1 width maus is meta
That’s possible?
@@Unsold_smoothie7 probably
@@Unsold_smoothie7 Yeah, SH Tank TD/AA
Ah yes the popular maus meta
Devs patched it :(
Started doing 21w, after being out of the loop since NSB, because those were the templates my puppets were making in a mod. So I put my trust in that template.
Yeah the standard 3x3 infantry + artillery and engineer support is also pretty good line fodder. Slap some more arty on it and you got yourself some good divisions
"will perfectly fit in jungle" the most used terrain
And forests. Europe is filled with forests
hermangrinden1283 Plains too
@@VSMSusi I don’t understand what you’re asking? What do you mean by 'plains?' Are you asking for what support companies that are good for plains? Or are you saying that Europe has a lot of plains? Or something else?
@@hermangrinden1283he's suggesting plains are the most popular. Idk if he's right
As France or UK you need to hold and push in plains and desert mostly so no joy I think
Adding support rocket arty is cheaper than a norma battalion and with right right superior might even give more soft attack
rocket arty is better in the late game
@@theoheinrich529especially rocket arty trucks because once you unlock them you never production efficiency for new variants
I literally had no idea this was even meta. It was just aesthetically pleasing how many slots they filled up.
I honestly couldn't care less how large my infantry divisions are, as long as they work I'm good.
I just put whatever on my infantry and pray that it will work.
Noobs hoi4ers here. Always have a plan for your divisions
@@drox3992 In multiplayer or in really difficult situations/challenges yes, however for your generic infantry the ai is so shit it doesn't matter. I do plan for almost every other division.
@@DarthVader19556 I still do that even tho i have 2000 hours of playtime.
@@drox3992 "What do you mean you don't use 40 width infantry and actually have fun?"
As someone who took Warsaw then get pushed back to Poznan and then took Paris then got pushed back to Brussels I can confirm I have no idea why I'm here.
Lmfao same
Me failing tk backstab the Japan's as Manchuria. ALWAYS Forget the naval landings lol.
I'll still just use 4 armies of 40 width divisions and win
Alway enjoy seeing the entire enemy army melt when my 20km/h tank divisions break trough and overrun them.
Why the fuck is rocket artillery so expensive?
IRL one of the reasons the Soviets preferred them is that they were much cheaper to produce than Howitzers.
Elon Musk!
More expensive ? Last time I checked they cost like 20% more or something, but as a major, you can afford to not care the higher price
The game is not entirely realistic. If it was, you´d need hard attack to get through fortifications, and normal field howitzers would have a lot of hard attack (as they can be quite devastating against tanks).
20w are working really well, I normally put support engineers,AA and support arty in them, also rockets in the late game and they work really well against the AI
Nuking your enemy until you make a new fallout game:
9-3 is my go to if I go pure infantry
This
Why i see more work of hoi team in shorts more than in game😭
They get youtubers to make shorts for them
i literally use 9 infantry, 1 engineer, 1 support artillery, 1 support aa and (maybe) support at depending on the country im playing. it isnt worth putting a bunch of artillery in infantry, its better to just make tanks and make encirclements that way
Sure. But I don't want to micro every front so I'm going to use line Artillery and battle plan the ones I don't want to micro. If you're a major you have more than enough IC to do that. Generally if you have the IC for tanks you also have the IC for line arty in half your infantry.
I have noticed that when I play with 7/2s the initial shock of the enemy attack is worse but they become exhausted and stop attacking much faster than if I use 9/1. I think because the extra artillery makes them deorg faster and does more strength damage. Then start encircling them with tanks
can we add a flagbearer support company that does nothing but when you zoom in on a battle with a template that has it, it will play the national anthem of the country
holy chet, thats genius
Band members are usually doubled up as stretcher bearers
50 infantry wd for the win
you play communist china?
Im kinda new. Does changing a division template change those divisions already on the field?
No. To do that you need to highlight a division or the General (the portrait on the bottom of screen). You then find the 'change division template' button that looks like 2 green arrows. That button will be at the top left next to your nation flag.
The reply to you misunderstood your question.
The answer is
@@flameguy3416 He was referring editing a template that is already in use in the field. Which the answer is yes. If I add on 2 more tanks onto my current fielded tank divisions, those divisions will be updated too and now require a shipment of equipment.
