Playing only heavily played cards doesn't trigger me in the slightest. Those cards have lived a good life, and have found a good home in which they're unlikely to be swapped out.
Folks also don't realize (why would they, unless they knew him) that he orders them from stores HP / damaged already. He's giving these cards a home until they fall apart. He's not taking pack fresh ones and intentionally damaging them. It's a small difference, but it matters.
Scott with his Morophon deck is just my favorite guest player! It reminds me of your Mistform Ultimus deck, and I pretty much love watching tribal decks, you guys have some nice matches!
@@adameister5883 As someone who plays Winota with intentionally 0 stax human/non-human creatures, and just focus on an aggro/token spam strategy, I totally get wanting to build a deck to the lvl your table plays and not just go all out on every deck just cause you can.
Not usually sleeves are totally up to you but I'd start to have a problem with it when there are some kind of markings on the back of the card like in 3:06 just seems like an advantage at that point
How about that Maskwood Nexus with the back separating from the front? If people don't want to respect their own property, that's fine, I guess; however, heavily damaged cards are considered marked and I would certainly tell them to remove them from their deck.

It’s casual why do you care? If you have a friend who plays with accidentally marked cards, then just trust him that he won’t use this advantage. EDH is a format where we allow rewind, change targets of spells in the middle of the resolution, don’t track well life totals and so on… it’s pure casual.
I think the tables turned when Villis showed up hahaha. (although the Heliod's intervention might have bought him some time as well) That 'monster' is such a 'beast'. In my meta, when I play Villis it is usually game for the rest if they are not able to remove it within one cycle. I wonder if Piru the Volatile would be a decent include in Licia. I have always wanted to do something with Licia, and maybe I'll go for a big beater life link route or something.
I'd like to petition for Scott to play his lands in front while playing that Morophon deck. Just for that little extra triggering. Also, Muddstah, I'd recommend trying out Reki as the commander in place of Kolvori if you are unhappy with her performance. I think his ceiling is a bit higher as he can draw you a lot of cards off of your legends.

Its nice to see someone still doing that shuffle to this day. Cause for some a card holds no value. Just cherish the memory the game gives thats the real value in my oppinion.
@@oscher88 Valakut is probably my favorite land ever printed. I have a Jund EDH deck where all of the win conditions are Valakut type effects. Ob Nixilis, Valakut, Vesuva, Thespian Stage, Dread Presence and using Prismatic Omen and Dryad to help it go off with Scapeshift.
Chandra's ignition says "target creature deals damage to every other creature" If the creature being target has lifeline, than that will trigger everytime it deals damage to other creatures
People who flinched at Scott need to re-examine their lives. It's expensive cardboard. "But the resale value!" But nothing, you'll keep it until it's worthless nerd - same as me 😂
Oof, I definitely winced at that opening, but his cards, his rules. My only concern is the technical one: marking. I'll happily play damaged cards, but never unsleeved because they could potentially be identified.
Under normal circumstances, I'd be 100% there with you on markings. Thankfully this is just some friends sitting around the table and having a laugh, so we were all good.
Anymore, I tend to mulligan until I had at least 3 lands. Luck seems to never be on my side when I risk the "maybe I'll be ok with just two lands" hand. 🤦♂
@@AlexOvTheAbyss I'm always on the fence of "having enough lands and no early game" and "having no lands at all" when mulliganing. I've been always going with more lands cause no game can happen without em, and then you hope not to die until you draw your other stuff

Having less lands, by the time I actually drew some to start casting spells, everyone else was already established, so I was just behind the entire game then dead.

The list, as it stood for this game, had no ways to just tutor up a win. It's a toolbox deck, intentionally avoiding omen/curio combos.

Deck thinning and consistency. If you have plenty of lands fetches decrease the likelihood you draw into more lands.... in theory.
