Royal Oak is absolutely beautiful, and I really like that Elizabeth Meta. Definitely my favorite two of the new bunch. Gear skins are kind of whatever - not bad and not amazing. Loving the dorm theme a lot. I'll be forced to buy a few of the new skins for sure. They really do need to work on the oath skin and L2D output though. The dynamic skins are always great, but I hope it isn't their intent to pump those out as replacements simply because it's the easy and cheaper route. Of course I'm always hoping that we see some aspect of the collabs over here in the West. Anyways, thanks for the rundown, appreciated as always.

New Jersey didn't get a L2D skin in her release. Several other UR ships didn't get one when they were released like Shinano, Musashi, Yorktown II, and now Implacable.

@@uuwa_09 Yorktown II's swimsuit skin isn't L2D. It's dynamic motion which just has a fixed animation like UR/DR ships have with their default appearance. There's also no interactive animation in dynamic motion when you touch them. New Jersey is indeed quite popular but there are other ships more popular. Some of the old favorites like Belfast don't have a L2D skin yet. An L2D skin would be nice for her but that would depend on the artist since it takes a significant more time and effort to produce one.
L2D on release for a UR has been hit or miss, maybe half and half? I do agree that NJ deserves a L2D. Belfast does have a L2D, though the point is that there are still a good number of popular ships who don't. I'd say NJ is actually one of the top of that list all the same, though. Maybe they're saving NJ for this year's Racequeens. Those have been some of the best skins ever released from year to year.
Rum, lime juice and ginger beer makes a good dark and stormy which was a Royal Navy cocktail. Rum to keep people motivated and happy, lime for vitamins and ginger beer for the ginger and stores well. Actually rum was officially rationed in the Royal Navy till only about 8 maybe 10 years ago.

It's an archetype they haven't reached touched upon design-wise, so I suppose it's about time! Someone else also mentioned that Heinrich's skin is based off of one of his designs for her in the past.
Nice recap as always (I'm playing the event while watching your video lol), as a Queen Elizabeth's fan (or shall I say her majesty's loyal servant), I don't mind her not getting a retrofit (for now), I mean it would be boring if they give every popular girl a retrofit, for a live service game it's fun to always to have something to look forward to, it makes it more grandiose when we do get a retrofit (remember how awesome it felt when we got the retrofit for Unicorn last year)

I’d honestly skip this event and wait for the New Jersey rerun It’s highly unlikely Implacable’s going to be the best ship in the game (otherwise the December UR would be pointless), and Unicorn exists for healing There should roughly be enough time to just save cubes to get to 360-400 for a guaranteed New Jersey Assuming you build 1 daily light ship, clear hard mode and daily raid stages and more, and never use cubes until New Jersey’s event This is just for gameplay purposes though, if you don’t care about strongest ships and such, there’s other things more important Although... if you wanted to, you could play on all five servers and have a really good chance (but not certain) of getting both Implacable and New Jersey You probably won’t get them on the same server so you can’t use them together, but from Waifu perspective, you’ll have them It just requires five times the work (it takes an hour a day with that) And about a few more hours for the event stages
We have gotten an extra cubedrop event before Shinano, and of course there's a TON of free pulls with the NJ event. No need to hamper yourself for something that might take several months, allowing you to farm *all* the cubes ever needed for it...
Welcome to the game! The game is so generous that once you have a decent reserve of cubes, you can get pretty much all ships F2P without a hitch. After event dailies, if you're still missing ships, that's when you have to decide. With the structure of the game, every event gets a rerun eventually, so depending on your priorities, it may be worth skipping splurging on the final day of an event.
I'm hoping it turned out to be one as the lack of such would be eyebrow raising. Did you hear about the actual Hornet having an AL convention? IIRC implacable was originally a French ship, doesn't explain the horns though.
I did actually get an invite to the Hornet AL Convention a while back from the organizers, but unfortunately won't be able to make it due to a conflict and the length of traveling. It looks like a really fun time, though! I get FGO's Kiara Sessyoin vibes from Implacable - a sultry nun with a tendency towards sin. She's got horns in her late ascensions.
I try to be optimistic every UR event we get, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit disappointed in this one. We just got a Carrier, and I get this one is probably gonna have something unique about her that makes her good like most UR, but that was a little of a let down. Her design is nice, though the other ships seem a tad mediocre if I'm being honest. Another white haired maid to the roster doesn't really get me excited. The skins, with the exception of two seem a bit one note, and there's no L2D, but they did a ton of them the last UR event so I can understand some. I'll try to enjoy the event, but I guess I was just expecting a bit more.
Totally valid to feel those disappointments. Since we're getting URs with a bit more regularity, the fanfare seems a little more subdued. Hopefully the next UR event satisfies your itch a bit more, but I hopefully you'll be able to enjoy whatever positive notes you can in the course of this one.
My Omnipotent Musashi have been waiting for NJ for a loooong time now. Thank god, I saved more than 700+ cubes for NJ, prolly gonna pull the new CV UR first.
Honestly, I have no idea, and I don't want to give you misinformation. I run both of them with those guns and they're both great. I think it'll depend partly on your fleet composition which overall performs better.
Probably Musashi? But it's not a good way to compare the ships since they have different team utility for other ships, both as part of the active fleet and not.
Like Hero the most, followed by Royal Oak. Skinwise Janus takes the cake, but since I have her L2D and having duplicate skins is very pointless in this game (Random skin when Manjuu?) it's a skip for now. Second best is again, Hero. Probably skipping and saving my gems though on this batch. Batimore on the towel(?) really enjoying the backside of Purifier there... can't blame her. And only now I notice the little Observer figure on her desk. Cute! It's pretty sad how them never fixing the EAGL typo is now tainting the figures forever...
One day we'll get our random skin selector... one day. Lots of little fun details on the Balty/Brem keyboard collab art. Really hope they use it for more merch!
I don't think they got into specifics. Usually we get a little downtime between events, like a week. We'll likely get the Daedalian Hymn rerun before NJ's too.
I love the designs of all the new ships, the last one didn't interest me though. For a second, when I saw Implacable's skin, I thought it was a secretary theme and I could feel wallet-kun start sweating. But the rest of the skins were student themed instead and so wallet-kun rested easy. Man, everytime i see that Baltimore figure, I'm tempted to pull a KenKen and order multiple copies. She looks so good!
Yeah, it seems very much student/teacher themed. I think this batch is pretty appealing as far as the theming goes. Hahah, I think KenKen only did that for Atago and Takao on a dare, but Balty definitely looks ridiculously good!