What's most important: other than fitting perfectly into forest and jungle, it fits pretty well into most other terrain types so the penalties won't be too bad.
Also great are multiples of 12
Im personally using 22 width like a 8/2 for the reason that i think most or the most tiles im personally fighting in Europe are 90 combat width
No paratroopers? *insert megamind meme here plz*
Light flame tanks add w/rockets. It works great for a specialized unit.
I almost always use cheap low width infantry with high width tanks
If you use 9-1's late game to attack anything you are just going to lose manpower. These are cheap and decent line infantry divisions meant for defence. Always use large width (30 or higher) on tanks or artillery when attacking. Larger divisions have more HP which means that you take less manpower and equipment losses at the cost of worse combat width/reinforce rate compared to smaller 21 width divs.
If you're having manpower issues late game it's because you played badly
No, 10w 2 doctrine will fuck it
Nah
10w bro even the wind is breaking through these divisions
Day 1 asking for devs vs popular HOI4 Content creators in Commanders in Conflict tournament
The devs are comically bad at this game.
Ever since NSB I don’t use tanks I just have infantry that are decent at attacking but will never loose at defending as long as they are supplied and I let people bash their heads against the line and when I see an opening i exploit it
solid video loop ngl
He has a lot to learn indeed
Honestly ill just stick to 14-4's i like them the most for defense since they have HUGE soft attack
I use 9 infantry battalions, 2 anti air battalions, 2 artillery battalions and 2 heavy tank/spg battalions, and anti tank and maintenance companies. Damn the industrial cost, I like having big divisions
meta is mixed armies, some 18, some 10, some 21, some 23 w/SPA
20 width with rocket and arty support.
If only mortar companies were a thing
Infantry equipment includes mortars
18wBRICK w/expensive tanks
meta this meta that, have you ever meta girl before?
Now the meta is 10 widths
Tbh i only made like infantry all the time but the enemy ai just kept spamming troops in so i installed a mod wich made them only use strong troops instead of many and i make tanks to swipe them away.
10 inf
1 arty
1 AT/arty depending of tank concentration of enemy
i uses 9 infantry/1 arty/1 middle(or light) tank at major nations. they give TONS of soft/hard attack at same time.
as an og hoi4 player who never used 40wth infantry i think 7/2 is meta
(change my mind)
How can i merge Artillery with infantry
I use the default template 🗿
Based
How about 10, 1 divs? 10 Infantry 1 Arty and 22w are those acceptable?
As long as the width is between 10 and 45 you will be fine to be more exact:
Divisions between like 15 to 25 width are acceptable for holding, less than 15 is only for division witch are not actively fighting (like port guards), and more than 25 up to 45 are good for pushing.
So the 22w division u'r doing is ok
@@jurunbeio What wwould be an Ideal Tank divison Template with Heavy Tanks and Mechanized? I am using diffrent ones and they seem to be working but i want a effective one. You got any ideas?
@@thesamuraimemelord3581 I typically go 10 Tanks 10/11 mech for 40/42 width, or 7 tanks, 3 sp, and 10 mech for 42 width. Depends on your industry and if you want more soft. this works for mediums or heavies.
9/2 or 9/1 is what i try to use as minors for doing offensives
9 inf for just filling gaps and generic
Unless i'm playing big majors or get a big enough industry... in which case I end up doing mixing infantry with artillery with mechanized and a medium tank or a bunch of artillery tanks.
idk why but I enjoy mix matching types of units together, not because it's op, but because i just find it stupid enough to be fun and casually broken
I just go 15 width 6-1 for my inf wall, then tanks for small pushes
I used to use 40 width divisions but maybe I might change to 20 width, they have more organization
40with for life
Huge missed opportunity to put "what's 9+10" mene
What about the 9 infantry + 1 artillery + support artillery + support shovel? That thing is still "good"?
15 width >
Line arty is trash altogether anyway except in the early game (until 1939)
12 width pure inf with arty and rocket support + whatever support you need is the way forward
try 20 width motorized with sapers, armored vehicle recon and field hospital
field hospitals essentialy reduce manpower lost by division when fighting (when it´s not overrun. To be perfectly honest they still need big buff (the only nation that you can argue that can use them effectively is Switzereland and that´s because of By Blood Alone DLC focus tree if you rush). Recon is completely underperforming because it very slightly increases chance of choosing better tactic (mainly in defense), however in offense it´s way way worse ( for both offence and defense around 1,3% chance) @@Kingslayer_AoC
“Aren’t plains the most common” yeah but trucks and tanks are in the game for a reason buddy
The analysis of why this division works i quite lacking
Different tiles have different combat widths and you want to prevent overstacking the combat width because it gives a massive stat debuff. Some people have done the math and calculated the best combat widths for a combination of tiles and found that 15 21 27 42 have the least amount of overstacking on average on all types of tiles.
