I just pulled behind this truck today! Spoke with the new owner who happens to live in my neighborhood. He said he just bought this a month ago. I also just brought my 1967 Scout 800, all original down from our Montana ranch to Austin as well. It's in the shop right now getting a little needed overhaul.
Leave the Truck as is. Don't screw it up. That's what I would do with it. The truck is all original how many do u get in like this one. What a great truck!
when we lived on the farm we had an old International like this.. but it was green and had a 265 cu. in. V8 dad bought used in 1972 just prior to moving to the farm. and when I came to driving age.. I was taught how to drive in that old truck .. yes I am a fan of those old cornbinders
I owned the same cornbinder Hank owns.Except mine was a 1 ton,4 wheel drive.I "m 63 years old,best truck I"ve ever owned.Could plow a country lane "from dusk till dawn".-ain"t too many things us ole boy"s can"t do!

Sweet looking truck. That's what a truck should be: utilitarian, and ready to go anywhere at a moments notice. If I had a truck like that, the ONLY thing I'd have modified is the engine. I'd upgrade to a diesel engine, possibly a 4BT Cummins diesel or something that delivers plenty of torque to tow a small travel trailer while still getting close to 20mpgs.
I had one just like that, except the hood was black. It had a slant 4 with really big cylinders, same motor and transmission as the scout (I think). And leaf springs front and back. You couldn"r make it bottom out. I think mine was a 66 but I could be wrong on that. It was a long time ago. The grill was identical to the one in the video.
Yes it was confusing for the 1965 and 66 as they both had the same grille.. Dad's 65 international D1100 series was indeed a 1965 but back in the day any left over vehicle at the end of the year many dealerships would take the 65s that look very similar to the 65 virtually no changes .. and retitled them as 66s so my dad's is actually a 65 but titled as a 66 this was before the Federal govt stepped and made it illegal to change model years on titles to keep dealership from jacking up the original prices to match 1966 prices..
There is a subtle difference in grills. The 1965 has just the "INTERNATIONAL" emblem in the center. For 1966, they added "wings" to either side of "International", just long narrow bands of polished aluminum. Unfortunately, they had to drill holes in the grill to mount them so people like me can't just buy a 1966 grill without leaving holes when removing those "wings". I bought one sight unseen online and the seller assured me it was "perfect". I ended up having to beat it into shape with a dead blow hammer and piece of wood. It was missing one "wing" so I had to remove the other one, leaving a bunch of mounting holes. Since it went on my 1967 1300B one ton dually "Rat Rod", I just went to the bicycle shop and "filled" the holes with different colored bicycle license plate round, plastic reflectors. Looks almost cool...
I been looking for a 66 International on the internet found non with the wings as you say . though I am not disputing.. but its possible .. as the 65 carried over the 64 grille too meanwhile thanks for the information.. thanks you
Pause the above video at 0:23. Study the grille. Dead center in the grille is a band of metal. Though the above "band of metal" is faded, it should read: "INTERNATIONAL". That's a 1965 grille. The 1966 grilles have additional "bands" on either side [that] extend to each end of the grille. Just search: "1966 International Pick Up Truck" for a photo of those "bands" or "wings". By the way, the 1065/1966 grilles would be described as "waterfall" grilles due to the design of the "teeth". The 1963 and 1964 grilles would best be described as "egg crate" and look pretty cool themselves. I've owned 18 Internationals including 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1964 (2), 1966, 1967 (2) & 1968 (2). I know, I'm a "glutton for punishment"!
By the way, Danielle, it's not only "possible", it's true. I also forgot, the 1964 and 1965 grilles are ad different as night and day. There's no confusing the two. I've owned most of the 1960's models and know them like the back of my foot.

The 265 was a straight 6 the smallest v8 they made was a 266 v8

I have one that I drove for years. It's sitting on the farm now waiting for me to find time renovate it. Mine is a '64.

Actually internationals were out of the cab at that point. They upgraded to directly beneath the cab so it'll send you through the roof.
