking sweat - Huawei?
@@wolfgangpreier9160 I use a Lenovo laptop, have no problems with it at all.
@@8-bitsteve500 Me too but i did not want to mention the big boys like HP Fujitsu and Lenovo. My customers don't have any problems with their Apple products. Besides sometimes changing the battery which is - not so easy. But thats all. I think Louis is hilarious and sometimes i guess all New Yorkers are as crazy as he is. But of course thats only a stereotype.
I love you Louis.... in the most bro way! Thank you so much for keeping viable components, and boards out of the land fill.
Get out of NY, come to Ohio
Where in Ohio is worth checking out?
@@rossmanngroup if you want to live in the city, Cleveland, Cincinnati, or Dayton. You would have to drive more than what you are accustomed to. I’m a business person also, and I love it here. My business isn’t in a city, so I don’t have all the city bullshit; no taxes, no zoning, no bureaucrats.
Have a good week sir
Ps. I pay $1200 a month for a 2200 square foot shop.
Great on Louis, as you say, people need to understand that electronic devices are like old light bulbs, they work, then you switch them off or on and they fuze. From what I understand, it is a cascade effect, one failing, started a failure in a connected chip/piece. Great example of problem solving and analysis. Paul on the other hand, watching the video: WTF happened?
Mr. Rossmann, I'm just auditing this class. Is it OK if I don't know a damn thing?
very interesting video
Wait, hang on when removing the IC (ISL) the gates of the mosfets is floating that could cause that you see a short on PPBUS_G3H, on DC-IN board the Zener diode blows. Carp charger cause these problems
man you is fantastic
Well, turn out Louis got the correct way to eat sushi, without mixing the soy sauce and wasabi, it become a mess.
I used to shake too much too solder.... now i can thread a bondwire through a bonding needle.... Drop the carbs :)
"I would cease to exist" - Louis Rossmann 2021 😂
Yay fan spin... oh and thermal throttling
Louis where do you get the gloves that you use?
What's with the shaking hands? :O I've watched your vids before and you were bad... but not terrible!
Enjoy your channel
Goals are be at this level
Daaamn, I'm always too late for these videos to be live and answer the questions. :-(
Great stuff 👍👍from 🇦🇺🇦🇺
Louis cannot say let see some fan spin with the MBA M1 😆
You should do a meet up in the finger lakes
these are interesting videos to run as background noise.
On wasabi- You're actually doing it correctly. You aren't ever supposed to put wasabi in the soy sauce, you are supposed to put it in the sushi itself. At actual sushi bars in Japan it's put inside nigiri automatically and you have to ask for no wasabi if you don't want it. As always, people who want to lecture down to others will be the most sure of themselves when they are dead wrong.
But also you're eating your own personal lunch in the privacy of your own lunch break so who cares
Louis, I am somewhat appalled at the quantity of flux you use. I am not really concerned about that. But what I have never seen in your videos is the end result after U.S, cleaning or simple IPA spray and brush. Just reckon this would be a good (closeup) post repair strategy for your repair videos.
I am so pleased about the NY version of the RTP bill that gained its initial threshold. Congratulations you, your repair team and also the many active supporters you have collected around you.
Hey Louis, go get Paul a lucky charm!
the beginning resemble skyrim intro lol. something like when you're knocked out cold and louis wake you up to teach you how to fix a macbook
Whats with the shakes? Did you get the wrong flavour?
I'll show myself out
I put wasabi directly in/on my sushi too, I'm with ya. 🔥
WOW.
You don't charge them for rework, even a year later? that's pretty awesome. that's a very low risk as a customer... well worth the price to know it'll be reliable.
Apple being Apple… Late fan spin! 😂… Learned that the hard way, sold a a1502 2015 on 2015 and the customer called me to tell me that the fan wasn’t turning on… Spent hours waiting while he took it to Apple to check it, once he found out it was ok he closed the claim, oh! This was on eBay… 😅 and sent from Venezuela… So… was really worried, it was a 23 of December too! 🥲😅😂
I think we all have a few screws loose
Wasabi is the one type of heat you could get away with. It doesn't last and will clean out your nasal cavity.
If it was a really hot pepper, I would ask for a heck of a lot more than $50 for the much longer suffering lol
I’ve eaten a load of wasabi raw accidentally a few times… And honestly, while I wouldn’t eat a load of it like that normally, it wasn’t that bad really. I mean, it burnt of sorts, sure. But it really cleared the sinuses and whatnot. Nice in a way
I'm almost certain that putting the board up to the hakko like that doesn't really cool it the way you think it would. Air blowing on the board would, but a vacuum against the board, thusbresticting the airflow, not so much.
Yeah, but it's kind of funny.
Isn't the ppbus just a fancy word for the urethra?
You are the best bro 🤔🤔🤔
Wow, as soon as you said you are going to flick your own nose, I got an itch and did it... Damn it.
Macbook logic board repair learning squad reporting for duty.
TIL I learned what SMC stands for, or rather, what it doesn't
Louis or anyone else qualified / experienced, I have just started breaking into hot air does it matter if the amteck flux is sealed w the cap or can I leave the tip on it?
I was wondering to myself after going through the damage if it may have been a knockoff charger...
Nothing just dies, there is always a reason.
Louis, we all know that cats are main feature of this channel… now if you had a face mask of Mr. Clinton while doing board repairs, or have occasional pop-in pictures of Blackberry, then their will be actual retention towards these board repair videos xD