+1 small tank can provide more defense
I prefer 40 width infantry,mot,tanks
Vietnam, here I come!
16/1
"New" meta.
How about 10w full infantry with Engineers, Sup Artillery, Sup AA, Sup Rocket Artillery, on Superior Firepower R/R these days?
"meta"
look inside
Line artillery
15 works good for me
Idk why but having the artillery off to the side instead of just filling out the first two columns looks weird
Boutta boost
Its funny, ive been doing 21 widths for over a year before NSB....
ok why os no one talking about why the footage is of Germany fighting Luxembourg
One horse boi carry me when i play as romania balkan domination (to do focus tree you need man in field)
I do avoid more rhan 18-19 width
I love 21 and lategame i try to habe Them with two Artillery . Also i dont have a focus on tanks, so often i Make a few of them 27 with 4 artillery / motoriz them .
25 width is king
Is 3 3 3 infantry and then 2 artillery good?
Just put like 1 width infantry
Heavy crusers still solo
10w infantry with no support companies as soviets , spam cas
How do you calculate how much can fit each biome or region type?
Each biome has a different combat width, which you can see by clicking on the province. In battle your army tries to use the number of divisions that result in a combat width closest to the max. Going over it gives a small penalty depending on how much its going over, but I believe in new updates its not that bad.
reported for loop
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT THE META HE DIED!!!!!!!!!
I'm still using 27 and 42 width templates.
How the hell do you even supply 42 width? I'm genuinely curious because as Germany invading USSR, 30 width feels the absolute maximum without everyone starving to death all the time
@@sgtburden8482air supply
You said metr like a re***d
I just make everything 30w
I normally just make it small like 12 and just stack bunch a lot of them.
Yep I’ve used 12’s with great effect.
Why is rocket artillery so slow
Hehe 7/2 go brrrr
Please make a mobile version
Best meta is cheap light tank meta
Who uses 1 arty in their 21s 😂
A lot of people?
Is literally the most used template
21 width looks 🤮 because of how asymmetric it is
Can you fix the AI...
Worse because less soft
I wanna buy hoi4 but it looks so complicated
It kinda is but it isn't to bad, the game also teaches you how to play it
You’ll spend a month just learning how to build a division, i have 500 hours and have only conquered the everyone once
@@ghettobootylover4094 i bought the game only for the sole purpose of making Mexico op af with the focus tree, realized it was dlc content, then I abandoned the game
You can learn the game in 5-10 hours while having fun. It’s really just about copying real life WW2 tactics unless you play MP.
ah yes belgium conquering the world very much what happened irl
I dont know about this one
9-3 or nothing at all
Its dead, again
False...
I usually use 40 width divisions.
No, 20 width is still pretty good. Also, using 2 arty instead of 1 is a huge difference on the battlefield
Are you really yapping to a developer?
@@ahjahhadiadkahduawhndlijka1767 he’s right though
I use 9/3/3 (9 inf/3 art/3 aa) with full support (art, aa, engineers, logistics and mechanics) and full CAS support. I once tried a motorised build of this and it went a bit too well.
bro what countries do u play???
also do u not use any fighters? if u dont then ur cas will all die in a couple months
@kliwenad2430 Not that much. Only if I can't outproduce the losses. If I can, then who cares if some of them get shot down. I already hate the air and navy aspects of this game, so don't blame me for trying to ignore it as much as possible. I was thinking of making a "No Air Mod". Removes every air research, deployed airplane and stocked airplane. Nukes may not be dropped by the AI, only players just by clicking the button. I hate air because it requires more than 2 neurons for brain activation. My 2 neurons are already focused on gameplay and schizophrenia lore (I mostly play mods).
@@iGamezRoair is literally working like this: build as many planes as possible, shove them all into bordering regions, watch the green bubbles. P.S. Navy is the same thing.
Day 1 of mewing 🤫🧏♂️
I prefer 27width
