Hi guys! Thanks for tuning in... Short one today! I'm back at the 1960 Chevy Impala, and I'm trying to make a decent trunk lid using the back of the frame of the 4-door trunk lid to repair the inner structure of the coupe trunk lid... Definitely not a small job, but kind of a fun way to save some real rusty junk...Cheers! Thanks to everyone who ordered a 2025 Coldwarmotors calendar! They are printed now and we'll have them in the mail ASAP! Thanks to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments!

Time for some #MetalMastery... with a Mad Scientist! You're not trying to save the world, Scott, just your corner of it is good enough for me. I'm going to have to binge watch this weekend, this week has kinda been a 💩 type of week for me. So, say "Hi" to HB and Ms. Frankers, and I'll see ya on Saturday!!👍🙂
You don’t have to thank me, I watch for my own personal gain and enjoy it! Thank YOU for saving a 60 2dr ht. We don’t have enough of them in the world.
I like old sayings stocking fits better than on chickens lips Cash Up Front No Tick old police saying off like a brides nighty tight as a fishes a hole which is water tight full as the last bus .I have a lot more would like to hear more of yours I live in Australia. That’s a lot of work for a midweek video. The amount of actual metalwork content coming out of your channel remains an impressive achievement. You have a great channel.
This is fascinating, but if you were on a syndicated show by now you’d be freaking out that you have to have the Biscala ready for Barrett-Jackson in a week. 😏 See you all on Saturday! 🍻
7:52 - When my dad brought his gas station abandoned, rust bucket $20 1960 Chevy Impala home circa 1971, the whole trunk piece below the trunk key tumbler was swinging by a rusty thread. My dad bought a small jar of white Marine Tex, and my 13-year-old self reaffixed that piece almost seamlessly, and that sucker never fell off even after several years. The car was white, and the Marine Tex was white, so we didn't even need to paint the repair 😁
Scott is really a good teacher, I hope people are watching this type thing and are willing to give it a try. Once again thanks for the videos.. awesome work!
I used to call you Mr. Splice but I think I'm going to call you Sir. Splice from now. Because you do amazing work with a pile of rust and turn it into something decent. Houdini car repair
I've never used them myself, but I understand that there are a variety of media types available to remove paint that are made from plastics or a form of crushed glass. I'll assume that Scott knows what I'm talking about being a former body man for a living. There might be a downside to those, the cost!
From what I gather, Tom was incapable of making the repairs himself so it was easy to give the Impala away. The hard part was finding someone with the skills to put it back together at a reasonable level. Fortunately, he lives next to Scott thus making the decision an easy one. I have no doubt that when completed, Tom will be a happy guy knowing that the car will live on indefinitely in good condition and in good hands. I think that the expectation at large from us viewers will be that Scott gives Tom a ride in the 'Biscalla' on its maiden voyage after rebirth. I hope that Tom lives long enough to take that ride!
But Scott, you can't make a coupe trunk lid out of a sedan trunk lid! That would be like making a hardtop door out of a sedan door! Oh, wait, never mind.
"Look at this Tron bullshit, eh?" Quote of the day! It's nice to know that someone else uses that word the way I have for years. The Tron school of design has been pissing me off for years 🤣

