A friend linked me this band, because I am a huge fan of Gavin Harrison's. This band just completely blows me away. I love finding bands like this, I get hooked on their music and can't stop listening. The darkness of this track is amazing...for the lack of a better word. haha.
What a team this was! What a song! For me, this was like planets aligning...Moore, Gavin, Matheos, with Akerfeldt hanging around...and Blood is my favorite song on the album, God is a man, he understands.
We've got what we want, ask anyone But war is still war, it's medicine The wind's at our back when we attack 'Cause God is our man, he understands The heart, the heart it beats for blood Some of the best lyrics ever written
You got what we want, ask anyone.. But war is still war - its medicine. The winds at our back, when we attack. Cause god is our man, he understands.. The heart - The heart - it beats for blood... The heart - The heart - it beats for blood... Amazing song.. Everything Matheos touches is gold!
This fucking song..and Gavin Harrision's drumming. There is a reason that this song has absolutely no dislikes. I would hate to be the person who would dislike something like this.
I originally followed OSI for the Portnoy factor, but I must admit that Gavin Harrison adds some nice flavor to this album, and the tone of his kit and snare are awesome too! That said I think Blood is their best work, but "New Math" is still my favorite tune. One final note: They should hire Mikael Åkerfeldt full-time for vox...His voice is awesome!
We got what we want, ask anyone. But war is still war. It's medicine. The wind's at our back when we'll attack. 'Cause God is our man, he understands: the heart. The heart - it beats for blood.
@m3bmuadib Great news. I can't really express how much I enjoy this song....the ambience, combined with the heaviness of the drum track and the intermittent guitar, along with the cryptic and awesome vocals of kevin moore....easily one of their best efforts
Yeah OSI are unique, I've never heard a prog band that mix elements of Industrial with Prog. OSI sound like a hybrid of Nine Inch Nails and Porcupine Tree.
@BigCanOfBeans Oh, and since you're new...Mike Portnoy played drums on the debut album as well as the "Free" album, but Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree replaced him on this album (Blood), and is currently in studio for OSI4 which should be released around August 2011. Welcome to the big leagues. :)
Guys, good news: OSI is currently working on their fourth album and Metal Blade debut for a late 2010 release. Also, the have signed with metal blade records. Source, fateswarning info see you,
KM was maybe also the most important composer in DT during his period with them. He made a Change of season too, even if he left before that song was published
there 4th album fire make thunder will be out march 27th check out the preview sampler on OSI BAND .COM its un f*ckin real, the anticipating is killing me. have been listening to them since their inception the culmination of my favorite musicians. this song is so ethereal but what else can u expect from jim matheos, kevin moore & gavin harrison, i'm the biggest fates warning junkie out here, love chroma key and dream theater plus been into porcupine tree the sickest infusion
@supercj8899 Petrucci and Moore were primary lyricists on Images and Awake, leaning slightly towards Petrucci in number of credits. Between Images and Systematic Chaos, which is the last DT album I own, LaBrie averages one writing credit per album, less than Myung even. Through their entire history, probably 60% of all lyrics have been written by Petrucci, 30% by Portnoy, the rest by Myung, Moore, and LaBrie.
After buying second album,I was always imagine how Gavin Harrison and his sound of drums wil be perfect for this band. And now I have it....
This song alone is worth the price of the album.
AYE
This and "The Escape Artist" too...
Some of the best and most inovative rock I've heard for years.
Blood is bloody good.

Keyboards on here are stunning obviously, but I can't get over how good the staccato/choppy guitar effect sound is on here. SO GOOD. Jim you beast
Always love this song...so mature...a classic of all time and a perfect song for a John Wick movie
What a team this was! What a song! For me, this was like planets aligning...Moore, Gavin, Matheos, with Akerfeldt hanging around...and Blood is my favorite song on the album, God is a man, he understands.
@peter gYeah, that's how i heard it the first time and I'm sticking to it! :-) (But you are right)
I love this song.... I love all the songs in the album but this is something else.... Excellent.
Amen, sister😎❤
One of the greatest songs on this planet
We've got what we want, ask anyone
But war is still war, it's medicine
The wind's at our back when we attack
'Cause God is our man, he understands
The heart, the heart it beats for blood
Some of the best lyrics ever written
definitely agree, gives me chills every time I listen to it
Gavin's footwork is killer.
The syncopation at 4:41-4:42 is fucking perfect!

