I got my keys & got to be in my classroom!! Excited is an understatement!! I've been looking forward to this moment for so long, I always knew I wanted to start posting for my channel once I had my classroom, and HERE WE ARE! 🥹 I can't wait to share my journey with you, while I transform this space and make it perfect for my K/1 kiddos and I!

Oh my!! That’s such a late school year!! I was sooo antsy to get in my classroom 😅😅 I couldn’t relax even if I tried!
To prevent feeling overwhelmed, try to divide your classroom into quadrants. Work on one quadrant at a time. Invest in heavy-duty packing tape to place on the spines of the paperback books. Please ask your administrator if you have permission to use contact paper or use paint. Enjoy your first year. I just finished year 31 back in May. Why does your classroom have to be cute ? Ours were sparse. Empty walls except maybe a print of the queen or the Group of Seven?Oh right, I forgot. You have to entertain the kids. We were not there to be entertained.

It's important for me to have a classroom that feels like home, a place where me and my students feel the love I put into our learning space, and this might come to a surprise but you learn just as well in a cute space! (:
Goo Gone! works well. i just used again to clean off my students desks! :)
Except they told me they would be cleaning all the windows themselves so I didn’t even need to do all that work! 😅😅

SAME!!! It kind of sucks to barely have any wall space BUT I’ll take storage any day!!
The best goo remover for any sticky stuff is lemon oil! It smells great and it’s natural. (Test on wood though to make sure it doesn’t take off the finish of the wood)

Those desks are so cool and I wish I had your windows!
7th year teacher here and my advice for you is to just get your basics down and throughout the year you'll add so much since there will be deals, other teachers cleaning out/moving throughout the year. So don't sweat getting everything ready beforehand. Give your self a day to just work on the first 2 weeks of school if not more! :)

omg, I'm so glad you like them! I feel like they are so funky and giant soo I'm in the process of trying to love them haha && SOO true, I definitely want to make the room look cosy and welcoming but also leave plenty of room for 'through the year' stuff!

What does having a k/1 combo entail?? Are you teaching K content to the kinders & then 1st content to the 1st graders?? Or are they on the same level? Sorry, we don’t have that in my state!!😆 I’m curious !!
Because I have mostly 1st graders I will be teaching 100% first grade content but then scaffolding with kinder content for my kinder either before and after lessons! It's a unique experience forsure, I am still trying to figure out the best balance to make sure my students are successful!
You have some great opportunities for class jobs (straightening up the construction paper, paint organizer).
