I just heard the news from my brother that this lady has been honoured by Kingy as "Master Of The King's Music". This is music for the modern age. Excellent stuff. You've made a good choice, Charles.
I love all the mini-solos in this; it's like one of those rock concerts, when the band members get introduced one-by-one; "and over here on the 88's, we have Elizabeth Burley!" (crowd goes wild) ; P
what a refreshing, transparent and beautiful work. I am blown away. WOW. It is so heartwarming to realize there is such talent getting exposure like Errollyn Wallen. Her music defies a label , its pure music. And also lots of fun , by the way!!! You have a new admirer Mrs. Wallen . Greetings from The Netherlands
It is utterly intoxicating! Perfect neoclassical fizz with added cheeky jazz references. I love those "lazy" open piano chords at 4.40ish. It is music that defies labelling. New, interesting and exciting but also accessible without being derivative. The beginning of the third movement reminds me of Karl Richter's reimagining of the Four Seasons, and with the opening of the 4th movement I feel as if I have slipped into a bar late at night in Argentina to experience some off-the-wall Astor Piazzolla! Bravo Errolyn Wallen! Massive respect. And bravo AoSMITF for a razor sharp performance of utter conviction.
Remarkable music. And now she has given us a Violin concerto with Quint! So good to hear this again. Unforgettable even a year ago but now the slowmovement resonates wme more deeply and the invention and fancy too the players show her
Mvt. II -- 5:05 Mvt. III -- 10:30 Mvt. IV -- 11:41 So happy to hear this exciting piece. Full of surprises, like the leisurely Mvt. II that has a brief comic outburst. And played with such brilliance and completely without affectation or theatrics.
Tepid. I think I've played in one of her compositions. That referenced - a little - early Schoenberg, but in a similarly tepid fashion. Nothing original, but that isn't the fashion. I'm now going to listen to some real Martinu and Grazyna Bacewicz rather than the teenage pastiche.
''Errollyn Wallen: Concerto Grosso'' I have Seen Errollyn Wallen along with Myleene Klass recently on Sky arts ''Musical Masterpieces'' After seeing her discussing Vivaldi ''Four Seasons'' and Bizet ''Carmen''' I wondered what her own compositions were like.Well for me, nothing special at all, rather a bland and disappointing composition. For fans of modern classical music composers only. Much like with most modern composers that have their works appear on the yearly BBC proms, receive rapturous applause and most vanish rarely to ever to be heard again !
Master of the King's Music..this news brought me here...congratulations.
From the same place as the kings clothes.........
Me too.
@@bf99ls…and me. So pleased to hear this news - and the music, of course… light and enlightenment in a rather troubled world.
Me too.

This is so pretty. Especially the 2nd mmvt. Feels like a train is driving on the ocean and you just watching it far away from little hill on a island

wonderful!
This gives me hope for modern music. Jessie Montgomery could learn a thing or two from Master Wallen.
This could be used in a Star Trek movie or as a part of any new science fiction show. The Roddenberies need to give this one a heads up.
thrilling

Definition of middlebrow. Still they could have given Debbie Wiseman the job. Maybe she's next.
