The first-generation Vauxhall Insignia dates back to 2009, but a mid-life facelift in 2013 ironed out some of its kinks and gave it a new edge.
This Insignia Sports Tourer is aimed at those who want added practicality over the hatch model. It also offers the same motorway-focussed personality, meaning it goes up against the likes of the Ford Mondeo and Volkswagen Passat.
We take it out on the road to put it to the test.
Can the Insignia really tackle models like the Ford Mondeo? Watch our video review above to find out, or skip to bits of key information using the links below:

I've just bought the sports tourer after driving a mondeo saloon for the last year odd , the mondeo like the tourer has good spec and is quieter when it comes to road noise etc but the insignia is a much nicer place to be and I look forward to going out in it.

Also on my door mirror switch it has the little powerfold symbol but the mirrors dont fold even when I've selected the dot in between the left and right positions, am i missing something?

I have a 2010 sportswagon . 111000 kilometers on the clock, 67000+ miles approximate, I found your mention of mpg interesting, mine does about 30 mpg, just drive in normal, auto box I should mention, pottering about, through town, 8 or 9 liters per 100 kilometers, I get fobbed off by the Opel dealer, it's the way I drive, is the usual remark, I've had the car for 3 1/2 years, I'm resigned to the fact that the stated recommended mpg is absolute rubbish,
    Kind regards, Terence John Molloy,

If you're just pottering around town I doubt the engine has really had a chance to warm up ,short journeys + cold starts will be using a lot of fuel add to that you won't be going fast enough to receive best fuel economy

Jamie Pickles Been to my local ford dealer to have a look at the new mondeo and while the exterior looks stunning the interior is "low rent" with lots of cheap plastic areas and the A-pillar section didn't look like it was properly fitted. Personally i think you'd be better off negotiating a bigger discount on an Insignia or Avensis (in my opinion).