Why is CWM the only channel on this media platform the needs a thousand new subscribers to increase by fifty? Congrats on 67 K. The groundswell of public demand cannot be subdued. ILLEGITIMI NON CARBORUNDUM.
Thanks to the Editor and Camera Operator at Same Old Shit Studios for another very enjoyable Thursday edition. Best Wishes to everyone at Cold War Motors, their Families and Friends. #HammerAndDolly. #ZipWheel
Master of metal strikes again! It's really amazes me that you can take something that's pretty junk and able to repair it. And when it's done, you can't tell where the repair was done. Scott, my friend, you are the master of metal! My hat's off to you! Can't wait what's in store for Saturday! As always keep up the great work! Cheers from Florida
I'm quite fond of the film Tron and I played the video game in the arcades back in the 1980s. I was a bit surprised when Scott threw out that reference from out of the blue and he was probably a teenager at that period of time in junior high school. Might have some fond memories too!
I almost thought I was watching Carter Auto Restyling there for a second when you were swinging the body hammer. I see you're taking film production to a whole new level. You just need some classical background music and some cats. Awesome video, Scott! See you Saturday.
I'm feeding Puma Kitty here on the test porch. He always eats when the show is on. Cutting, fitting, pretty blue lights. Soon you'll have a cruiser. Always something cool on every show. Thank you Scott, Franker's and agent's.
Well Scott, your Metal Magic cintinues to enthrall me. I am beginning to see how you view the metal and almost know what you are going to do, (ha, ha) Anyway, love to watch all of your work! Hello to Frankers and the Bunny, It will be cold there soon so take care, be safe and stay well. Cheers, Rich
Yes, good old vitamin B! Great job. I was happy when you said "cool paint job". A factory paint scheme upgraded to modern paint would be awesome to me.
Hello Frankers!, Got a notification today that my calendar is in the mail, Woohoo! Great seeing more splice action. Take care all have a great week . See you on Saturday.

Scott, nice metalwork on a 64 year old! GM's last hurrah of the gullwing! Among the cars I wish I still had was my 1960 Chevy Sedan Delivery with much of the same styling as your Biscala it was even that same pale blue color! That was back in 66 in New Mexico where the freeways were still under construction and not patrolled yet. I really enjoyed your application, skill and the result that must be so satisfying. That was an awkward "two man job", that you completed so well and I cannot wait to see the outcome of one of my favourite cars! You live an enviable lifestyle sir and as somebody who has just retired and is stuck in a rut that my wife declines to get out of because she wants to stay close to grandkids I just envy a life in the country surrounded by interests instead of obligations! Therefore, your broadcasts are a great outlet for me. Thank you so much!
Do as the grandparents on both sides of the family did to me... I had to go and visit them even if the drive was a couple hours! Tell the wife that you're retired and it's time to bust a move!!
@@possumwerx Thanks for the time you spent replying, I have done what you suggested, the plan always was to do my time and eventually move to the country (a few miles not hours in a car), where I could indulge my hobbies and develop a small car collection, junk really like the boys in this show. However, family ties seem to override long held plans on one side of the equation in my household and that seems to be all that matters!
*Umpala!* What you do with these cars never ceases to amaze, Scott - it's like we did as kids with model kits, only for reals! Do everything in the right order and it will come out fine. Scott's evening is spent working on a boot lid, mine is spent cutting my pills into quarters. 😁 I know which I would prefer.

Scott from Alberta had a way with old cars, a knack for making rusty dreams look like they might just drive again. And on this particular Alberta afternoon, he was out back, eyeing down that busted ’60 Chevy Impala. The sun was hanging low, giving him just enough light to get going, so he set up his sandblaster and went to work. "Now, let’s see if you’re gonna cooperate today," he drawled, grinning under that worn-out Stetson of his. The dust kicked up around him as he hit the edges of that trunk lid, working it down, bit by bit, to something manageable. Scott wasn’t one for the pristine or the perfect; he liked the rough edges, the “make-it-work” kind of fixin’. With a steady hand and an eye for the practical, he started cuttin’ and trimmin’, muttering to himself, “Six and five-sixteenths, huh? Good enough for me.” He’d been at this game long enough to know that a little precision was good, but too much could ruin the whole thing. This wasn’t about restoring some fancy museum piece; this was about putting some old Alberta grit back into a trunk lid that’d seen better days. As the hours ticked by, Scott made his way through the trunk skeleton, tackin’ it in place and lining it up best he could. “Well, it’s closer than a horseshoe toss,” he chuckled, admiring his handiwork. There’d be more to do tomorrow, more welding, more sanding, but for today, he’d gotten the thing to hold together well enough to call it a win. The sun was just about gone, casting a long shadow over Scott’s Chevy. He leaned back, wiping the grime from his hands with a rag that looked as old as the car itself. “Not saving the world, but at least I saved one trunk lid,” he murmured, giving the old Impala a soft pat, like it was an old friend that had done him proud. With one last look, Scott tipped his hat, turned, and walked off into that Alberta dusk, already thinkin’ about what tomorrow would bring.
