Do people actually buy medals? We sometimes think the general masses of people do not realise how most medals are awarded for. Looking passes all the cover of 'glamor' 'bling' 'prestige' Military medals have a dark and ultra violent meaning.? They do not give them out for 'good civil behaviour any how that is for sure (as far as military medals go) If these actions where done in home life they would be serious crimes. Turns out some medals end up being a burden for many recipients in one way or another. Basically think if you had done some thing some regard as terrible in humanity. Yet when people see the piece of metal they give you a pat on the back and say well done. All the time in your head thinking I am not sure you would say that if you had been there to see it and certainly not if I did what I did to you. Also there is the system where a one must go to get a 'medal' for one there must be witnesses so there must be litrally millions who deserve one but are not around to receive it. Another fact is that medals seem to be awarded at times of need say moral needs lifting or to much over kill has been going on there are thousands of reasons why a medal may or may not be awarded it just depends what is going on in general overhaul at the time. Really there is a very dark side to medals? Im sure there are thousands and thousands of people who would do anything to go back in time and change certain circumstances but they cannot and that pice of metal is a reminder of that?

So if I got awarded the George Cross for disarming 9 IEDs in a day to save lives in a civil setting, it'd be a violent crime? If I protected by my mates by jumping onto a grenade and was awarded a Conspicuous Gallantry Cross, it'd have a dark and ultra violent meaning?