No retrofit for QE is sad but that hot nun made me forget all my sadness :D We got really good designs for this event. All the waifus are beautiful and the UR looks fantastic (her sexy teacher skin is an instabuy for me as well). Royal Navy is my favorite faction and i'm so happy with this event :)

If you save and stick to dailies, you'll likely be able to earn enough cubes to pity NJ as well. Remember that we get 30 free pulls on lite reruns, and we'll likely get a cube event beforehand.
Like a sizeable other people I too had hoped the UR would be a vanguard instead of another carrier. But Implacable herself looks good so I will still roll for it. I am actually looking more forward to Royal Oak since HMS hasn't had any decent BB recently besides Vanguard and Scylla looks to be another Dido buffer kind of ship

Kinda meh on Implacable getting UR status. Though I admit her skin is fucking awesome. No L2D kinda sucks. Have to say the school skins all look really good. Especially the gray-haired girl (name escapes me at the moment. she's one of the Elites for the event). Also, is it just me, or does Scylla appear to be a bit..... yandere?
The skins have some real knockouts across the batch! Hmm, I could see some yandere in those eyes, but they could also just be gentle adoration... it'll depend on her other expressions/voicelines.
I'd aways do daily pulls on events to see how it goes. If you need to dip lower, then evaluate based on the number of cubes you can get for the rest of the month, and remember that NJ's rerun will come with 30+ free summons on it as well. If you have close to 400 cubes right now, you should be relatively safe for when NJ comes.
The ships are kinda interesting, but I'm not that interested in em : / Right now I feel like I'm just in a rut of collecting ships and not much else. I just need more super super difficult story content.
Hopefully the next event will be more interesting to you. I don't know if super difficult story content is the answer. Probably more diverse game modes that encourage fleet diversity would be more engaging. But who knows, they'll probably introduce more metaslave story content in the future.

It's weird how much the devs seem to either hate or ignore queen Elizabeth. Sure she's gotten a few skins and this meta version that I'm sure a few of her fans will be happy with. But she's still the only "leader" ship stuck in unplayable mode.

We have gotten an extra cubedrop event before Shinano, and of course there's a TON of free pulls with the NJ event. No need to hamper yourself for something that might take several months, allowing you to farm *all* the cubes ever needed for it...

Generally speaking, it's always worth doing daily pulls (at least 1 per day, up to 3) on new events. The game is so generous that once you have a decent reserve of cubes, you can get pretty much all ships F2P without a hitch. After event dailies, if you're still missing ships, that's when you have to decide. With the structure of the game, every event gets a rerun eventually, so depending on your priorities, it may be worth skipping splurging on the final day of an event.
I'm hoping it turned out to be one as the lack of such would be eyebrow raising.
Did you hear about the actual Hornet having an AL convention?
IIRC implacable was originally a French ship, doesn't explain the horns though.
I did actually get an invite to the Hornet AL Convention a while back from the organizers, but unfortunately won't be able to make it due to a conflict and the length of traveling. It looks like a really fun time, though!
I get FGO's Kiara Sessyoin vibes from Implacable - a sultry nun with a tendency towards sin. She's got horns in her late ascensions.

