Can I paint any metal? I know they sell some at this bead shop but im not sure if I do use patina if it will come off? Do I need anything before adding patina or after like seal?!
+flyhigh513 Thank you for your interest in Vintaj! Our Patinas were specially formulated to adhere to metal. They are permanent on natural metals, and also can be applied to other metals and different surfaces as well like leather, wood, wrought iron... However if the metal is plated with any kind of lacquer or coating you may want to sand the surface first so they adhere better. Always be sure to apply the patina with a dry brush. If the brush is wet or the patina is diluted with water it will not adhere. You can add layers of color, but the thinner the layer the better. Sealing the patina is not necessary, however you can add it for extra durability. We have our original Glaze in a satin/semi-gloss finish, or our matte finish as well. Hope this helps! ~ Jess
Hi! Yes, you can use our Patinas to color plastic glass frames. We recently just painted a phone case and guitar, the patinas work on a variety of surfaces and look great! I would suggest applying the patina colors with a dry brush. You can add layers and blend colors until you get the look you like. When the patina is completely dry, use a dry brush to apply a thin layer of glaze or matte glaze to seal the patina. I suggest sealing it because you are working with a smooth surface. Be careful not to get patina on the lens ;) Have fun!
I dab them on with a fine paint brush on polymer clay!!!
Beautiful!
Thank you!!
Does this stuff work on silver?
i have a brac that has nice design, its silver and wonder which would be better using articylic paint or the vintaj patina in a turq color??
I would like to know how thickly can I apply it? And how thickly can I apply the gloss? What are the best practices regarding thickness? Thank you.

Will the patinas work, permanently, on other non-porous surfaces, eg. dominoes?
why isn't the maker of this product answering these questions?
@@cynthiamccusker3574they rarely do and you are left to find for yourself unfortunately. Very bad business practices.
