Thank you so much for your teaching on how to make a lace dress. I learned to sew when I was in home ec. We made a dress. After that I am self taught over 50 years. This will be my first lace dress. I'm excited!
I just wanted to say, I've never seen someone cut out fabric the same way I do. Cut out notches as triangles and place the pins parallel to the pattern piece. 😍
In sewing books I've only seen the notches cut into the seam allowance, but I always worry about cutting too far. This way seems to work :) I feel that pinning parallel helps prevent the fabric moving
Hi Melanie!! Wonderful vlog.. Love how your dress turned out, you did a fabulous job.. Your tutorial is awesome too... Your color & fabric choice is spot on ... 💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵
You are so talented! Can I ask you a question, I have a similar lace but I think mine is thicker. Can I still use this technique? Or do I need to cut out the lace different at the darts? :)
Hi Moa! My lace is quite thick, probably thicker than it looks on camera. I trimmed off all the excess fabric on the darts to less than 1cm to help get rid of the bulk. Try sewing together a sample of 2 layers of lace and 2 layers of lining to see how thick the seam will be. You can overlap lace for darts and I will show this in a future video :)
Very beautiful
You’re are a great teacher!

Lace is challenging to sew but definitely worth the effort. Best of luck!

Hi, I love this type of lace thou it’s costly, it’s a treasure very well done on instruction and presentation the final garment spinning. 🌷👌🏾👼🏿🙍🏽💕
Yes, this lace is quite expensive. You might be able to get it secondhand, that's how I bought this lace. Thanks for the sweet comment!

Prima Dressmaker thank you! I am thinking of overlapping it but I think it’ll work with just normal darts :)
@@moooa2023 I hope it works out well! 👍
Detailed and lovely tutorial ! But I still lost regarding the over lap seams😞