I try to be optimistic every UR event we get, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit disappointed in this one. We just got a Carrier, and I get this one is probably gonna have something unique about her that makes her good like most UR, but that was a little of a let down. Her design is nice, though the other ships seem a tad mediocre if I'm being honest. Another white haired maid to the roster doesn't really get me excited. The skins, with the exception of two seem a bit one note, and there's no L2D, but they did a ton of them the last UR event so I can understand some. I'll try to enjoy the event, but I guess I was just expecting a bit more.
Also, regardless of my personal opinion on events, it's always a joy to hear you get excited over it.
Totally valid to feel those disappointments. Since we're getting URs with a bit more regularity, the fanfare seems a little more subdued. Hopefully the next UR event satisfies your itch a bit more, but I hopefully you'll be able to enjoy whatever positive notes you can in the course of this one.
My Omnipotent Musashi have been waiting for NJ for a loooong time now. Thank god, I saved more than 700+ cubes for NJ, prolly gonna pull the new CV UR first.

Honestly, I have no idea, and I don't want to give you misinformation. I run both of them with those guns and they're both great. I think it'll depend partly on your fleet composition which overall performs better.

Probably Musashi? But it's not a good way to compare the ships since they have different team utility for other ships, both as part of the active fleet and not.

Skinwise Janus takes the cake, but since I have her L2D and having duplicate skins is very pointless in this game (Random skin when Manjuu?) it's a skip for now. Second best is again, Hero. Probably skipping and saving my gems though on this batch.

I have a feeling they're saving NJ for a racequeen this year. Lite reruns tend to be lite on skins as well, but we'll see.

I don't think they got into specifics. Usually we get a little downtime between events, like a week. We'll likely get the Daedalian Hymn rerun before NJ's too.

I love the designs of all the new ships, the last one didn't interest me though. For a second, when I saw Implacable's skin, I thought it was a secretary theme and I could feel wallet-kun start sweating. But the rest of the skins were student themed instead and so wallet-kun rested easy.
Man, everytime i see that Baltimore figure, I'm tempted to pull a KenKen and order multiple copies. She looks so good!

Yeah, it seems very much student/teacher themed. I think this batch is pretty appealing as far as the theming goes.

We got really good designs for this event. All the waifus are beautiful and the UR looks fantastic (her sexy teacher skin is an instabuy for me as well). Royal Navy is my favorite faction and i'm so happy with this event :)

If you save and stick to dailies, you'll likely be able to earn enough cubes to pity NJ as well. Remember that we get 30 free pulls on lite reruns, and we'll likely get a cube event beforehand.

Like a sizeable other people I too had hoped the UR would be a vanguard instead of another carrier. But Implacable herself looks good so I will still roll for it. I am actually looking more forward to Royal Oak since HMS hasn't had any decent BB recently besides Vanguard and Scylla looks to be another Dido buffer kind of ship

Kinda meh on Implacable getting UR status. Though I admit her skin is fucking awesome. No L2D kinda sucks. Have to say the school skins all look really good. Especially the gray-haired girl (name escapes me at the moment. she's one of the Elites for the event). Also, is it just me, or does Scylla appear to be a bit..... yandere?
The skins have some real knockouts across the batch!

Im Torn, New Jersey is still one of the Best BB and i want her.
One of the best, she’s not necessary if you have the other three (four if you include glitches)
I'd aways do daily pulls on events to see how it goes. If you need to dip lower, then evaluate based on the number of cubes you can get for the rest of the month, and remember that NJ's rerun will come with 30+ free summons on it as well. If you have close to 400 cubes right now, you should be relatively safe for when NJ comes.

Right now I feel like I'm just in a rut of collecting ships and not much else.
I just need more super super difficult story content.
Hopefully the next event will be more interesting to you. I don't know if super difficult story content is the answer. Probably more diverse game modes that encourage fleet diversity would be more engaging. But who knows, they'll probably introduce more metaslave story content in the future.

It's weird how much the devs seem to either hate or ignore queen Elizabeth. Sure she's gotten a few skins and this meta version that I'm sure a few of her fans will be happy with. But she's still the only "leader" ship stuck in unplayable mode.

Most ships can be used for 90% of the content in the game anyway, so I'd argue it doesn't really matter if they're outclassed. Favorites > stats/skills.
