Wow.....actually WOW 😲 absolutely fabulous onions Steve. You are a legend. Thanks for sharing how to pull and store them, especially lived your demonstration of your garlic plat, I'm going to try it with mine, although they are so so tiny compared to yours. Georgina is a very lucky lady, wish I had a plot next to yours too. Great vlog as always, thanks Steve. 😊
What a cracking video, I thought my Bedfordshire champions were a good size, but wow yours may mine look like pickling onions, great tips on lifting and how to plaiting garlic absolutely brilliant
Loved this Steve. You know, I'd never thought of onions bruising like fruit - of course now it makes sense. Great going on the shallots - we really must try them again this year. What are the white flowers in the onion bed - are they carrots? Loved the garlic plaiting - too late for me this year but really satisfying to see it come together like that - lucky Georgina!
Love your videos Steve. So informative! Thanks for sharing 👍. I have to say though, did you have to show those shallots? For once I thought I'd done well with something in the onion family and then I saw your monsters 😊
Hey Steve, great video on the storage side. My question is I grew 3 varieties of hardneck garlic in planted October 2021. Nice soil fresh compost covered with nice layer of straw for the winter in the spring the green shoots coming up I remove most of the hay. Watering and fertilizer every 2 week through the spring into the summer. I just harvested them this week. Every single bulb was smaller than the seed bulbs I started with. Do you think I did something wrong? This was a new bed first time used but lot of good soil and compost. Thank you for the video have a great weekend
Great result Steve. Is there a right time to start lifting the onions? I'm growing Kelsae for the first time but not sure when to harvest them. Regards Elaine
Beautiful shallots . I have grown them this year and they are a good size . I have also grown onions from seeds because the sets have always bolted. Do you feed your onions ? I did sprinkle some chicken manure, maybe that helped.

I'm still eating last years garlic. But, this year it wasn't brilliant, so it'll even out I suppose.
Its great they have keept so well Kath !...Steve...🙂
Great looking onions. Do you not let the tops fall over before harvesting?
Jeez, they’re huge! Mine are nowhere near that size!
Maincrop onions have bolted been so dry down south
Great crop of aliums, I've had the worst crop ever this year. Sets just wouldn't grow and seed onions have gone to seed 😢 never mind always next year
Normally a good year follows a bad, so fingers crossed for next year...Steve...🙂

Do shallots split in 2? I had something growing when I got my plot.they look like unions but split into 2 pieces
Will you please show us how to plat the onions 🧅
Can one plait both hardneck and soft neck garlics? 👍🪴🪴🤞
