The Riva really shines with music that has real instruments, not synthetic computerized sounds. With the Riva, you can actually hear the kick drums, toms, bass guitar, etc...it's more "real-fi" than hi-fi.
I liked the riva! No it's not as loud as the others but it's still very clear sounding and pleasant to listen to. I like my speaker to be able to be low in volume and still sound great and the riva sure does that well!
Hi Tony, the Riva s needs more hours to "break" his sound up to the top. In my experience two weeks ago, almost nothing changed in the first 6 hours (i listened at 80% volume with drum 'n bass rich of bass). The real change happened in the following 20 hours. Now it is much more bass responsive and seems to sound "much bigger", keeping his transparency and accuracy in the middle and treble. Only problem at high volume is the battery drain :D ...keep us informed, i like your comparatives

Der Riva sollte nächstes mal dann aber geladen sein, denn mit sinkendem Akkustand nehmen die Lautstärke und der Bass ab. Somit soll die Akkulaufzeit verlängert werden. Am Netzteil hingegen wäre wieder nicht gerecht für andere. Der Powermodus sorgt halt auch für Lautstärke, meiner eigenen Erfahrung nach ist der Bass dabei aber schwächer, als wenn bei voller Lautstärke kein Powermode an ist.

Clearly the sound of the JBL is overly hyped and its got tons of compression going on. The Riva is clearly the winner if allround-ness is important.
I prefer the Riva Festival.
