    I personaly know 2 people who brought that package. So what? Both have more money to spare then most of us. I dont care, i dont envy their wealth and for the game I support and I like very much, those people are very much needed. My brother is not one of those 2 whales but an early SC player and he brought 4 basepacks, for him, his wife and his 2012 born twins. seeing the game evolving faster and faster lately is awsome and he has a blast flying around in a middle size ship, doing a live family roleplay event whenever they play together. Its a joy to participate and withnessing them living thou all the ups and downs in their very own Han Solo, princess Leia and their two wookies adventure.

    Can't believe the existence of that $48 package has so many people butthurt.
    A: as said in the video, it takes $45 to play, period.
    B: nobody is forcing anyone to buy any high-end package, period.
    C: every business with a thing to sell will ALWAYS have a top-end product line of some type available.
    D: if the $48k package's purpose is just greed, then why are the sales of that package not zero?
    They offered something that some backers wanted, and those backers have bought it. Cry more about how other people spend their own damn money.

      The tail end of my video says it all for me. Everyone is always worried about what someone else is spending their money on. I happen to love fancy watches, yet I do not spend thousands on one. I know what my budget is and I am not butt hurt over those who decide to spend more money than me. Thanks for the comment!

    After more than 20 years of experience in gaming I can say that for myself the leveling in game is huge part of overall enjoyment of that title. Game like SC deserves to be played to the fullest rather than letting your ego ruin it for you by rushing to power.

      Yep. My first Cutlass Black was one I earned up to and that was a great feeling! I only started buying more ships once my channel made money which I then have put back into either the game or better equipment.

    The game is very clearly pay to win, people have decided to call it something else like for for advantage because some game these days are much more blatant about their P2W... imagine WOW or any MMO coming out with a system day 1 to be max level as soon as the game goes live for your guild to then go out and claim land/resources.
    Like paying irl money to lock others out of the best resources or best locations day 1... SC land claims "but the universe is so big" isn't an excuse.
    dictionary definition of pay to win
    "Noun. pay to win (uncountable) (video games) The ability and/or practice of exchanging real-world currency for an in-game benefit."
    ""Pay-to-win" or "P2W", is a pejorative term for a game that offers any advantage that can be obtained *FASTER* or exclusively via commercial transactions over gameplay rewards"

      the insurance system is not implimented yet, but later if the game goes in its final state it will be work for the ships to reclaim them after they get fully destroyed. like after the soft death of the ships comes the hard death explode. cig want to sell all ships only ingame one day. so the insurence make sense but i dont know how it will work finaly. hope i could help a bit with the question so far. maybe some one can explain this a bit deeper and better for you. i wish you a good flight (^.^)7

      Everything said by Lyzerk is correct, but I need to add that in 1.0, you will be able to buy insurance in-game with in-game money(NOT REAL MONEY). After 1.0, you log into the game, pull up your Mobiglass(i.e., email), and see an insurance bill from Stanton Insurance Company. You pay the 5,000 credits, and you're done. The bigger the ship, the bigger the insurance bill.
      The part of the video about buying big ships is "pay to win." I have to vehemently disagree. As the pre-build stands, you can theoretically fly a big ship solo. But that is coming to a dead stop. CIG is implementing engineering, which means you need a crew of honest people to crew all the different stations of a big ship for it to reach its true potential. If a whale buys a giant boat and tries to fly solo, they will get slapped by a smaller, fully crewed ship. I make a habit of killing bigger whale ships all the time. Sometimes, I don't even have to shoot them. Just sneak on board, hide in their bed, and wait till they fly out of the armistice zone.

    Another great effort , honest narrative. To be the devil advocate as these fresh spawns are shot down with their packages by another lighting? Odd cause the meta fighter in vacuum is light fights , that thickkey is not. My point : As Long as SKILL is the first factor , it is pay for advantage , pay for head start , pay for steering game development toward late game org events . As long as skill, 1. Basic competency 2. Social minimums 3. Fine specialities 4. Coordinated assaults . Because why own a gladius , if learning from a titan , 3k - 20 k 12 mins is crawling to that 1.1 million. Then after all the flight and fighting , they’re ready know how to take that gladius into space and never die, unless trying to score the final bullseye.

    New people looking into SC, if you CAN NOT handle being killed in game for NO REASON this is not the game for you. people want to maim and kill, they do not need a reason to attack you. Griefing is only if a specific player or specific group hunts you repeatedly. PVP is not greifing at its core.

    • @alexanderdooley5833
      @alexanderdooley5833 Рік тому

      AND, if you go to where the pirates are they will kill you over and over again.... that is also not grieifng if you go there intentionally.

    But when I think back to my start a little over a year ago, the most frustrating thing was the (human) pirates and griefers. But at some point you get used to the A-holes and still have fun.

    @MrCjspeedy1981 Рік тому +1

    There's a couple of errors in your video but they don't really detract from the overall message that you're making, however I'll comment on a couple of things.
    Q3. No, in no way is it pay to win. It is and can be considered, pay to advance. The reason that distinction is important is because if you are a new player in your stater ship, going against a fully crewed Hammer Head for example, yea the new player will loose that fight, but as you say there is nothing stopping you from earning a HH yourself as the newbie.
    To go a step further, if you have well versed friends as a newbie, you can join the verse and jump in your friends HH within your first 10mins of booting up the game, those 10min being getting there. Knowing what to do aside the point I'm making is everything is available and not gated by some form of gated progression, like leveling.
    On the flip side, if you by SC with your tiny starter ship, and you also buy the HH and you go out into the verse in your HH on your own and come up against a single player in their fighter (other tiny ship). You in your new shiny HH are not going to win that fight because you need a crew for the HH.
    So it's really "pay to advance" than "pay to win" because ultimately, you can spemd a stupid amount of money and without crew &/or skill, its not guaranteed a win.
    The only other thing I will say is about the $48000 package. Simply put, when you pledge, it's simply a donation. A donation to help get the game to completion with various options available based on the amount you want to contribute and as a thanks CIG give you a ship/package. There are new options constantly available, but I think its unfair to state that new options have incentives with them. Any game breaking buff, gets ironed out on a ship and the only real 2 advantages of buying one are, it's bound to your account and if you pledge early enough, it can be cheaper than when it's released into the game.
    Yet when it is in game, it is STILL earnable.
    All my shit aside, great video.

    • @CasaBLACK
      @CasaBLACK  Рік тому +1

      I appreciate it. My pay to win statement is more the book definition and also includes the fact that you can be fully geared with whatever the best FPS weapon is as well, which until we get better armor or crafted armor/reputation based better gear in the game is considered by some to be pay to win just because you can literally buy the armor, go out to do missions and be the geared you can be in the game. As far as ships go I completely agree, it boils down to skill, but I also wanted to make a concession to say, yeah I can see how some people believe this can be Pay to Win, even though I do not put it in the same exact camp. Hopefully CIG sticks to this and allows us to earn better ship parts/weapons, armor etc without also allowing players to buy them with real money. Thank you for taking the time to offer up your opinion. :)