Amazing song.. Everything Matheos touches is gold!
Really cool atmosphere on this one. Love the rhythms and groove.
And this, folks, is why Kevin Moore is the greatest musician alive.
I love the sound in this song... everything is as clean as it should be!
3rd song i clicked from this band...and it goes better and better! now TOOL has to share the crown ; )
Masakra!!!!!!! Kocham od lat to nagranie!!!! Szkoda że grupa milczy.....EXTRA👍👍👍👍👍
been listening to this solidly since it came out and the intro to this track still gives me chills.
First time hearing this (though I've heard one track from this record before). Beyond fantastic.
One of the best prog album ever. For me, this album is the second part of Disconected, but in the OSI way... Thank you guys.
indeed, alot of Kevins stuff is dark, even while in DT, that's why I love him
Damn this album is now 10 years old .
been waiting along time for another OSI..awesome!!
This fucking song..and Gavin Harrision's drumming. There is a reason that this song has absolutely no dislikes. I would hate to be the person who would dislike something like this.
My personal favorite on the new album!OSI are getting better and better with every next release!
I have no words, totally amazing. Now I am in real world.
I originally followed OSI for the Portnoy factor, but I must admit that Gavin Harrison adds some nice flavor to this album, and the tone of his kit and snare are awesome too! That said I think Blood is their best work, but "New Math" is still my favorite tune.

Please recommend masterpieces like this to me
Kareem Shams ok soen fan (y)🤘
All of OSI's albums
Lunatic Soul - Walking on a flashlight beam (any song from that album)
We got what we want, ask anyone. But war is still war. It's medicine. The wind's at our back when we'll attack. 'Cause God is our man, he understands: the heart. The heart - it beats for blood.

thanks for helping me find this epic music claw.
OSI is the greatest Progressive, Industrial Metal band you never heard of.

@@nu-metalfan2654 I'm a huge fan of both bands. I never thought of that, but I think you're right 🙂.

@BigCanOfBeans yeah KM was the keyboardist and main lyricist on Images, Awake, WDADU, and helped write ACOS
this is like the best song ever
The little booklet that Kscope gives with their albums is a fucking gold mine
2:56 OH man. This is so intense, I can't even describe.
Awesome song. awesome album. fantastic production, could be the best I've heard :-)
@BigCanOfBeans Oh, and since you're new...Mike Portnoy played drums on the debut album as well as the "Free" album, but Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree replaced him on this album (Blood), and is currently in studio for OSI4 which should be released around August 2011.

This band is simply terrific, thanks to last.fm,else i'd never know of this project. So intense and dark.
@Iakyaa I wouldn't say he was the MAIN lyricist, but he definitely contributed a lot.
Guys, good news:
OSI is currently working on their fourth album and Metal Blade debut for a late 2010 release. Also, the have signed with metal blade records. Source, fateswarning info
see you,
absolutely exceptional song.
Blood, one of osi best tracks!!
This song is deep.
metroid prime vibes, I love this.
Love this song
Here because spottily no longer lists it for some reason.
I would not go THAT far but I love the man, too...
When Kevin Moore left Dream Theater, the magic left Dream Theater as well.
this song owns
Can't get enough, fawesome!!!
KM was maybe also the most important composer in DT during his period with them. He made a Change of season too, even if he left before that song was published
fantastic
@Iakyaa Kevin's leave was DT's death for me, I liked some of FII but with ruddess things went definitely to shit. Kevin is indeed a genius.
@supercj8899 James Labrie didnt write lyrics for any of those albums. Lyricists write lyrics, singer/vocalists sing the songs.
i kind a lost intererst in dream theater after kevin left, he seems to be doing good with osi though.
New album soon!!!!!!!!!
seismic song beloved by our neighbourhood ;)
Yes!
Agreed mate! Agreed. Best musical influence on me as keyboard, along with lyle mays lol.

@saajingrey NEW OSI...hellz yeah!!!
There will be blood.
gavin harrison is great on this.
Best prog drummer.
this would fit to Resident Evil soundtrack :) kind of reminds me of Manson's Resident Evil theme
Hem!! me encanta!! 😃
Isn't Kevin the one singing in Space dye Vest?
LaBrie is, but there is a demo version with Kevin singing
the underground bass thing key board whatever thing. i want it.
@MyMytalMajesty
A Change of Seasons
@Miseryality no. Gavin Harrison
Great foot.
Love the Horse Breeding related video. UA-cam is once again right on spot... Not.

You remind me of that guy on fb that ate raw chicken, and when he was told to get salmonella from it, replied: "I ate chicken, not salmon."
